The organ music swelled as I took my first step down the aisle, my white gown trailing behind me like a cloud. Sunlight streamed through the stained glass windows, casting rainbow patterns across the faces of our guests. Darren stood at the altar, tall and handsome in his tuxedo, his eyes fixed on me with an intensity that made my heart flutter. I smiled, clutching my bouquet tighter. This was our moment—the culmination of years of love and patience. My hand instinctively moved to my stomach, to the tiny life growing inside me that we'd only discovered two weeks ago. A secret still hidden from everyone but us. "You look beautiful," whispered Elaine, my best friend since childhood, as she handed me off to my father. My father squeezed my hand, his eyes glistening with pride. "You're the perfect daughter," he murmured, the same words he'd said to my eldest sister on her wedding day three years ago.

Framed Bride's Vengeance Chapter 1

I took another step forward, my gaze never leaving Darren's face. Something flickered in his expression—something I couldn't quite read. Was it nervousness? Excitement? The church was packed with guests, flowers adorned every pew, and photographers captured every moment.

Then Darren stepped forward, breaking protocol. My father's hand tightened on mine.

"Helena," Darren's voice boomed across the silent church, "there will be no wedding today."

I froze, my smile faltering. "What?"

The bouquet slipped from my fingers as Darren's hand connected with my cheek in a resounding slap that echoed through the sacred space. My head snapped sideways, pain blooming across my face.

"You murdered her!" Darren shouted, his voice cracking with emotion. "My first love—your sister!"

Gasps rippled through the congregation. I stumbled backward, my father's hand dropping from mine as if I'd suddenly burned him.

"No," I whispered, "that's not true. I loved her. I would never—"

"Stop lying!" Darren's face contorted with rage. "Sevyn showed me everything. The evidence. Your jealousy. How you killed her because she was going to marry me first!"

My eyes darted to the front row where my younger sister sat, her face a mask of perfect horror—but something else flickered behind her eyes. Satisfaction?

"Darren, please," I begged, reaching for him. "This isn't true. Someone is lying to you."

He recoiled from my touch as if I were contaminated. "I'm going to marry Sevyn instead," he announced to the stunned crowd. "She's the only one who truly loved her sister. Not like you—a murderer hiding behind a pretty face."

My mother stood up from the front row, her face pale as chalk. "Get away from us," she hissed, her perfectly manicured hand pointing at me as if warding off evil. "I don't have a daughter anymore. Not you. Never you."

My father rose beside her, his expression hardening into something I'd never seen before. "Confess your crimes, Helena," he demanded, his voice cold and formal. "Tell these people what you did to your sister."

"I didn't do anything!" My voice cracked as tears streamed down my face. "Father, please—you know me!"

But his eyes were distant, disgusted. The man who had taught me to ride a bike, who had bandaged my scraped knees, now looked at me as if I were a stranger.

"You're a disgrace to the Stone name," he said.

Around us, the wedding guests began to murmur, their voices rising in pitch and anger.

"She killed her own sister!"

"Make her pay!"

"Let her die like she let her sister die!"

The words hit me like physical blows. Hands reached for me—not to comfort but to grab, to hurt. Someone pulled at my veil, tearing it from my head.

"Where is she buried?" someone shouted. "We should dig her up and let her see justice!"

I stumbled backward, my white gown now stained with tears and makeup. My hand moved protectively to my stomach again.

"Please," I whispered, but no one was listening.

Sevyn stood up, her face a perfect mask of grief and righteousness. "She was always jealous," she said loudly enough for everyone to hear. "Always wanted what wasn't hers."

And suddenly I understood—this wasn't just Darren's doing. This was Sevyn. Somehow, she had convinced everyone of this monstrous lie.

"How?" I gasped, looking around at the faces of people I'd known all my life—people who now looked at me with nothing but hatred.

What evidence could possibly exist? What lies had been told?

As the crowd closed in around me, I realized with sickening clarity that I was completely alone. The people I loved most in the world had turned against me in an instant—and I had no idea how to fight back against a conspiracy I didn't even understand.

The morning sun streamed through the tall windows of Crescent Academy's grand hall, casting golden light across the polished wooden floors. I sat in the front row, my heart swelling with pride as I watched Zander cross the stage. Three years of sacrifice, late nights, and endless support had led to this moment. "Ladies and gentlemen," the headmaster announced, his voice echoing through the hall, "our valedictorian, Zander Campbell, has demonstrated extraordinary leadership skills and tactical brilliance throughout his time at Crescent Academy." Zander stepped forward, his tall frame commanding attention. His dark hair was perfectly styled, and his ceremonial Alpha robes fit him like they were made specifically for him—which, considering how much I'd invested in his education, they practically were. "Today marks not just an ending, but a beginning," Zander's voice carried confidently across the hall. "A beginning where we will build stronger packs, forge unbreakable alliances, and lead with both strength and wisdom." My fingers traced the intricate patterns on my dress as I listened. Those words—they were from the strategic frameworks I'd developed and shared with him during late-night study sessions. The pride in my chest expanded. This was our victory, our future.
