THE CURSED ONE Chapter 1

Smells. Dirt. Everything smells. Everything's dirty. Pain. Everywhere hurts. --- Waking up in a dusty, rusty cage only to find out you're being sold is the worst kind of feeling; it's something I wouldn't wish on even my worst enemy, or maybe I would if I had a dark heart. --- I still remember the taunts, the evil laughter, the pain I went through. I was never enough for them. They called me useless, but I always told myself I wasn't useless. --- I tried to be what they wanted. I did everything to fit into their perfect family, but it was never enough. "You're useless, a waste, just die already." These words were from my own mother, someone who was supposed to be my shoulder to cry on, my comforter, who regarded me as useless, and told me how she regrets birthing an abnormality. --- I knew it was only a matter of time before they sold me off. I didn't know it would be so soon. I must admit they caught me by surprise. After my own twin sister stole my mate, I felt it was all over. I wanted to die; he was all I had. I somehow thought I would have a better life with him. Still, my world shattered when, on the full moon night, he snatched my soul from me, forced me to watch as he mated and marked my sister, and then he rejected me.     I always knew Melody had her eyes on Ryan. I didn't know she would actually go for him. It was my fault that I overlooked all the signs. She always coincidentally sees Ryan, exposing her body to him, saying demeaning words about me to him, and his family.     But I always thought that My Ryan would never look at another woman, as the goddess mated him to me, as I was his other half, that we were made for each other. How wrong I was. I had high hopes that even though my own family excluded me from their perfect family, made me a slave in my own home, treated me worse than a Rogue, not having a wolf, that Ryan would see through those flaws and accept me because I was his goddess-given mate. ---   "You can't be my mate Laura, you can't be my luna I can't have an abnormality like you by my side I need a strong she wolf to rule beside me, I need a strong pup to take over from me, you can't give me that and I don't want to infect my lineage with a cursed being like you" Those words fell from his mouth so easily; they were filled with so much venom, so much hate, it surprised me that Ryan, who once loved me and always shielded me from getting bullied, was saying this to me. Tears fell from my eyes.     I half expected my family to show me some sympathy and comfort me, but all my hopes were crushed when I saw them praise and hail Ryan and Melody as they marked each other. The pack clapped and cheered them on as they kissed each other fiercely. It hurt more as my twin looked me in the eye and held my mate as if he were her possession.   --- That night, I concluded: I would leave the pack, run far away so no one would find me, change my name, and get a better life for myself. Maybe I'd finally be happy. I almost reached the pack borders when the alarms went off, and the patrol guards began running in my direction. I wasn't even given a chance to speak when they grabbed onto me like I was a lowly criminal; they forced me to my knees and pulled my head back.     I saw Ryan and Melody running to my side half naked, and before I could ask what I'd done, I was punched hard in the face. I was so sure my nose was broken that I looked up and saw Ryan with an ugly scowl on his face; his fangs were showing, and I knew his wolf was just beneath the surface.  "How dare you steal the Silvermoon packs Royal Crest? What were you planning to do with it? Huh, sell it?"  He accused me so easily. I couldn't even speak because he was using his Alpha Aura on me. It felt so suffocating. Melody smirked at me, and I saw a devious look in her eyes that told me that she had a hand in this. Just like when we were kids, she would do something bad and blame me, even when I wasn't at fault; I would be blamed because I was older and needed to take responsibility for my younger sister's actions. I was so caught up in staring at Melody that I didn't realize when Ryan smacked me hard, my lip broke. I looked deep into the eyes of the man I loved, the man who promised to love me till eternity, but all I could see was hatred and disgust.   I was about to speak when Davina, the current luna, spoke. "What will she say, that she didn't steal it? Search her, make sure you find it." It hurt so much that I was not only accused of stealing, but I was also being treated like a criminal. The guards took my bag and threw the contents to the ground. I was nervous, not because I was scared of the seal being found in my bag, but because I would be stopped from leaving this pack. I watched them throw and destroy my things, all in the name of searching for the seal. I closed my eyes and prayed to the goddess for help. "The seal. We found it." The guards immediately grabbed onto me even more tightly than before. The Luna slapped me twice, and I almost fell backwards if not for the guards holding me. Melody ran to the luna and stopped her from hitting me. I thought she was going to tell them that I didn't do it. But the words she said next brought me back to the reality of life.   "Mother, Ryan baby, instead of wasting our strengths on her, why don't we just throw her in the dungeon, then force her to confess that she stole the Royal Seal?" " I didn't steal it, you stole it, Melody, and planted it in my bag. I don't know how you did it, but I know for sure you're responsible for everythi-" Slap. I saw stars. "Shut your cursed mouth, if you talk badly about my luna next time, I will cut your tongue. Take her to the cells". "Nooo," I screamed. I pulled back, cried out for help, but no one came, no one cared. I was treated unjustly, I cried out to the Moon goddess, but I was just pushed into the cell. --- Time passed as I cried to the moon goddess, asking where I went wrong, begging her to take my life. I wanted to die.   I was still in my thoughts when the doors creaked open. I looked up to see who came in. It was Ryan and Melody who asked me how I was enjoying my stay, and how they would punish me for ever thinking of stealing from the pack. Ryan allowed Melody to punish me; I saw how her eyes shone with malice. Melody called the guards to grab me and tie me up so I wouldn't resist. I cried and tried my best to reason with her. "Melody please don't do this to me, I'm your twin sister and its not right to do this, you know I'm innocent I didn't do it, please just tell Ryan to let me go I promise I won't tell him that you did it, I just want to leave please I beg you i don't want him anymore you can have him and the luna tittle please."     She laughed and said, " Dear twin sister, you should know that I don't care about you, I don't like you talking about love, shut your mouth, you bitch. And don't you ever call my mate's name with that filthy, cursed mouth of yours. Ryan is mine. You stole him from me with your witchcraft, you witch. What did you say that I did?" She leaned and whispered into my ears "Yes, I did it, I planted the Royal seal in your ba. You want to know why? It's because I hate you, I hate your very existence, and the fact that you came out of the same womb with me, and to worsen it, that we are twins, you have always tried to take the spotlight from me!! You are cursed, dirty, cheap, and you're a thief, you're a disgrace to our kind. Since you don't want to die, I will have fun torturing you till the end of time!" She whipped me so many times, kicked, punched, slapped, and beat me to a pulp. I was about to give up when she poured a bucket of cold water on me. --- I heard her heels walk away. I thought she was gone, but she came back two seconds later. I watched with horror as she soaked the whip with wolfsbane. " This is to make sure you don't even have the slightest opportunity to have a wolf, you stupid, foolish slut." Aaaarrrgh** I screamed as the whip landed on my back and the wolfsbane seeped into my flesh. Moon goddess, please take me away.

After an exhausting fourteen-hour flight, Katia returned to her Upper East Side penthouse, expecting the quiet comfort of the life she had built. Instead, she found a pair of familiar red stilettos in the foyer and her fiancé, Caleb, tangled in their bedsheets with his twenty-two-year-old assistant. She didn't scream or cry. She simply took off her three-carat engagement ring, threw it at his bare chest, and demanded he buy out her half of the penthouse by Friday. Seeking to numb the sickening disgust, she got blackout drunk and crashed at a luxury hotel, accidentally stumbling into the wrong suite. Thinking the imposing man inside was a high-end escort hired by her friend, she threw him over her shoulder and spent a wild night with him. The next morning, she left five thousand dollars on his nightstand with a lipstick-stained note. "Good Job." For six years, she had funded Caleb's dreams and built his startup from the ground up, only to be treated like a lifeless ATM. With ruthless precision, she spent the next two months systematically bankrupting his company, cutting off his venture capital, and erasing his life's work. She felt no heartbreak, only a cold, calculating need to cleanse herself of his betrayal. But when Katia finally returned to corporate headquarters to co-lead a massive merger, she literally crashed into the new Vice President. Strong arms caught her waist, and the sharp scent of cedarwood and whiskey hit her like a freight train. "You came back," Jackson whispered, his eyes burning as he stared at the woman who had treated him like a cheap gigolo.
Betrayed By Him, Saved By His Uncle

On her wedding night at The Plaza Hotel, Clara went looking for her husband. Instead, she found him in the dimly lit parking garage, passionately pinning down her bridesmaid. She couldn't even scream or expose them. Just hours before the ceremony, Julian had tricked her into signing away her twenty percent shares of their co-founded company, leaving her completely penniless and unable to pay her grandmother's life-saving medical bills. Fleeing in absolute despair, a sudden hotel blackout plunged her into a second nightmare. She was dragged into a pitch-black room and brutally violated by a heavily drugged stranger. When a shattered Clara returned to the office to audit the books and reclaim her power, Julian demoted her to a dusty desk by the trash cans. He flaunted his mistress in the executive suite and deliberately sent Clara into a horrifying trap. He arranged for vicious clients to drug and assault her, demanding high-definition blackmail photos so he could divorce her with absolutely nothing. "Since you want to play rough, you can service Mr. Petrocelli tonight," the thug sneered, locking the VIP room door. Clara was pushed to the brink of hell. Why was the man she devoted three years of her life to trying to destroy her so completely? And why did the freezing cedarwood scent of the stranger who ruined her in the dark perfectly match Conrad Vance, the ruthless CEO and Julian's untouchable uncle? Rather than let Julian win, Clara smashed a glass bottle, held the jagged edge to her own throat to force the men back, and threw herself off the second-floor balcony into the freezing night. But the bone-crushing impact never came. A massive figure shot out from the shadows and caught her, and her brutal counterattack finally began.
