Roommate Claims She's a Wolf Princess Chapter 1

On the first day of school, my roommate, Kelly Anderson, claimed she was the Wolf Princess. She strutted in wearing what she proudly called wolf fur.

One glance was all it took for me to see that it was fake. That was clearly fake.

"Stella, what was that look? Get on your knees!" Kelly exclaimed.

She even held up a toad, claiming it was a rare golden toad the clan leader had taken ages to obtain for her.

I grabbed the toad and shoved it straight into her mouth.

"You think you're all that? If you're the Wolf Princess, then who am I?"

"Hi everyone, I'm Kelly Anderson. I'm the Wolf Princess."

My roommate made a dramatic entrance the moment she walked in. She had on a full set of wolf fur, her makeup was flawless, and she appeared superior to everyone else in the room.

"The Wolf Princess? From the ancient race in the myths? I heard they isolated themselves from society, but they're still known to be insanely powerful!"

One of our roommates gasped in excitement and practically skipped over to her. Their eyes were wide with admiration. "Is that real wolf fur? That's so cool! I've never seen it before! I heard your people wear wolf fur all the time!"

Kelly lifted her chin higher. Pride was written all over her face. "Of course. This is premium wolf fur. My dad spent a whole month hunting the wolf down, and my mom personally made it for me."

I glanced at her and felt immediate secondhand embarrassment. 'Wolf fur? Please. That's clearly fake.'

"What's your name?"

No one answered her. I turned around and realized she was talking to me. I pointed at myself. "Me?"

"Yes, you. What's your name?"

I had no interest in starting trouble, so I answered her casually. "Stella Asher."

I was the Wolf Princess of the grasslands. The only true princess. I hunted my own wolf during my coming-of-age ceremony and made my own fur coat. Since then, I'd become a legend.

Somehow, that story had been twisted into something else. People now believed I'd relied on my parents to get my fur, and now someone was even impersonating me.

Still, I didn't want drama with her. I came here to live peacefully for the next four years.

"Stella." She repeated my name before shoving our roommate, Fiona Leighton, aside and walked straight toward me. "What was with that look earlier? Are you doubting me? Get on your knees!"

I frowned when I heard that. That was the first time anyone had ever told me to kneel. I looked at her. "First of all, what you're wearing is not wolf fur. Second of all, you're not the Wolf Princess, so stop pretending. Third of all, don't mess with me."

I gave her a warning and turned around to unpack, but she clearly didn't know when to stop. She suddenly retrieved a toad and shoved it in my face. "Golden toad! Spit on her! Poison her! She disrespected me. Hurry up and kill her!"

I wrinkled my nose in disgust. "Get that toad away from me."

"A toad? This isn't just a toad! My dad begged our clan leader for this golden toad! Now get on your knees!"

I lost my patience. I snatched the toad, kicked her straight in the leg, and made her drop to her knees with a loud thud. I then shoved the toad straight into her mouth. "You think you're all that? If you're the Wolf Princess, then who am I?"
