Rejected From False Mate Bond Chapter 1

The pack gathering was supposed to be a celebration. Instead, it became my worst nightmare.

I stood frozen in the hospital corridor, my heart hammering against my ribs as I watched the scene unfolding through the glass partition. My mother lay helpless on the bed, her skin pale and vulnerable under the harsh fluorescent lights. Above her loomed Zara Perry, the rogue she-wolf whose presence in our territory had already caused enough tension.

But this—this was beyond comprehension.

"The unworthy bloodlines must be marked," Zara's voice carried through the open door, her tone almost reverent as she worked. "The Moon Goddess demands accountability for those who dilute our sacred lines."

In her hand gleamed a ceremonial blade, its edge coated with something that glowed faintly blue. I recognized it immediately—mystical ink used in ancient werewolf rituals. The kind that left permanent marks not just on skin, but on souls.

"No!" I whispered, my fingers digging into my palms. "What is she doing?"

The cameras mounted in the corners of the room blinked red, indicating live transmission. My stomach dropped as I realized what this meant—dozens of allied packs were watching this horror unfold in real time.

Zara's blade moved with practiced precision, carving intricate symbols into my mother's unconscious flesh. Each cut seemed to burn rather than slice, leaving behind blackened trails that pulsed with malevolent energy.

"The mystical poisoning will spread quickly," Zara continued her chilling monologue, unaware of my presence or perhaps not caring. "By the time the marks are complete, the corruption will have reached her heart."

As if responding to her words, my mother's body convulsed violently. Monitors began beeping erratically as her skin took on a sickly gray tinge around the symbols.

"Stop her!" I screamed, lunging forward only to be held back by two pack guards. "She's killing my mother!"

The door burst open behind me, and for one desperate moment, I thought salvation had arrived. Alpha Reese strode in, his powerful aura filling the room, his eyes taking in the scene with narrowed intensity.

"Reese!" I cried out, relief flooding through me. "Thank the Moon Goddess you're here! She's—"

"Silence." His voice cut through the room like ice, stopping my words dead in my throat.

I stared at him in disbelief as he approached—not Zara, but me.

"You will show respect for the she-wolf who saved my life," he commanded, his Alpha tone vibrating through my bones and forcing my head down in submission. "Zara deserves our gratitude, not accusations."

The guards tightened their grip on my arms as I struggled against the Alpha command. Through tears of rage and frustration, I watched as Reese gently took Zara's hand and led her away from my mother's bedside.

"The ceremony is complete," Zara said softly, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "I've done what was necessary."

The cameras continued their relentless broadcast as my mother's vital signs crashed on the monitors. Her body arched once more before falling limp, the black veins of mystical poisoning spreading visibly across her skin.

"Reese, please!" I begged, fighting against the Alpha command. "She needs help!"

He didn't even look back at me as he escorted Zara from the room. "The broadcast will end now," he announced to the cameras. "Moonveil Pack thanks our allies for witnessing this... necessary procedure."

The feeds cut off one by one, leaving only the sound of machines failing and my mother's labored breathing.

Healer Diane Foster rushed in moments later, her face pale as she took in the scene. Her hands hovered over my mother's body, trembling slightly as she examined the symbols carved into her flesh.

"Oh goddess," she whispered, her eyes meeting mine with unmistakable horror. "This is beyond anything I've seen."

"Can you help her?" I pleaded, finally breaking free of the guards as they relaxed their hold.

Diane's hands glowed softly as she attempted to heal the wounds, but the light sizzled and died against the blackened skin. "The mystical poisoning is too deep," she said quietly. "It's not just physical—it's spiritual corruption."

"Then we need to get her to another pack's healer," I insisted, desperation clawing at my throat. "Or even human doctors—there must be something they can do!"

Reese appeared in the doorway again, his expression cold and distant. "That won't be necessary."

"But she's dying!" I cried out.

"Zara's methods must have been justified," he replied dismissively. "Questioning her actions shows dangerous disloyalty to the pack."

Diane's eyes widened at his words, but she remained silent, her hands still glowing faintly as she tried to ease my mother's suffering.

"Disloyalty?" I echoed, my voice breaking. "This is my mother!"

"And this is my pack," Reese countered, his tone final. "I forbid any outside intervention. Zara has done what was necessary, and we will not question her wisdom."

As he turned to leave, I caught a glimpse of something in his eyes—not remorse, not regret, but something far worse. Satisfaction.
