Nelson Smith has been struggling for survival due to kidney failure. Without a transplant, he has less than four months to live.
No one in his family matched after tests were done. Not even his siblings, parents or cousins, except for one person, Janice Capuno, his wife.
Janice used to be the darling of a wealthy Dynasty, until she hid her identity and married the man she loves, Nelson Smith, against her parent's wishes.
Instead of getting love, she was treated like a servant by her mother-in-law, mocked as a gold-digger by her sister in-law, but for her husband, his love towards her remained unshakable. He'd never ceased defending and protecting her from his family, that's why when the doctors confirmed her to be a match, she didn't hesitate to get herself cut open to save Nelson's life.

There was barely thirty minutes to the surgery, and Janice was already in her hospital gown, waiting to get cut and her kidney given out to save her husband's life, when the reality of everything she had believed in came changing in her eyes.
"Babe....my phone...switch it off...battery." Nelson pointed to his bag weakly before the sedative took full action on him. Just before she'll put the phone off, a WhatsApp notification suddenly popped up. It was from Tricia, his University ex-girlfriend.
"Baby, has the fool gone into the theatre yet? I can't wait for this to be over. Once you get the kidney, we're done with her." The message read.
My Husband Wanted My Kidney Chapter 1
Janice stood in the quiet sterile room of the hospital, the acrid smell of the hospital disinfectants infesting her nostrils as she stood in the hospital gown, her hands clutched to the consent forms that's awaiting her signature to save a life.
Only her breathing and that of Nelson, struggling for his life could be heard in the silent room.
For the past nine months, her husband, Nelson Smith has been fighting for his life due to kidney failure, and without surgery, he has less than four months to live.
Nobody in his family matched after tests were done. Not even his siblings, parents, or cousins, except one person; Janice Capuno, his wife.
"Mrs. Smith, I know this might be hard on you, but you have to be strong, not just for yourself, but for your husband." Nurse Tiana said calmly, patting her back when she saw the uncertainty in Janice's expression.
"Ms. Smith, you have thirty minutes left to get yourself ready for prep." The surgeon said when he stopped by to check on her.
Even though she had been hoping and praying for this surgery to be successful, her heart never stopped sinking, a mixture of emotions swirled inside her, excitement, fear, and relief.
After the next thirty minutes, she'll have only one kidney to survive on for the rest of her life.
'What if that one fails in the near future and she finds it difficult to get a match?' she thought, but immediately, she shut her eyes closed to dismiss fear and all negative thoughts.
Besides, she has made up her mind already. She's ready to cut open her body to save the man she had promised to love in sickness and in health, and nothing will make her to back down because she can't afford her husband's blood to be on her hands when she knows that she has every opportunity to save him.
Ten minutes later, the nurses came to Prep Nelson. They gave him a mild sedative to relax him before the main amnesia.
Janice held his hands, her eyes on the verge of tears as she whispered words of encouragement and love to her husband, while she watched his gradually failing eyes.
"Babe...my phone... switch it off... battery" Nelson muttered, pointing a finger at his bag before finally falling asleep.
Janice picked up the phone to switch it off, but before she pressed the power button, the screen light flashed as a whatsapp notification popped up. It was from Tricia, Nelson's college sweetheart, the same woman he wanted to marry years back but she abandoned him when he couldn't meet up to her financial standard.
"Babe, has the fool gone into the theatre yet? I can't wait for this to be over. Once you get the kidney, we're done with her." The message read.
Janice blinked, her blood turned ice and her body stiffened up immediately. A sharp pain struck her heart as if being pierced by a double edged sword.
Before she could blink again, another notification popped up, a debit alert from his bank for a transfer done to Tricia.
She tried to unlock the phone, but the password she knew has been changed. Her body began to quiver.
She pressed her thumb, and luckily enough, her thumbprint was still saved in the phone, so it got unlocked instantly.
Without hesitation, she logged into his bank app and scrolled through the recent transactions history, her entire body stiffened.
It all started five months ago. The same month that Nelson began to act cold towards her. The same month that she complained about feeling unloved, but Nelson waved it off with the lame excuse of being under the trauma of kidney failure, and since then, he stopped all forms of intimacy with her. In just five months, the amount of money that Nelson had sent to Tricia was ten times what he had spent on her as his wife of three years.
She quickly scrolled up their WhatsApp chats, her eyes were already sullen with tears and her hands began to tremble that the phone almost fell off.
Date: 3 months ago
Nelson: The doctor said Janice is a match. Thank God, I don't have to spend millions to buy a kidney.
Tricia: Are you sure you can tolerate her? You said you wanted to divorce her next month.
Nelson: I have to pretend babe. I have to be sweet. Once I get the kidney and recover, I will file for a divorce. I can't be with a woman that has only one kidney. I need a complete woman like you.
Date: Last week
Tricia: Hope she doesn't back out.
Nelson: She won't. She's stupidly in love. She's already convinced that I'm buying her a car and as well taking her to Canada for the two weeks vacation as I've promised. She doesn't know that the only thing she's getting is a divorce.
'Hmmmmmm.' Janice breathed deeply, her eyes filled with tears as she looked at her sleeping husband. He looks peaceful and innocent.
For three years, she abandoned her wealthy family identity and her career as an ambitious interior designer in California and willingly relocated to New York after marrying Nelson Smith against her family's wishes.
Instead of happiness, she was treated as a servant by her mother in-law, mocked as a gold-digger by her sister in-law, but amidst all, Nelson never stops loving and defending her.
For that, she ensured to use her connections, secretly working underground to uplift his business and give him a bigger name in the society, from a common struggling business man to the President of the Smiths Enterprise, the largest textile and manufacturing industry in the city.
For nine months, she washed, fed and prayed for him, yet, instead of seeing her as a wife, he only saw her as a foolish organ donor to be discarded like a squeezed orange once he gets what he wants.
Janice squeezed her eyes shut to force back the tears that were threatening to fall when she heard footsteps approaching.
"It's almost time. You need to come with me." The surgeon said as he entered.
Janice glanced at the watch on her wrist, there's just fifteen minutes left, and the waiting room is flooded already with family and close friends waiting to hear the success of the surgery.
"Ok doctor. But can you please give me a few minutes? I need to use the restroom." She said, her voice calm and frail.
The doctor nodded. " But don't take too long. This is the critical hour."
Janice looked at the consent forms in hands, thankfully, she was yet to endorse her signature.
Without hesitation, she took her phone and slouched to the restroom.
Every word from the conversation flashed her memory, and this time, she couldn't hold her tears back anymore.
The hospital gown she wore was already soaked in tears while she wept and thought of the best way out, but her brain became totally blank.
Suddenly, her phone began to ring.
When she looked at the caller ID, she heaved a sigh of relief.
It was Dian, her best friend–the only person who never mocks her decision.
"Hi Janice, sorry for taking too long to come. I'll be at the hospital in the..." Dian tried to explain when Janice cut in impatiently.
"Dian, don't bother coming to the hospital anymore. I'll text you an address where we can meet."
She looked at her reflection in the mirror, a smug smile washed over her face.
"You want to get my kidney for free while you save your money to have a better life with your mistress...then let me show you a better way to save enough money." Janice thought to herself with a wicked smirk, and without hesitation she logged into his bank app and made a transfer of 99.9 billion out of the 100 billion left in his account.

To save my family's dying company, I was forced to marry a billionaire I hadn't seen in fourteen years.
But right outside the City Clerk's office, he tossed our marriage certificate at me like a cheap receipt and shoved a four-year-old boy into my arms.
"Your new life has begun. You're on babysitting duty now."
He sneered and left me stranded on the sidewalk. I realized with absolute horror that my new husband was Ellsworth Marshall, the sickly boy I had relentlessly bullied in middle school.
He didn't spend five billion dollars to save the Bradford family. He bought me to execute a slow, suffocating revenge.
He used his orphaned nephew as a pawn, explicitly threatening my father that if I failed to play the perfect, compliant nanny, he would instantly destroy our family's legacy.
He even had his guards lock me out of his Long Island estate on my first night, forcing me to stand in the cold dark just to prove he owned me.
I was trapped in a gilded cage, suffocated by the guilt of my past and the terror of my present.
Why did he involve an innocent child in his twisted vendetta? How much humiliation was enough to pay for my childhood cruelty?
Looking at the terrified little boy clinging to my skirt, I tightened my grip on my suitcase.
If he wanted to destroy my will piece by piece, I had to find a way to survive the monster I created.

The last thing I remembered was the blinding flash of my starship crashing. But instead of a rescue crew, I woke up tied to a wooden post, surrounded by hostile beastmen.
My universal translator kicked in just in time to hear their priestess, Chelsea, declare that I was a cursed demon who ruined their hunt. To save the clan from winter starvation, I was to be burned alive.
The flames were already blistering my legs, and jagged stones hurled by the crowd gashed my forehead. I barely negotiated a three-day reprieve to find them food, venturing into the deadly primeval forest.
I found a massive supply of wild potatoes and even gained the protection of Bronson, a terrifyingly powerful saber-toothed tiger beastman.
But Chelsea wouldn't stop.
She labeled my food as poisonous, tried to sentence me to starve in a penitent's cave, and when my agricultural knowledge proved her wrong, she invoked an ancient law. She incited the tribe's savage warriors to fight over me, turning me into breeding property.
I was a scientist offering them endless food, yet their primitive ignorance and one woman's vicious jealousy kept pushing me toward a brutal end. I was terrified, completely powerless against their monstrous physical strength.
As five ruthless challengers drew their bone axes to claim me, I begged Bronson to leave me and run.
Instead, he pulled me against his scarred chest and kissed me fiercely in front of the entire clan.
"She is my mate," he roared, unleashing a soul-crushing aura. "Anyone who wants her, come at me together."

Ava Kidd just wanted to escape her abusive stepmother when she got drunk at a high-end club and stumbled into the wrong hotel room.
She woke up the next morning in a luxury penthouse, lying naked next to a terrifyingly handsome man covered in her scratch marks.
Recalling rumors of the hotel's secret underground concierge, she immediately assumed she had accidentally slept with an elite male escort.
Desperate to settle the bill, she offered him her only debit card with a pathetic $1,800.
But the man, who was actually Garrison Terry, the ruthless billionaire CEO, was deeply insulted by the cheap plastic.
He trapped her against the bed, coldly demanding a half-million-dollar service fee.
When Ava frantically offered her dead mother's tarnished locket as collateral, he cruelly dismissed it as worthless junk.
Ava was humiliated, her heart pounding with absolute terror.
She didn't understand why this arrogant gigolo was acting like a deranged extortionist, demanding a fortune from a broke girl who had clearly made a mistake.
Furious and refusing to cower, she sneaked out, put on his oversized designer shirt, and aggressively ate his $800 truffle breakfast.
Having no money left, she grabbed her cheap red lipstick, wrote a defiant IOU on his expensive linen napkin, and fled the hotel.
She thought she had escaped a criminal, but upstairs, the billionaire traced her lipstick-stained name with a predatory smile.
"Ava Kidd, I will absolutely find you."

Erica Murphy had spent three years rotting in a freezing prison cell.
She thought she was serving time for a tragic accident, but the truth was much darker. Her husband, Colten, had framed her for his mistress's drunk hit-and-run, stolen her fortune, and left her to take the fall.
The day Erica was finally released, a speeding car intentionally slammed into her, shattering her spine. As she lay dying on the emergency room table, flatlining on the monitor, Colten and his pregnant mistress didn't come to save her. Instead, they tossed a stack of divorce papers onto her bloody hospital blanket. They wanted her to sign away her last remaining shares and take on thirty million dollars of toxic corporate debt.
"Sign it," Colten demanded coldly, looking at her crushed body with utter disgust. "Consider this the last bit of dignity I'm giving you."
The original Erica died right there, suffocating in despair and betrayal, unable to understand how the man she loved could be so monstrous.
But when the flatline on the monitor suddenly spiked and her eyes snapped open, the traumatized victim was gone.
Replaced by the cold, calculating consciousness of a future special ops commander. With microscopic nanobots rapidly fusing her shattered bones together, Erica picked up the pen, preparing to burn Colten's entire empire to ashes.

Isolde woke up in a freezing, ruined stone house with a splitting headache and only five percent of her life signs remaining.
Before she could even process the mechanical system voice in her head, a flood of violent memories slammed into her.
She had transmigrated into the body of a cruel noblewoman who mercilessly tortured her beastmen husbands with a barbed whip.
And right now, she was lying in a pool of her own blood, having been shoved against the stone floor by one of them.
Outside the rickety door, her husbands were coldly discussing her death.
"Just go in and finish her. One stab, and we're free."
"If she hit her head and died on her own, then it's an accident. We walk out of here as free males."
To test if she was faking her sudden amnesia, the snake beastman Dangelo even ground his heavy military boot into her injured hand, waiting for her to snap so he could legally end her.
She was poisoned, freezing, and entirely at the mercy of the men who deeply despised her.
She was bearing the deadly consequences of a monster she never was, with a red system warning of imminent death flashing in her mind.
But they didn't know the new Isolde had awakened a survival system and Life Magic.
She swore a blood oath to the Beast God to buy herself three months of time.
Then, she turned her sights to the dying wolf beastman chained in the shed, deciding to pull him back from hell to become her very first shield.
