My Husband Gave My Life-Saving Medicine to His Mistress Chapter 1

After the deal, the System only gave me seven days to live and settle my affairs.

On the first day, I got into a physical fight with Jack, trying to force him to return the untouched medicine.

On the second day, I could only cry myself unconscious outside our daughter's hospital room, hating myself for trusting Jack and single-handedly destroying her only chance to survive.

Today is the third day. Now that I've clearly realized I'm really going to die, I've calmed down to handle my affairs.

When Jack walked in holding hands with his mistress, I was painfully typing out my will, letter by letter.

The damn System never warned me that as it took away my lifespan, my organs would age simultaneously. Even just typing made my fingertips feel like they were being pricked by needles.

"Perfect timing," I said.

Deliberately ignoring their intertwined hands, I handed the laptop to Jack. "I've already talked to the lawyer. Take a look and see if there's anything you want to add.

"Do it while I'm still alive. Otherwise, you'll miss your chance."

"Lisa, how long are you going to keep up this attitude?" Jack said, veins bulging on his forehead when he saw the word "will." "It's just one pill. How long are you going to keep threatening me with death? Do you find this amusing?"

Three days had passed, and he still thought I was lying to him.

He was convinced that my deal with the System was a lie to cover up the fact that I had "slept" with my first love, Ethan.

In Jack's mind, only the wealthy and powerful could possess a pill that could bring people back from the brink of death. And the most powerful person I could have access to was Ethan.

He believed I had cheated on him first.

Giving Vicky the medicine to treat her face was his first "punishment" for me.

If I refused to admit my fault, he would humiliate me even more.

Bringing the alluring Vicky before my eyes was probably part of his plan.

She used to have a winding red scar on the side of her face, but now it was completely healed. Her skin was fair and tight, her complexion was excellent, and even her figure had become curvy.

Meanwhile, our daughter Emma, after long-term chemotherapy, was jaundiced, so thin that only a thin layer of skin wrapped around her skeleton. The slightest effort could make her collapse.

Perhaps sensing the hostility in my eyes, Jack shielded Vicky behind him.

"I've explained to you many times. Vicky is 24, this is her last chance to become famous. Why can't you be more understanding and wish her well in achieving her dream?" he said.

His face contorted with disgust. "If you really care about Emma, go ask Ethan for the medicine instead of taking your anger out on Vicky. She doesn't owe you anything."

This Jack felt like a stranger to me.

He was completely different from five years ago when he was pursuing me. Back then, he would firmly support me when I was slandered, and he would work overtime to help me raise money for international competitions.

I never thought he would stop loving me.

Until Vicky appeared.

She came to apply for a cleaning job at the company with that scar on her face. Jack burst into tears when he saw her and immediately took her under his wing. It turned out that Vicky was his first love.

That's when I found out he was in love with her, and his biggest dream was to help her become a famous actress.

That scar was like a knife that shattered his fantasy.

To fulfill her dream, he was willing to sacrifice our daughter's life to restore Vicky's appearance.

How could I possibly be understanding enough to wish them well?

My hand reached into my pocket, feeling the switchblade I had prepared earlier.

Before I could act, the doctor rushed over with a critical condition notice.

Emma's condition had taken a turn for the worse and she needed immediate emergency treatment.

"What are you standing there for?" Jack shouted, grabbing my collar, his eyes red. "Hurry up and go ask Ethan for the medicine! Do you want to watch Emma die?"
