Twins, My Two Husbands Chapter 1

I got myself a boyfriend—tall, hot, quiet, exactly what I was looking for.

Until that one random run-in off campus. Suddenly he turned all passionate and clingy, and in that department? No restraint whatsoever—new tricks every single time. I was in heaven and hell at the same time.

But today, two identical boyfriends are standing right in front of me, throwing punches over whose girlfriend I actually am.

Holy shit—they're twins.

Chapter 1

After my shift at the campus café, I slumped on the CTA Red Line, mindlessly scrolling through my phone.

A post suddenly popped up in my Reddit feed from r/relationships. It had a ton of upvotes, but the title was pure despair:

Help: My girlfriend has been super cold to me lately. What do I do?

“It's not just in person—our texts have dried up too. We barely see each other anymore, and when we do, she just says ‘I'm tired' and crashes.”

“She used to love running her hands over my abs. Now she won't even look. The jewelry I used to buy her—those chest chains, waist chains, the subtle collar stuff—she acts like it's weird and tells me to put it away.”

“After we hang out, it takes her forever to text back. When I ask what's wrong, she just says ‘busy.' Busy with what? Classes? Work?”

“I snuck by her job once. She's grinding at that indie coffee shop near campus. Is it because I'm not stepping up? Does she think I can't take care of her?”

“The worst part: right before closing, I saw this pathetic loser standing next to her. The way he looked at her—like he wanted to devour her. I wanted to punch his face in.”

“He had his arm around her waist like it was his. My girlfriend's waist isn't for just any guy to touch.”

“Sorry, rant over.”

“How do I make her like me again? Make her want to spend my money and let me spoil her? And how do I get her away from that creep for good?”

1L: Bro, your “accessories” taste is next-level. Chest chains and a collar? City boys really living their best life.

OP: She loved it. Every time I wore them, she'd stare for ages.

2L: Bro… your girlfriend has a new boyfriend. Wake up. She's got someone else.

OP: No, she only loves me. It's that campus guy—he's in the same classes, easy access. He stole her right under my nose.

3L: You literally watched it happen and did nothing? Why post here instead of confronting the side dude? You are the boyfriend, right?

OP: If I piss her off, she'll pull away even more. I can't risk that.

4L: Wait—you sure you're actually her boyfriend? Or just her secret side piece? Maybe she's scared of getting caught.

OP: I am her boyfriend! Or husband, basically.

5L: Lmao, she's got a new man and you're still coping.

OP: Shut up. We're soulmates!

The thread kept going—people laughing, stirring the pot.

I felt the corner of my mouth twitch into a smile.

The girl in the post sounded a lot like me.

Juggling two guys at once, though? Respect.

And the jewelry obsession? Same.

I figured nothing beat a tall white guy covered in silver chains—abs like armor, pecs like sculpture.

But lately? Ethan had been too much. Always needy. Too intense. I was exhausted.

Time to go cold turkey for a while.

I sighed, pocketed my phone, and dragged myself the last few blocks home.

The second I stepped out of the elevator, I froze.

Two Ethans were standing at my door.

Both six-foot-two, pale skin, sharp jawlines, and those perfect eight-pack abs I knew way too well under their hoodies.

Both had bruises—one on the cheek, one near the eye.

“Baby, you're home.”

“Baby, I missed you so much.”

My brain short-circuited.

Wait.

The girl on Reddit… was that me?

The greenhouse was my sanctuary in a pack house that had never felt like home. Dawn hadn't yet broken when I slipped inside, the familiar scent of damp soil and blooming flowers wrapping around me like an embrace I'd long been denied elsewhere. My fingers trembled slightly as I reached for the watering can—a weakness I couldn't afford to show outside these glass walls. I focused on the white lilies, my favorites. Their pure petals reminded me of what I once was—hopeful, untainted. Before the mate bond that became my prison. "You're wilting too, aren't you?" I whispered to a drooping bloom, gently supporting its stem. My wolf, Luna, whimpered softly in the back of my mind. Once silver and strong, she now barely stirred, weakened by the sickness that had been consuming us both since I gave too much blood to save William three years ago. A sudden tremor ran through my bones, stronger than the usual morning weakness.
