The sound of his pen scratching against the paper was louder than the thunder outside. Beside me, Dante, the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, reeked of a sickly, synthetic sweetness—a witch's hex perfume that clouded his mind and made him obsessed with another woman. He tossed a folder onto my lap without even looking at me. "File this with the Council tomorrow," he ordered, his eyes glazed over as he texted his mistress, Sofia. "It's just the logistics report." He didn't know he had just signed our divorce papers. Suddenly, he slammed on the brakes in the middle of a dark highway. "Get out," he snarled, his eyes glowing a feral yellow. "Sofia is being attacked. I need the car. You're slowing me down." I froze. "Dante, this is Rogue territory." "Survive," he scoffed. He forced me out of the safety of the SUV and sped away, leaving his Fated Mate standing in the freezing rain to save a mistress who was lying on a yacht. My wolf didn't weep this time. She growled. I looked at the signed document in my hand. He thought he was stripping my access to the treasury, but he had just legally set me free. I didn't wait for him to return. The Silent Luna: Rejected by the Blind Alpha Chapter 1

"It's just the logistics report."

He didn't know he had just signed our divorce papers.

Suddenly, he slammed on the brakes in the middle of a dark highway.

"Get out," he snarled, his eyes glowing a feral yellow. "Sofia is being attacked. I need the car. You're slowing me down."

I froze. "Dante, this is Rogue territory."

"Survive," he scoffed.

I took the papers, withdrew fifty million dollars from his account, and vanished to the West Coast.

When he finally clears the witch's fog from his mind and comes looking for his submissive wife, he won't find Elena the doormat.

He will face the White Wolf.

Chapter 1

Elena POV:

The sound of the Montblanc pen scratching against the paper was louder than the thunder rolling outside.

Rain lashed against the bulletproof windows of the black SUV, blurring the neon lights of the city into streaks of bloody red and bruised purple. I sat perfectly still, my hands folded in my lap, trying to make myself as small as possible.

Beside me, Dante Moretti, the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, didn't even look at me. His attention was split between the stack of documents on the leather armrest and the glowing screen of his phone.

Ding.

A message from Sofia. I knew it was her. His heartbeat, usually a steady, terrifying drum, skipped a beat. The air in the car grew heavy, not just with his scent, but with something else-a cloying, synthetic sweetness radiating from his coat. It was a witch's hex-perfume, subtle enough to bypass a Wolf's nose but strong enough to cloud an Alpha's judgment. I'd smelled it on him for months, a fog that made him pliable to her whims.

He signed the final page with a flourish.

"Done," he said, his voice deep and rough, like gravel grinding together. His eyes were slightly glazed, the gold in his irises dull.

He tossed the folder onto my lap. It hit my thighs with a dull thud.

"File this with the Council tomorrow," he ordered, his eyes never leaving his phone as he typed a reply. "It strips your administrative access to the treasury. We need those funds for the border expansion."

He hadn't read it. I saw the title page-'Pack Bond Dissolution & Asset Liquidation'-buried beneath a generic 'Logistics Report' cover sheet. Sofia had prepped this stack. She knew he wouldn't check. She knew the hex made him trust her blindly.

"Yes, Alpha," I whispered.

The car stopped at the curb. Not at the Pack House, but at a street corner downtown.

"Get out. I'll collect you in two hours for the Elder's banquet," he said.

I opened the door and stepped into the downpour.

Forty minutes later, I sat in the corner of a small, dim coffee shop. My best friend, Mia, stared at the folder on the table, her knuckles white.

"He's a blind idiot," Mia hissed. "A wolf with no nose. How can he not smell the rot on that woman?"

I stirred my tea. "He's not just blind, Mia. He's drugged. That scent she wears... it suppresses his instincts. He thinks he's making choices, but he's sleepwalking."

"You are his Fated Mate, Elena!" Mia slammed her hand on the table. "The Moon Goddess paired you. The bond is sacred."

"The bond is a chain," I corrected her softly. "And he has been rusting it for three years."

I looked out the window. My reflection was pale, but for a second, my eyes flashed a strange, iridescent silver instead of their usual brown. It was happening more often lately-a surge of dormant power I couldn't explain.

"I'm going to do it," I said. "I'm going to the West Coast. To the Silver Creek Pack."

Mia's eyes widened. "Isabella's territory? That's neutral ground. Technology, no old laws. But Dante will hunt you."

"He won't notice I'm gone until he needs a shirt ironed or a wound stitched," I said bitterly.

Suddenly, the air in the coffee shop grew heavy. The chatter died down. It was the pressure of an Alpha's aura.

The door burst open.

Dante stood there, six foot four of pure aggression. His eyes scanned the room and locked onto me.

"Elena," he growled.

Every instinct screamed Run, but I felt a strange resistance in my chest. The Alpha Command hit me, but instead of crushing me instantly, it felt like it hit a glass wall before shattering through. I stood up, my legs shaking only slightly.

"We are late," he said, striding over. He grabbed my wrist.

"Dante, you're hurting her," Mia protested.

Dante released a low growl that forced Mia back into her seat. He dragged me out and shoved me into the back of the SUV.

The interior smelled different now. The hex-perfume was stronger, masking the fresh pine scent of his wolf.

"Did you file the papers?" he asked.

"I... I sent them," I lied. The folder was still in my bag.

He nodded, satisfied. Then, his face went rigid. His eyes glazed over as he entered a Mind-Link conversation.

Suddenly, he roared. "Stop the car!"

The driver slammed on the brakes. We were on the highway, flanked by dark woods.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Sofia," he snarled. "She's being attacked. Rogues. Just north of here."

He opened the door.

"Dante, you can't go alone," I started to say.

He turned to me, his eyes glowing a feral yellow. "Get out."

I froze. "What?"

"I need the car to transport her when I find her. She's injured. You're slowing me down. Get out, Elena. Now!"

Alpha's Command.

Again, that strange delay. My body wanted to rebel, my inner wolf snarling back with a voice that sounded ancient and cold. But the habit of submission was too strong. I stepped out into the freezing rain.

"Dante," I gasped. "This is Rogue territory."

"You're a Luna," he scoffed. "Survive."

The SUV peeled away. I stood alone in the dark. My wolf didn't weep this time. She let out a sound that was less of a whimper and more of a warning growl.

He left us, she said. For the last time.

I looked down at my hand. The rain washed over my wedding ring.

"You signed the papers, Dante," I whispered. "You really did."

I closed my eyes and visualized a wall of white marble slamming down, severing the bond. It wasn't just a mental exercise; I felt a physical snap in my chest, like a tether breaking.
