Rejecting My Mate Before He Destroys Us Chapter 1
I funded the education of the pack’s rising star, Jimmy Sullivan, and out of what I thought was gratitude, he became my mate. He threw lavish gatherings for the pack, supported those in need, and quickly became the golden boy in everyone’s eyes. After graduation, he joined my father’s company as a Beta, only to embezzle funds and ruin the pack, leading my father, the Alpha, to take his own life. On my way to report his crimes to the Lycan Council, his new mate ran me over in the street, killing me.
When I opened my eyes again, Jimmy was tossing the gold bracelet I had gifted him onto the ground, his voice dripping with disdain.
"Why did you engrave our names on it? Do you want everyone to know I’m only with you for your father’s influence and money?"
"Don’t try to insult me with your wealth!" he spat, his eyes cold and mocking.
I quickly bent to pick up the bracelet, my heart pounding as the memory of my past life flooded back. This time, I wouldn’t be blinded by love. I pulled out my phone and called my father, the Alpha of our pack.
"Dad," I said, my voice steady despite the storm of emotions inside me. "Cancel his card. All of them."
Given this second chance, I refused to let Jimmy’s deceit destroy me again.

"Why did you engrave our names on it? Do you want everyone to know I’m only with you for your father’s influence and money?" Jimmy’s voice cut through the quiet of the pack’s training grounds, his tone icy as he hurled the gold bracelet to the ground. The engraved names—his and mine—glinted in the sunlight, a stark reminder of the bond I’d once thought was unbreakable.
"Don’t try to insult me with your wealth," he added, his gaze cold and dismissive.
I looked around, taking in the familiar surroundings and the smug expression on Jimmy’s face. The realization hit me like a thunderclap—I had been given a second chance. This was the moment everything had started to unravel in my past life, and I wasn’t going to let it happen again.
"If you erase the names from the bracelet, I might think about wearing it," Jimmy said, his voice dripping with false indifference.
I smirked, seeing through his facade as clearly as if he’d laid his soul bare. Jimmy, the pack’s supposed golden boy, was nothing more than a con artist. In my previous life, he had pretended to reject my gifts, accusing me of flaunting my family’s wealth, all while secretly draining my father’s accounts and living a life of luxury at our expense.
Jimmy turned away from me, his fake smile plastered on his face as he strode back toward the packhouse. He stepped into the center of the room, his voice ringing out with false enthusiasm. "Tonight, I’m celebrating Amy’s birthday at the most exclusive bistro in the city. It’s all on me!"
The pack erupted into excited chatter:
"Jimmy’s so generous! That place is insanely expensive; only Alphas and their families can afford it!"
"Yeah, he’s such a legend. He’s always looking out for us!"
"Jimmy, you’re the pride of our pack. We’re lucky to have you!"
Jimmy basked in the adoration, his chest puffed out as if he truly believed his own lies. He loved playing the role of the selfless, wealthy Beta, but I knew the truth—his charade was about to come crashing down.
I picked up the bracelet, my fingers tracing the engraved names one last time before slipping it into my pocket. Without making a scene, I pulled out my phone and dialed my father, the Alpha.
"Dad," I said, my voice calm but resolute. "Cancel his card. All of them."
Without access to my family’s accounts, I wanted to see how Jimmy would keep up his act. The pack’s golden boy was about to learn that his luck had run out.
