The morning sun streamed through the tall windows of Crescent Academy's grand hall, casting golden light across the polished wooden floors. I sat in the front row, my heart swelling with pride as I watched Zander cross the stage. Three years of sacrifice, late nights, and endless support had led to this moment. "Ladies and gentlemen," the headmaster announced, his voice echoing through the hall, "our valedictorian, Zander Campbell, has demonstrated extraordinary leadership skills and tactical brilliance throughout his time at Crescent Academy." Zander stepped forward, his tall frame commanding attention. His dark hair was perfectly styled, and his ceremonial Alpha robes fit him like they were made specifically for him—which, considering how much I'd invested in his education, they practically were. "Today marks not just an ending, but a beginning," Zander's voice carried confidently across the hall. "A beginning where we will build stronger packs, forge unbreakable alliances, and lead with both strength and wisdom." My fingers traced the intricate patterns on my dress as I listened. Those words—they were from the strategic frameworks I'd developed and shared with him during late-night study sessions. The pride in my chest expanded. This was our victory, our future.

Rejected Mate's Revenge Chapter 1

The morning sun streamed through the tall windows of Crescent Academy's grand hall, casting golden light across the polished wooden floors. I sat in the front row, my heart swelling with pride as I watched Zander cross the stage. Three years of sacrifice, late nights, and endless support had led to this moment.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the headmaster announced, his voice echoing through the hall, "our valedictorian, Zander Campbell, has demonstrated extraordinary leadership skills and tactical brilliance throughout his time at Crescent Academy."

Zander stepped forward, his tall frame commanding attention. His dark hair was perfectly styled, and his ceremonial Alpha robes fit him like they were made specifically for him—which, considering how much I'd invested in his education, they practically were.

"Today marks not just an ending, but a beginning," Zander's voice carried confidently across the hall. "A beginning where we will build stronger packs, forge unbreakable alliances, and lead with both strength and wisdom."

My fingers traced the intricate patterns on my dress as I listened. Those words—they were from the strategic frameworks I'd developed and shared with him during late-night study sessions. The pride in my chest expanded. This was our victory, our future.

"The path to Alpha leadership requires sacrifice," Zander continued, his golden eyes briefly meeting mine. "But with the right partner by your side, anything is possible."

I smiled back, interpreting his glance as a promise of our future together. Three years of supporting him through this program, using my family's connections and resources to ensure he had everything he needed. Three years of believing in our mate bond and the powerful partnership we would build as Alpha and Luna.

After the ceremony, we celebrated at the academy's grand reception hall. Pack leaders from across the territory approached us, offering congratulations and invitations to join their councils. I stood proudly beside Zander, my hand occasionally brushing against his as we navigated the political landscape together.

"Adelaide," Zander said quietly as we stepped into a momentary pocket of privacy, "there's something important I need to discuss with you later."

I nodded, assuming it was about our future plans. "Of course. I'll meet you at the estate in a few hours."

---

The celebration still buzzed in my mind as I waited at my family's estate. I'd changed into a simple blue dress, one that Zander had once said brought out the silver flecks in my eyes. I paced the main hall, reviewing the mental list of pack alliances we needed to solidify.

The sound of the front door opening sent my heart racing. But something was wrong—Zander entered with a formal entourage behind him, including the pack's official witness and a stern-faced elder.

"Adelaide Nichols," he began, his voice suddenly distant and cold. "Daughter of Marcus Nichols, former Beta of the Silver Moon Pack."

The formal address hit me like ice water. This wasn't how mates spoke to each other.

"I stand before you today to formally declare my intention regarding our mate bond," Zander continued, his eyes avoiding mine.

My wolf stirred anxiously inside me as he spoke the ancient words of rejection.

"I, Zander Campbell, reject you, Adelaide Nichols, as my mate."

The room spun around me. This couldn't be happening. Not after everything we'd built together.

"However," he continued, his voice straining slightly, "I intend to claim Paisley Ellis as my chosen mate."

Paisley Ellis? The Lycan King's daughter? The same woman who'd been hovering around him at academy events for months?

Zander extended a small velvet box toward me. "These are for you—as acknowledgment of our time together."

My hands trembled as I accepted the box. Inside lay an exquisite set of diamond earrings and a matching necklace—far more expensive than anything he'd ever given me before.

"I don't understand," I whispered, my voice breaking. "After everything we've been through—"

"The decision is made," he said firmly, already turning away. "The ceremony will be completed tomorrow at the Lycan Court."

---

I locked myself in my private study, the door barred against the world. My fingers clutched the velvet box as tears streamed down my face. How could he do this? After three years of devotion?

Slowly, I examined the jewelry more closely. Something unusual caught my eye—small, translucent stones embedded within the settings.

Moon stones.

My breath caught. Moon stones were traditionally used to warn of threats to one's father. My father had been gone for years, but his political connections still protected me.

Or had they?

I turned the pieces over in my hands, noticing how the moon stones seemed to pulse with an inner light. Was this some kind of message? Or just another cruel joke?

My wolf growled within me, her pain matching my own. But beneath the hurt, something else began to stir—rage.

"He thinks he can discard me like this?" I whispered to the empty room. "After everything I've done for him?"

I slammed my fist against my desk, sending papers flying. The moon stones scattered across the wooden surface, gleaming mockingly in the lamplight.

If Zander thought I would simply fade away, he was about to learn how wrong he was. The daughter of a Beta doesn't break that easily.

And neither does Storm Wolf.
