Chapter 2

Yvonne's face flushed. "When did you become so open-minded?"

I laughed. She was a married woman. It was about time she stopped pretending to be an innocent schoolgirl. If they wanted a baby, they would have to put in the effort.

"Julian's always saying he wants a son. If I give him one, he'll love me even more for sure." Her eyes sparkled.

I nodded right away. "He already loves you plenty. Son or no son, that won't change."

Satisfied, Yvonne clutched her new secret weapons and hurried off.

Before I caught Julian cheating, he had really played the part of the perfect husband. He was reliable, gentle, and generous. His only flaw was how often he went on business trips.

But as it turned out, those trips were never about work. They were his excuse to sneak away with his lover.

In my previous life, I lost it when I discovered his backseat escapade and started throwing a fit. A crowd had even gathered around the car and recorded the scene.

"My brother-in-law is a fraud!" I shouted. That night, the incident went viral.

The whole family was shattered. Yvonne even fainted from the shock. I was the only one who stayed strong and continued to speak up for her.

Ultimately, I exposed Julian's true colors as a scammer and helped Yvonne escape her misery. I handed over every dollar I earned from livestreams and donations, not keeping a cent.

I thought she'd be grateful. Instead, she looked at me with nothing but hatred after the divorce.

Even my parents turned on me. "You've humiliated the family! What were you thinking, airing dirty laundry like that? Now that she's ruined, who's going to marry her after this?"

I could handle not being appreciated. But what I couldn't have imagined was Yvonne, after battling depression for half a year, declaring, "I've made up my mind. I love Julian. It doesn't matter if he doesn't love me back! I'm going to remarry him. He'll forgive me if I beg him!

"I'll give him a son. That's all he's ever wanted. Once I do, we'll be together again."

I tried to stop her by locking her in her room and cutting off every chance she had to reach him.

But Yvonne came at me with a knife, hacking through the door and slashing my face. "If you hadn't interfered and ruined my marriage, Julian would never have left me!"
