My Two Fated Alphas Begged Me Not to Reject Them Chapter 1

At the far end of the corridor stood Asher Thorne, the top Alpha of our academy.

He stood surrounded by his usual crowd, laughing at something a friend said.

He was also my mate.

I had known for an entire year, but Asher never noticed me.

"Leave me alone, Vanessa," I muttered.

"I don't want any trouble," I said.

Vanessa side-stepped, blocking my path again. "You are the trouble. You drag down the reputation of this entire academy just by breathing our air."

"Move, Vanessa."

"Make me move, Omega."

"I have class," I told her, keeping my tone even. "Get out of my way."

"Did you just give me an order?" Vanessa's eyes narrowed. "You really think you belong here, don't you?"

Before I could react, Vanessa shoved both hands hard into my shoulders.

I stumbled backward. My heel caught the metal edge of the top stair. I flailed, dropping my book. I reached desperately for the railing, but my fingers grabbed empty air.

Someone stepped out of the lower stairwell directly into my path.

A solid wall of muscle.

My face slammed into his chest. The impact knocked my chin up, and as we went down in a messy tangle of limbs, my lips smashed directly against his.

Sparks exploded across my skin.

The scent of pine needles and crackling thunderstorms flooded my senses, washing over me in a heavy wave. My wolf—the spirit that had never once manifested—howled loudly in the dark recesses of my mind.

*Mate.*

I tore my mouth away and stared up into furious, ice-blue eyes.

Ronan Pierce. The dangerous new transfer Alpha everyone had been whispering about all morning.

His nostrils flared violently. His pupils blew wide, swallowing the blue iris entirely. He felt the bond. I saw the exact second the realization hit him. The shock registered on his face, softening his harsh features for a fraction of a second.

He stared at my lips, then up to my eyes. "You," he breathed, the word barely audible over the ringing in my ears.

Then, his gaze dropped to my neck. To the smooth, unmarked skin where a scent gland should be.

"Wolfless," Ronan whispered.

His expression twisted from shock to absolute, unfiltered disgust. The softness vanished, replaced by a sneer that chilled my blood.

"I—I'm sorry, I didn't mean to—"

"Get off me, you defective freak!" Ronan roared.

He planted his large hands on my collarbones and shoved me. Hard.

The force threw me backward. I tipped completely over the edge of the landing.

My shoulder slammed into the hard concrete edge of a step. I tumbled, my knee cracking against the metal railing. Pain flared hot and bright across my ribs as I flipped again.

I hit the bottom floor with a sickening thud.

Warm liquid immediately trickled down my forehead, stinging my left eye. I curled into a ball, clutching my throbbing stomach.

"Did you all see that?" Vanessa shrieked from the top of the stairs. Her voice echoed through the rapidly quieting hallway. "The wolfless Omega just threw herself at the new Alpha!"

Students crowded the upper railing, peering down at me like I was an exhibit in a zoo.

"She literally jumped on his face," a boy yelled. He pointed a finger at my bleeding form.

"How desperate can you get?" a girl sneered. "She knows no one will ever want her."

Ronan stood at the top of the stairs. He wiped his mouth violently with the back of his hand. "Keep your garbage away from me," he announced to the crowd. "It makes me sick."

My chest squeezed painfully. My own mate just called me garbage in front of the entire school.

"What is going on here?"

The hallway instantly went dead silent.

Asher pushed his way through the crowd.

"Asher!" Vanessa called out. Her tone shifted into fake outrage. "Lena just tried to force herself on Ronan. She ambushed him right on the stairs. We all saw it."

I pushed myself up onto my elbows.

"That is a lie! Vanessa pushed me."

Asher stared down at me. His face remained a mask of cold indifference.

"You expect me to believe a Beta pushed you hard enough to send you flying into another Alpha?"

"Yes!" I shouted. My voice cracked under the strain. "Because that is exactly what happened! Ask anyone else!"

Asher turned to the students lining the railing. "Did anyone see Vanessa push her?"

Silence.

"We all saw her jump," Vanessa's friend chimed in quickly. "She practically tackled him."

Ronan crossed his arms. He glared down at me with pure hatred. "She kissed me. Unprovoked. It was repulsive."

Asher's jaw tightened. He turned his attention back to me. His golden eyes looked hard and unforgiving. "Apologize to him, Lena."

I froze.

"What did you just say?"

"You heard me," Asher commanded. His Alpha tone rang heavily through the corridor. "Apologize to Ronan."

"I am bleeding!" I yelled. I swiped a hand across my forehead.

"He pushed me down a flight of stairs! He could have killed me!"

"You assaulted a transfer student on his first day," Asher replied evenly. He completely ignored the blood on my face. "Apologize right now, or I will have the disciplinary committee expel you before first period even starts."

"I am maintaining order in my school," Asher stated. "Do it. Now."

Tears stung the corners of my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. I looked back up at Ronan. My second mate. The boy who smelled like pine and storms, who looked at me like I was a disease meant to be eradicated.

"Well?" Ronan demanded. He tapped his foot against the top step. "I'm waiting, Omega."

I grabbed the bottom rung of the railing and hauled myself up. Searing pain shot up my leg. I leaned heavily against the cold metal bars just to stay upright.

"I'm sorry, Alpha Ronan," I forced the words through gritted teeth. I tasted the metallic tang of blood on my lip. "I apologize for tripping into you."

Ronan scoffed. He turned his broad back to me. "Keep her out of my sight."

Vanessa smirked. She held her hand up to high-five the girl next to her.

"Everyone get to class," Asher barked. He waved his hand at the gathered students. "
