My Sister-in-Law’s Baby Exposed My Husband’s Betrayal Novel Cover

My Sister-in-Law’s Baby Exposed My Husband’s Betrayal

My husband cheated, and I'm set on getting a divorce. My mom was the first to oppose. "Isn't this just how all men are? You're blowing this out of proportion. Once you have a kid, everything will be alright." My brother scowled, thinking I was overreacting. "Without Brock, do you really think you can find someone better? You won’t even consider your own faults; this is how life is!" But the woman my husband cheated with is my sister-in-law. And she's been seeing three men, one of whom just happens to be my father's illegitimate son. Ever since I revealed Brock’s affair and my plan to divorce him, my home turned as cold as ice. My mom frowned right away, ready to voice her disapproval.

Chapter 2

My brother kept covering for Brock, and I finally lost my patience.

"Easy for you to say. If Brynn had been the one cheating, would you be sitting here contemplating your own mistakes?"

Osman flew into a rage, hurling his video game controller to the floor. "Stop talking nonsense! Brynn is amazing. How could she cheat? You're slandering her!"

My mom, Emerald, chimed in with a look of disapproval. "Just because your husband cheated doesn't mean everyone else does too. Osman is a good man, and Brynn would never hurt him."

"And she's carrying the George family's firstborn! Instead of taking care of her, you're making baseless accusations!"

I laughed bitterly. How is this slander?

After discovering Brock's affair with Brynn, I hired a private investigator to follow them. Surprisingly, instead of catching them in the act, the investigator caught Brynn on a date with another man—not my brother, not my husband, but my father's illegitimate son.

If they're asking me to forgive Brock's affair, shouldn't they also excuse Brynn's flirtation with my half-brother, Tyson? Why protect outsiders while ignoring your own kin? There's no need to say more.

I stood up, ready to leave. "I'm getting a divorce. You can disagree, but it won't change my decision."

Emerald hurried to block my way. "Are you out of your mind? Do you think you'll get a good settlement if you divorce? What if you can't secure that estate we agreed would go to Osman?"

Of course, it always comes back to Osman in the end. "Don't even think about it. Whether I divorce or not, I'm not giving the property to you."

I brushed past them, heading for the door, only to find two people coming in first—my father, Issac, and Brock.

Issac stepped forward, wearing his usual mask of the benevolent peacemaker. "Eloise, I’ve spoken with Brock. This isn’t a major issue."

"He’ll apologize and write a letter of assurance. Isn’t that enough?"

I shouted, "Not a big deal? What constitutes a big deal, then? Would it matter if he had multiple illegitimate children?"

My father turned pale and fell silent.

Then Brock suddenly dropped to his knees, tears streaming down his face. "Eloise, I was wrong. I was out of my mind, straying in our marriage, and left you heartbroken."

"I truly love you. Look, I’ve always given generous gifts to your parents during Thanksgiving and treated Osman and Brynn like my own siblings. I do it out of love."

Hearing him made me nauseous. Sure, such love that he brought my sister-in-law to his own bed.

"Spare me the sob story. If you're genuinely remorseful, walk away with nothing."

His face changed instantly, contorting for a moment. I knew he resisted divorce only because of the money.

Before anything else could be said, Brynn walked in. She entered, acting shocked, and looked at me accusingly.

"Sis, what did Brock do to deserve kneeling before you?"

"A man's pride is priceless. Seeing him like this, how can you stand it?"

Seeing her rekindled my anger. "Stay out of this; it doesn't concern you."

Her expression shifted, and she quickly glanced at Brock, then looked pleadingly at Osman. "Honey, did I do something wrong to upset her?"

Osman rushed to her side, comforting her in his arms. "It's not your fault. My sister is just being unreasonable, picking a fight with Brock."

I almost laughed, glaring at Brock. "His cheating is suddenly my fault? Brock, if you have the guts, tell everyone right here, right now."

"Who is the woman you're seeing, and how much money have you squandered on her over the years?"

I stood in the doorway of my Manhattan penthouse, phone in hand, recording the scene before me with clinical precision. I let the silence stretch until Kendrick's eyes found mine in the reflection of the window.
