Chapter 1

Yvonne's POV

Stepping out of the Limo, I was almost swallowed up by the sycophantic crowd. The reporters rushed me trying to get my attention with their questions. I told myself, I've become a star overnight. I wore a yellow off-shoulder fitting gown extending to my feet with a high slit. This gown made me look so elegant. I gave out my best smile to the paparazzi.

"How do you feel about winning Miss Werewolf America?" One of the reporters asked. I walked past him with my bodyguards beside me, trying to make way and prevent fans from mobbing me. That was the order from my manager "Don't give a reply to any reporter's questions".

"We heard that top men and aristocrats are romantically interested in you. What is your take on it and how do you feel about it, Miss Yvonne". I grinned at his questions while I made my way into the building.

"You should wait here. I would love to have a confidential time with him." I said to my bodyguards as I entered the elevator. I breathed a sigh of relief as the elevator door closed. I can't believe this. Being a celebrity is hard and fun. Yeah, I am a celebrity. I'm now a celebrity. A Super star!

I've always been waiting for this day, this moment that I almost gave up on.

"The winner of Miss Werewolf America, Yvonne Carey". Those words! Those sentences made me, I'll never forget them. Up till now, these words re-echoed in my ears. It was the greatest moment of my life! A day I will never forget. The unforgettable moment! I felt on top of the world. I fulfilled my parents' dream, my dream. I didn't disappoint them nor did I disappoint myself. An ordinary Yvonne Carey has become a lady single wealthy suitors are rooting for.

Since I have been announced as the Winner, my best friend and manager, Nelly, has been receiving calls from Alphas, Betas and rich suitors alive but who told them I'm ready for a sudden marriage? I've become an instant candidate but none interest me. Aside from this, I've been receiving calls for endorsements from various companies, just a great advantage to win in life.

The glass door opened at the top floor and I made my way out of the elevator. The chatter can inexplicably be heard lurking in the background throughout the building. In minutes I found myself standing before Nelly's door. I twisted the doorknob and made my entrance to the office. Before me sat a disheveled lady in her twenties. Her hair looks rough and unkempt with bags under her eyes.

"Didn't you sleep?" I dropped my bag hurriedly and walked towards her.

"I slept in the office". She said, staring sleepily at me.

"You should get some sleep then, it's very significant for good health".

"There's so much to do. Being a manager to a great woman like you isn't easy, Yvonne. " I just chuckled at her compliment.

"Have you eaten?" She asked me.

"Yes I have. You know, I don't joke with food." I winked at her.

"Wow you look good, Yvonne". She complimented, I blushed and twirled around, in front of her while she laughed out loud, amused by my action.

"You've sacrificed so much for this. You deserve it".

"And you deserve to sleep". I added.

"There's so much you have to do. Companies are ready to work with you. Your signatures are needed and your presence as well. I need to arrange all these."

"Ahh yes I know. Get some rest, Nelly". I insisted. "Such a workaholic." I said inside of me.

The telephone rang out loud which distracted our arguments. I looked at her with a frowny face, I hate being cut in the middle of a conversation by anything. "When you're done picking that. Go get some sleep, I wouldn't say that again." I said warningly. She chuckled at my words and picked up the phone.

"Yes, it's Nelly on the line. Please who am I on to?" She said professionally while I stared at her with admiration. She is so cool and office-like even after insane jokes and her stubbornness. .

Her face lit up and she turned towards me, handing the phone to me. I raised my eyebrows at her in confusion while she urged me to collect the phone from her. I collected it and placed it close to my ear.

"Hello, who's this?" I was so impatient to know who it was. I couldn't speak in a polite tone like her.

"Hi, Yvonne!" The husky voice said on the other line. I was surprised and wondered who it was.

"Please who are you?" Even though the voice sounds familiar, I can't remember where I heard it.

Silence was maintained for a while before his voice came up again. "I'm Alpha Jeff." My heart skipped, I couldn't believe my ears. How? Jeff? It was like a dream. He has always been my longtime crush who took me for nothing. Over many times, he had made me face embarrassment just because I wasn't his class but had a crush on him. He even made it clear to me that I was not his type.

Hmmm….

Why is he calling me now? Alpha Jeff is the Alpha Prince of the entire southern Supreme American Pack accommodating over many millions of werewolves since it's already a continent on its own. I should be really thrilled and honored to receive a call from him, but what he did to me in the past still lingers in my mind. Despite this, I feel the aura of greatness sparking from him.

I glanced over at my best friend, Nelly. She urged me to speak while she kept grinning at me. It seems like a dream come true. "Are you still there?" I muttered after keeping quiet for a while and not knowing what to say.

"Yes, I am". He replied softly.

"Why do I deserve to be called by the Alpha? Is there any problem?"

"Drop the formalities, we were once schoolmates". He said, chuckling.

"Ohhh!" I exclaimed in surprise. So he now knows we were once schoolmates? Yes, we were classmates but he never acknowledged me as one. He always ignored me and made me face embarrassment. I remembered the day I confessed my feelings to me. They made a joke out of me but that didn't change my feelings for me. Instead, it made me love him more. More than before.

"How have you been doing?" He asked.

"I've been good".

"Congratulations on your latest wins. I was thrilled to know that my long time classmate earned this honored title".

"Thanks. Oh….Was that what the call is about? To congratulate me?" I cut in sharply.

"Yes, if I'm not mistaken."

"Thank you so much". I sighed disappointedly.

"Can we meet, Yvonne?." He asked and I jerked up from the chair I sat on, widening my eyes. I can't believe this.

"We should meet?" I asked again to be sure that I heard this from him.

"Yes, I want us to discuss something very important. You don't have to worry about the distance. I will cover the expenses". He said more like in a pleading tone.

"Hmm.. no problem. I can't turn down my Alpha's request, Can I?" I chuckled lightly.

"Thanks". He said, sighing silently. I felt him releasing the breath he never knew he was holding.

"I will send you my private helicopter to come pick you up. And please, I want your personal number".

"No problem. I will send it to you". He hung up the call immediately.

"What did he say?" Nelly rushed towards my side thrilled, to enquire. Her face was saddled with a curiosity I've never seen before.

"He wants us to meet up". I shook my shoulders in disbelief, Nelly frowned thinking I was rejecting the offer.

"Oh My God, Yvonne. I'm really happy for you". She squealed, hugging me tightly. I laughed out in excitement, she wouldn't let me rest.

It's true, it's real. My heart sank in excitement and I screamed out excitedly after her.

Jeff, my long-time, cute, Alpha, prince charming wants to see me. He seeks my presence. This is definitely gonna be an undeniable unforgettable moment.

The charity gala had ended two hours early, a small mercy I hadn’t expected. I clutched my clutch bag tighter, my knuckles turning white as I ascended the grand staircase of the Pack House. For five years, I had walked these halls as Luna of the Blood Moon Pack, yet the walls felt colder every day. My wolf, usually a source of comfort, paced anxiously in the back of my mind, scratching at my consciousness with a low, mournful whine. “Nicholas?” I called out softly as I pushed open the double doors to the Alpha suite. Silence greeted me, heavy and suffocating. The room was dark, save for a sliver of light spilling from under the bathroom door. The sound of running water cut through the quiet, accompanied by a scent that made my stomach churn—thick, heavy musk. It was the smell of an Alpha in the throes of deep arousal. My heart hammered against my ribs.

On the night of his birthday, Jude Mitchell, the Lycan Prince, had too much to drink and mistook me for my cousin, Summer. Things got out of hand in the living room. The next morning, he asked me how much money I wanted. I wiped my sweaty palms and pretended nothing happened, using sign language to communicate. "It was all a misunderstanding, nothing to worry about." As I left, his friend, a Delta from his pack, asked, "Your Highness, you’re just going to let her walk away like that? Aren’t you worried she’ll go to the Alpha?" Jude lazily blew out a puff of smoke, his Alpha aura faintly pulsing, though I could feel its weight even as an Omega. "She’s just a mute Omega. What can she do?" As he wished, I took the money and moved out that very night. His words cut into me like knives, tearing me apart inside. My wolf whimpered softly in the back of my mind, a faint presence I rarely acknowledged.
