Chapter 2

Yvonne's POV

On the day my journey was scheduled, I woke up too early, beaming with smiles. I couldn't sleep the night before. I was thrilled and excited and wasn't able to sleep a minute. I remembered how I broke the news to my mom and dad. They were so proud of me and advised me to be of my best behavior but I was not going to pretend for the Alpha Prince. I would never think that Alpha Jeff would take up admiration for me. That would be a dream come true.

I put on simple makeup, a fine linen sexy gown matching with black heels. I walked out of the house like the Queen which I was. I was giggling and beaming with smiles.

"Miss Yvonne". My driver asked as I near the car.

"Yes". He smiled sweetly at me. I got guided into a tinted black Limousine and we drove away. The back seat was occupied only by me. I felt like a princess taking a ride, No, a Queen. The car was fascinating and had a perfect AC. I gaze out of the window all through the ride.

"Sorry, can I get water?" I asked when I was feeling thirsty.

"Yes ma'am. You can get it in the refrigerator".

"The refrigerator?" I repeated.

"It's not stressful at all, my Queen. Just press the green button beside you." Wow… I pressed it and the door opened bringing out a chilling, cool air. I love this. This is amazing. That's why I'm a big fan of tech. I widened my eyes to the drinks that were neatly arranged. This is great! I smirked. I picked out a cup and poured myself a drink while enjoying the ride to Jeff's castle. There was this feeling of relaxation and excitement in me. The ride went smoothly and it lasted for two hours.

We entered through a gate and I watched in awe how big and magnificent the buildings in the palace were. I stepped out of the car in my expensive outfit which my manager, Nelly, chose for me. The driver guided me towards a building. The building was bigger than the rest and it stood out more than the rest.

"You can sit here". He gestured towards a couch in the living room. "The Alpha Prince will join you soon". I nodded and walked over to the couch. The living room was out of the world. Everything seems white and golden, perfect taste.

Soon, I heard footsteps from the staircase and I knew instinctively that he was the one. I looked up at the staircase. He was wearing a white shirt and a pair of gray pants which hugged his body perfectly well, His shirt was not too buttoned up to his neck which exposed his masculine captivating chest. He was more than good-looking, far more than the last time we met. I've always loved him and I wish he could reciprocate it. If it's just for once, I will be glad. Jeff!

Before me now sat the most handsome man I'd ever seen. I'd really do anything for him.

"Good morning, Your Highness." I greeted with a smile.

"Wow," he commented with a sigh of surprise. "I think I should be the one calling you by that name. Anyway, good morning Yvonne. How was your ride here?" His voice was lovely and had become more deep.

"I loved it. It was thrilling". I grinned.

Silence filled the air while he stared at me with great lust, taking my mind back to those times I had a crush on him. Immediately, he stood up and gestured to me to do the same.

"Get up. Let me take you out, it's too informal to meet for the first time here. We can discuss more there".

We got into his luxury latest G-wagon, where we took a ride to one of the most expensive restaurants in the pack. By merely sighting here, you realized this is not a restaurant for the average class. This is a five-star.

We were directed to the VIP section where we became the only ones using it. We sat around a table while he made the order.

"Do you need something?" The waiter asked.

"Nope. Just give me what he ordered already." I replied.

"You look better than in your school days. You've grown prettier." I blushed at his words. He has never complimented me before. Always avoided me like a plaque in school. Money and fame do change things, it changes how people look at you, how they see you. It buys respect. A new you!

"Yvonne". He called out while we were eating. I hummed a reply to him and urged him to speak.

"I really need your help on something". He said with all seriousness and I became a bit tense. The Alpha Prince, the arrogant Alpha Jeff needs my help? This better be good, I wouldn't accept anything less.

"I know I have been so mean to you during our high school days but I want to make up with you, I was scared I wouldn't meet my mate if I get to mingle with you". I stared at him confused and lost. This in itself sounds so lame.

"What do you mean?"

"Please, let me". He said and went down on his knees bringing out a ring. An expensive diamond ring. I gasped and stood up immediately.

"W..What are you doing, Yvonne"? I stuttered. He must be kidding, I'm shocked.

"Accept the ring and I will make you understand". I looked around and saw that no one was in sight.

Jeff has been serious. So Serious!

I smiled widely and slipped the ring to my fingers. It looks so enchanting. I will never let these moments pass.

"This ring is expensive, Yvonne".

"Yes, it's from Dubai".

"Really. How much is it?"

"Thirty million dollars". I looked at him, losing sense of myself. Well, he has money. A lot of it! But still, I couldn't comprehend.

"What?" I screamed out aloud. He came closer and hugged me tightly to himself.

"You will have more than this if you accept my deal.

I stood admiring the mansion in front of me with my mouth agape. It was breathtaking.. Each corner of the wall was beautifully carved. This building is worth millions and Jeff spoke in a language I couldn't quite understand but at least I could guess it meant good.

"It's yours". I screamed out aloud and rushed forward. It has a carpark and a car was packed in it.

"And everything in it". I gasped and walked inside the building admiring the color. The designs were made with complete care. Spotless white paint with sky blue, the house was undeniably breathtaking. The well trimmed plants added beauty to the compound and mansion.

I turned back to Jeff and wondered why he's doing all this.

"Tell me, what do you want?" He grinned at me and pulled me down to sit.

"I need a wife to stay long on the Alpha's throne or else I would be dethroned and my twin would rule the Southern Crescent Pack together with his".

"Then, get your mate".

"I don't know where she is. That's the problem. Yvonne!" I stared at him wondering what he really wanted me to do.

"Do y..you w..wan..t me to act as your wife?" A contractual marriage came to mind.

"No, I want you to be my real wife". He said. I stared at him gobsmacked and tried processing. Isn't this wrong?

"Isn't it wrong?"

"No, it isn't. You are helping me, Yvonne and I'm sure the moon goddess won't find anything wrong about it.

"I..I don't think I can do this".

"But you like me, don't you?" He asked. I sighed and felt stupid. Have always wanted him, now it's the time. Buh what if he comes across with his mate?

"Yvonne!"

"I will do it". I voiced out not minding the consequences. This building costs a whole lot of money. Millions of dollars. He bought a ring worth three million dollars. A diamond ring from Dubai for me. And I love him. I really love him.

"Thanks Yvonne. You don't know how much this means to me".

"So, am I staying here?"

"No, you will stay with me at the Castle."

"You know I can't stay with you there, the law of this pack, from the moon goddess, doesn't allow that."

"Nothing will happen. I've brought numerous ladies and nothing happened to them. Will it then happen to you that I want to marry?" Wow… My eyes fell at his words and I tore my gaze away from him.

"I didn't mean it that way".

"I understand. But I can't live with you over there still, I would only attract a lot of attention". The moon goddess is against unmarried couples to live together in the pack. Whoever defiles the law, the woman will be barren while the guy won't be able to produce kids. You are the Alpha and you can't take such risks, you need kids.

"I'm not ready to risk my life". I muttered silently.

The charity gala had ended two hours early, a small mercy I hadn’t expected. I clutched my clutch bag tighter, my knuckles turning white as I ascended the grand staircase of the Pack House. For five years, I had walked these halls as Luna of the Blood Moon Pack, yet the walls felt colder every day. My wolf, usually a source of comfort, paced anxiously in the back of my mind, scratching at my consciousness with a low, mournful whine. “Nicholas?” I called out softly as I pushed open the double doors to the Alpha suite. Silence greeted me, heavy and suffocating. The room was dark, save for a sliver of light spilling from under the bathroom door. The sound of running water cut through the quiet, accompanied by a scent that made my stomach churn—thick, heavy musk. It was the smell of an Alpha in the throes of deep arousal. My heart hammered against my ribs.

On the night of his birthday, Jude Mitchell, the Lycan Prince, had too much to drink and mistook me for my cousin, Summer. Things got out of hand in the living room. The next morning, he asked me how much money I wanted. I wiped my sweaty palms and pretended nothing happened, using sign language to communicate. "It was all a misunderstanding, nothing to worry about." As I left, his friend, a Delta from his pack, asked, "Your Highness, you’re just going to let her walk away like that? Aren’t you worried she’ll go to the Alpha?" Jude lazily blew out a puff of smoke, his Alpha aura faintly pulsing, though I could feel its weight even as an Omega. "She’s just a mute Omega. What can she do?" As he wished, I took the money and moved out that very night. His words cut into me like knives, tearing me apart inside. My wolf whimpered softly in the back of my mind, a faint presence I rarely acknowledged.
