Trip to Vermeil Island

The cold breeze swept pass through the leaves of elms and hockey, producing horrendous sounds as it was making the night under the full moon ,more cold and dreadful. Many lives were taken under this moon light by the forbidden creatures.

He was running for his life as he didn't care about the thorns coming in his way. He just wanted to get out of this Island. The beauty of this Island attracted him but least did he know that it wasn't the beauty of the Island but his death.

He stumbled over some rock as a result his knees got scratched but he didn't stop as at that time his life was more important. Running through the wild forests the faces of his family were coming in his figment of imagination. He was praying to listen the voice of his daughter ,once before dying. He wanted to see his wife who got anxious just for coming one hour late from office. He looked back to see as if someone is coming as he couldn't see anyone but luck wasn't at his side as he collided with someone causing him to fall back on the ground as that person's rock like chest was enough to do it.

"P-please." He crawled back as he joined his hands to beg them to have mercy but that old creatures didn't even know about mercy so how could they do that?

"You run so fast man. You should participate in marathon." One of them spoke up with mockery in his voice.

" But you know what? We didn't like to run so we had to stop you like this." Other one came forward with a smirk on his face.

"L-leave me. I-I beg you." He started crying in full flow ignoring the fact that he was a man. They laughed at his miserable state which seemed funny to them but that wasn't funny indeed ,they were just used to it as they were blood sucking creatures.

Everyone was enjoying his state but they all got alert as a man came from behind them, whose face he couldn't see, as there were fog everywhere. He was coming through the fog as his black long gown was swaying with the cold breeze. He seemed like their boss as they all bowed their head to him.

He walked through them and knelt down in front of the man crying for his life. He looked at him with no emotion as he was getting scared of his dominant aura.

"L-let me go." He again begged him.

"It's our rule ,whoever knows our existence, have to die but to ease your death I will kill you before sucking your blood" His cold radiating voice echoed in the solitude of the forest and with that, ignoring all his pleas his with one hand twisted his neck ,as a consequence, the man's dead body collapsed on the ground.

ALAINA'S POV:

We all were boarding the bus but, I was waiting for, Lidia, my friend, hadn't come yet . Professor Johnathan were surrounded by students who wanted him to solve their problems of luggage and other minor problems. I sighed looking at them.

" Where were you ? I am waiting for so long." I scolded Lidia when I saw her running towards me with her two suit cases .

"Sorry, this packing took my time ,after all we are going for three weeks"she squealed in happiness at the end of the sentence. We probed into the bus and after putting our luggage all settled in their seats. At the beginning of our journey, the guide whose name might be Caleb ,with dark brown eyes and almost 6 feet height give us a brief introduction about the Island.

"Why this Island is called Vermeil Island?" Lidia asked him after raising her hand.

"Ahh. Good question . Whats your name please?" He stopped for a minute then asked in his deep husky voice.

"Lidia"

"So Lidia do you know the meaning of vermeil"

"Yes it's known as silver glint which is known for its shine" Lidia was one of the toppers in our literature class, who knew about every minor details of new words in vocabulary and their meanings.

"Yes , so there are many myths about it but the most heard is that there was a queen who was admired by the beauty of this island because it looked so enticing so she decided to spend her autumn there under the yellow old trees of elm and hickory . But the glint of that Island was fake .There she fall in love with a commoner named Ian , but he betrayed her because he was a vampire and wanted a broken heart to free himself from the curse . That's why this Island is also called decepted island, which deceived everyone with it's fake glint,because of the betrayal faced about the queen."

" I know ,its just a myth ,but be careful don't fall in love with anyone there.''He added in a mischeivious tone ,to lightened the air in the bus which got tense after hearing this tragic story.

"But what happened to the queen" I asked out of curiosity .

"umm that no one knows ,and its just a myth there is nothing real in this."he said with a reassuring smile.

"Oh come on vampires are not real" James the play boy of our school with no good but bad reputation in college, spoke up.

"What do you mean? they can be real, you never know" Lidia fires back.

"Have you ever seen them"and the rants continued .

I don't know they are real or not ,but they can be , there are millions of creatures in the universe they may be in one of them.

After withdrawing our luggage from the bus we head to the small boats.

"I can't believe we are going there by boat" Lidia spoke through amazement.

"Me too,I have never been in a boat" I answered with an excited smile . I never went on a trip nor in high school but Lidia forced me this time and I couldn't say no to her puppy dog eyes. Due to my introvert attitude I had only few friends and lidia was one of them.

"Your luggage will be delievered to your respective camps just put them there and board on the boats."Caleb said and we did as we were told.

We both squealed when we step onto the boat causing it to move up and down , we started laughing.

Soon we reached the island ,and we all eyed the island full of elm and hickory trees , with approbation. The Island was looking beautiful and divine but the eerie silence seemed to me apparitional. I shook my head and move towards caleb who was giving us briefing about the rules and the places , where we are not allowed to go.

"You guyz can't go anywhere without being informed, no individual will use such things which can cause a blazing fire, if you have a problem or you want permission to go somewhere you will contact our section head Aaron Miller . Any questions?" Caleb pointed behind him , I tilted my head to see who he was ,due to the crowd ahead me.

Then a tall man with a well built athletic muscular body appeared from behind him and addressed the students. He had raven hair from which one flick was touching his eye brows, dark plum lips with amber colored eyes which were as cold as ice, with no emotions. He was breathtakingly handsome who could make any woman drool over him easily.

"You people can roam around anywhere except the southern region of Island , if anyone will be found in that area then he will be charge a heavy fine and will be thrown out of this Island. I hope you guyz understand . Any questions from your side." He said in deep authoratative voice.

We all nodded our head and everyone went to install their own barracks. I and Lidia were sharing the same one ,so we started to install our ,at one side.

"This tour is gonna be our best one" Lidia said as we hold the string of the barrack.

" I hope so". I said staring at the cloudy sky which was that indicating rain is coming.

We were aligned in a row ready for going on a lake near our camp. Everyone was calling their attendance to Caleb and beside , Aaron was standing talking to Professor Johnathan.

I didn’t know but I was feeling an attraction towards him which I never felt towards anyone before.

After calling the attendance we all headed in three groups towards the lake. Lidia and I had camera through which we were taking pictures in different poses. After walking for some time we reached that lake surrounded with willow trees.

“Wow” we exclaimed after seeing the wonderful sight ahead us. The cool breeze made us to rub our arms with our palms. Caleb told us to install our barracks here as we were staying here tonight for bonfire.

“Again” Installing the barracks ,were the most hectic work but we had to do this if we want to sleep under some kind of shelter.

“Excuse me” I said to Lidia as my phone started ringing.

“Hello” I said to my mom coming at the side ,away from the noise.

“Hello mom I can’t hear you” There was signal problems so I raise my phone to catch them standing on the big stone. I moved a little but slipped my foot as my face was about to met the ground I was in an embraced of man. I turned my face to meet with the cold amber eyes. His arms were around my waist our nose was almost touching I could feel his cold breath on my lips. He stared in my eyes then darted his eyes on my lips, he leaned forward and I, in a trans state, also leaned in.

But other foot also slipped from the stone but I regained my balance before meeting the ground. We both were startled and looked everywhere but each other.

“Um.. thank you otherwise I would probably broke my nose” I said lighting the situation while rubbing my hands due to cold or remove my embarrassment as I was leaning to kiss him.

“You are welcome. I think you got a sprain in your ankle” he said pointing towards my foot which I was raising due to pain.

“um think so” I said with flushed cheeks biting my lower lip to ease the pain .

“eeeeehh” I was drowned in my thoughts when he without warning embraced me in his arms in a bridal style.

“What are you doing?” I asked as I interlace my arms around his neck, preventing to fell, but I was looking like a tiny small cat in between his muscular body.

“There is a first aid box in my camp” With that he entered the barrack and placed me on the rolled mattress as there was no chair for me to sit. His barrack was large from our, it should be, after all he was the head of this guiding team. He sat on his knee in front of me with a first aid box in his lap.

“You should be careful because it’s slippery here due to rain”

“Hsss” I hissed as he grab my foot gently and placed it on his kneecap.

“Does it hurt?” he glanced at me while examining my foot.

“A little” I said in my meek voice, because my senses got paralyzed due to his intimidating personality, his black button up shirt seemed like it would rip off any second due to his well built sturdy muscles.

“It’s a little sprain which will get heal by tomorrow” he said in deep voice, before taking out the spray from the box and sprayed it on my ankle.

“Thank you for this” I said with a smile.

“No problem, safety of every student here is our responsibility” he said placing back the first aid box.

“Hey Alaina are you alright” I was about to say something but Lidia came in.

“Yeah just a little sprain, I got slipped” I stated as I saw her face became tense after hearing my sprain. She was my childhood friend, always like a caring and loving friend to me.

“Now you are fine right”

“Yup, totally fine, Aaron gave me a first aid” I signaled to Aaron while he was staring at me with an emotion which I couldn’t give any name.

“Thanks again”

“Let me help you” Lidia handed me her hand as we went out of the barrack, after I thank him again.

“Nope that’s fine it’s my duty after all” With that we exit his barrack.

“So what was that” Lidia asked me as I was busy thinking about his weird personality. He was different from others, something about him was odd.

“What? There is nothing like that you are thinking”.

“Ohh really but why you guyz were looking each other like that” she asked with a suspicious look on her face.

“I was just got slipped from that stone, Aaron was there so he helped me and it’s his duty to help us as we are his responsibility.” I said as I hold her hand to jump as we were heading to our barrack through that roughly path full of stones.

“Yeah we all are his responsibility but he is fulfilling his duty in your case only” I knew she was just teasing me then.

“Oh my virgin merry is going to fly away with his prince charming soon” I just rolled my eyes.

“But remember what Caleb said about don’t fall in love with anyone in this island”

“Talking about me” Caleb came from nowhere when we were talking.

“No we were just talking” I spoke up as i noticed a pink shade on Lidia’s cheeks. Something is fishy.

“I came here to tell you that sadly the plan of bonfire has been cancelled for today”

“But why” we both asked in unison as we were excited for today’s bonfire.

“Sorry but we can’t do it today because according to the weather forecast it might rain tonight” he said apologetically after seeing our sad expressions.

“It’s ok but we will do it tomorrow night.”

“Hope so” he went away giving a smile to Lidia.

“So what was that” when he went back I asked Lidia who was still staring at his back in a mesmerize state but compose her posture after hearing my voice.

“What” I raised my eye brow.

“There is nothing he just helped me, when you were gone, in installing the barrack that’s it nothing happened” she explained.

“And are you sure that nothing will happen in the future” I asked with a smirk.

“um ah I don’t know ,now shut up ok”

“You are blushing” I laughed pinching her crimson cheeks. After few seconds she joined me too in laughing.

Beautiful Nature

I was sleeping peacefully in night but my heart turned wild when I felt someone's presence beside me. I didn't know who it was as I couldn't open my eyes. This couldn't be Lidia as the secnt wasn't hers. It was a familiar one. A hand on my thighs made me sure it wasn't Lidia. I didn't know but I liked the touch as whoever the person was now gliding his hands up to my inner thigh . I was already wet. I didn't feel like this before as the person rubbed my core with his hands letting a moan escape from my lips. He was caressing it gently. My breath got hitched as I felt someone's cold breath against my ear.

"Mine!" Someone's voice reached my ear as he was very closed to my neck. Years gathered in my eyes as a desire erupted down there about which I didn't know what was it as I haven't done sex before. A throaty chuckled reached my ear as I pressed my thighs with each other to overcome the heat there but all in vain. Tears gathered pace as his hand started unzipping my pants. I tried to move but I couldn't do so. I couldn't feel anything after that as darkness surrounded me and I went into a deep slumber as that person pressed a vein under my ear.

The very next day , I woke up early ,Lidia was still sleeping. I tried to remember something from last night but after realizing the environment I sighed in relief as it was a dream. I didn't know but that feeling was strange.

After wearing a skin cardigan over my lemon yellow tank top with my camera in hand I went outside. I wanted to capture every beautiful sight so I could show it to my mother who was a great nature admirer.

I was capturing the beautiful sights but stopped as I heard Aaron beside me.

“What are you doing here?” he came in front of me in black T-shirt with black leather jacket on it and same black pants. He is addict to black.

“Like what you see” he said with a smirk as he caught me gawking at him.

“No I was just wondering you wear black only” I blurted out before he could think something else about me.

He raised an eyebrow towards me like Do you have any problem miss?

“No I um” I started blabbering. His one side of lips twitched upwards slightly and I was sure that I had become a beetroot by then. Ignoring my state he gestured me to walk beside him with his hands on his back .We started walking between the elm trees whose leaves were falling due to continuous blowing wind. I started rubbing my left arm with right hand palm with camera in the left hand, I blamed myself as I didn’t wear anything warmer but I saw Aaron on my left side having no impact of cool breeze.

“It’s very cold here” I blurted out.

“Indeed it is” I rolled my eyes when I heard his emotionless voice.

“Don’t roll your eyes at me” my eyes widen in shock.

“How do you know..I.. um …”I was shocked because my face was not facing him so he could know.

“I sensed it” he shrugged his shoulders like No big deal.

Again silence took place between us, I didn’t know on which topic I should talk to him he was so cold ,people should think twice before talking to him.

“So for how many years you are working as a guide” I asked facing him. His face turned dark but answered me. “Many years I don’t know exactly”

“Many but you don’t seem that old” I chuckled, he looks only few years older than me.

He clenched his jaw. “You shouldn’t come alone outside its wild forest here.”

“I just want to capture the views here”

“You love natural things right”

“Yes I love it but my mom is bigger admirer of nature than me” I smiled while telling him about my mother. His eyes for the first time soften at the mention of mother. May be he is missing his mother like I am.

“How is your foot?” he suddenly stopped and turned towards me . “Oh it’s better now” I answered back as I swing my foot a little.

“You shouldn’t we walking for so long it might get swell more.” He said with a concerned look on his face, which made my heart flutter. He knelt down and put my foot on his knee and started spreading thumb on my ankle after raising my pant from there, which made me to bite my lip.

“Its better now” he stood up walked away.

We were preparing for bonfire. I and Lidia went in the forest to collect some wood to burn.

“You collect from there and I will from there.” After telling her we both went to our respective sides. There were many tree trunks and branches but most of them were soaked due to rain and Caleb asked us to not collect soaked branches as they will produce smoke which will cause itching in our eyes. I sighed throwing the soaked one after grabbing it because I thought collecting branches would be the easiest thing but it was everything but easy. I was busy in my work when I felt someone’s hand on my shoulder, first I thought it might be Lidia but the hand was rough and hard as compared to Lidia. I turned around to find an old woman with lots of wrinkles around her small eyes she was wearing stones jewels and a stick in her hand to take support from it due to Camptocormia, bending spine.

“Ah um do you want something?” I asked hesitantly as her face was a little bit scary.

“You should be careful there are many creatures here who want a pure heart” she said in her rough voice and went away staring at me.

“Did you collect” Lidia’s voice brought me back from my thoughts which were still revolving around that old lady.

What does she mean by creatures?

“Yup it’s done . Let’s go” we went back.

“Do you believe in creatures other than human” I asked her on our way back to the lake.

“Um I don’t know but they might be present because the universe is so big if there can be 7500 varieties of apples so there must be different varieties in God creatures too” she said while she put her long chestnut color hairs behind her ears, she was popular among one of the most beautiful nerds in college but she never paid attention to this as she was an introvert like me. I nodded my head.

“Why are you asking by the way?” she said facing me.

“No I was just wondering you know about that queen who was betrayed here”

“Yup I was also wondering to ask Caleb about the whole story as he didn’t tell us the whole story”

“You have feelings for Caleb right ?” I asked her seeing the smile on her lips just by taking his name.

“Just like you have for Aaron?” she turned towards me with a frown.

“What are you talking about?”

“I know you do admit it?”

“ Ok I do but he is very cold and mysterious. I can’t do anything. You tell me did you talk to Caleb?

“No why should I talk to him if he likes me he should talk to me first.” She said raising her head arrogantly. We both started laughing.

“Hello girls what are you laughing at hn?” James came in front of us as reached the barracks. We both rolled our eyes because we know his flirty behavior.

“Do you want something James?”Lidia asked as we put the branches on the ground.

“No, nothing special I saw you guyz were wondering here and there so I thought I should ask you as a gentleman for tonight”

“What’s tonight ?” we both asked in unison.

“Bonfire”

“So?”

“So we all have to do a couple dance don’t you guyz already know about it?” he asked rolling his eyes.

“No we don’t know about it and even if we knew we would never dance with you by any chance” Lidia spoke up by placing her right hand on her hips.

“You bitch” James moves toward us but stopped as Caleb brought him back by grabbing him by his collars. Caleb was few inches taller than James so he pushed him back gently with a fake smile and cold stare.

“Relax bro” his cold stare was enough for him to revert.

“Thanks” we appreciate him . he shook his head and went away giving a angry stare to Lidia.

“In addition to handsome and hot ,he is brave too” I said to Lidia who was staring at his back.

“Shut up” we started assembling the braches in the centre where we had to burn them.

We all gave credit to ourselves for the wonderful preparation of bonfire we use fairy lights attached with batteries everywhere and in the background shower was played in the speakers. In the centre was the bonfire to which Caleb and Aaron was still trying to burn the wooden sticks. They were chatting with each other too it seemed like they were good friends. I had only seen Aaron talking to him or sometimes with Professor Jonathan for official purposes. The sticks were on fire after few minutes which cast a smile on Aaron face ,a really slight smile , but that was making him more hot.

We all took our respective seats when Professor asked us . Our class representative Jade gave a welcoming speech to everyone to which everyone gave bigger smiles on their faces including us. Aaron was sitting beside Caleb and Caleb was beside Lidia who obviously was sitting beside me. I saw Caleb brought Aaron by grabbing him by his arm like he don’t want to come but Caleb made him to come. Soon we started to play different games and ended up in do what’s written in the chit . First dare came on James and he took one chit from the bowl in which was written to drink a whole bottle of beer which he did gladly. And I thought how many times he will use toilet after drinking so much in this cold. The third dare came on Lidia , she took out the chit and read out loud.

“Kiss the person on your right side ” my eyes widen in shock , trying a failed attempt , not to smile I faced her who was turning into beetroot because the person on her right side was Caleb.

First Kiss

Caleb situation was not so different from Lidia .

“Do it” everyone started cheering including me but stopped earning a glare from her. She turned to face him after few moments of hesitation she leaned in to kiss him on the cheek and with a slight peck she straightened up quickly.

“That wasn’t the kiss asked for” I leaned on her ear and whispered.

“I know but I don’t want to do my first kiss in front of everyone.” She said in disappointment.

“Don’t worry you shouldn’t ruin your plans for your first kiss”

The game resumed and different dares were asked to do. I got bored but suddenly bottles stopped pointing towards me. I hesitantly took out chit from the bowl and read it aloud.

“Sit on the person's lap sitting in front of you” my bad, in front of me James was sitting, who was eying me with abhorrence. I didn’t want to do it but I had too. I was about to stand up but stopped hearing Aaron

“ Enough , end this game now and head to towards your respective camps” he said with so much authority in his cold voice that no one even dare to say anything. His knuckles turned white as he was clenching his wrist .

Is he boiling with anger because I was asked to sit on James lap?

We all stood up after hearing him. We all were exhausted especially I and Lidia as we collected branches in the forests so we went into the barrack.

“What does she mean?”I told Lidia about the encounter with that old lady because her words were roaming in my head.

She wants me to be careful from the creatures what creatures? .

“Human beings are also creatures she must be talking about them” Lidia told about her thoughts and lay down on the mattress so she could sleep.

“May be” I answered her .

“hm now go to sleep today was a hectic day” with that she drifted to sleep.

I was about to sleep but I saw a shadow ,on our barrack, passed by. I thought to check who he was? because its late midnight and after what Aaron said no one would come out. Curiosity took over me . I stepped out of the camp with a torch in my hand. The sounds of howling wild animals from the deep forest were making the environment more horrendous. I heard a sound of steps from the eastern side of lake, I followed the sound and stepped on the rough path between the trees. The trees were bent making the path more dark so I turned my torch on and walked in its light. I walked few steps following the sound but my torch turned off.

Ahhh!!! damn Battery. I cursed under my breath. I was patting the torch so that it might turn on because I had to go back and the path was deadly dark. I was busy in turning on the torch ,but shrieked when I felt someone’s hand on my shoulder . I turned back abruptly to find Aaron in front of me as usual in black attire.

“You scared me” I placed a hand on my heart.

“What are you doing here”? He said crossing his arms on his chest with deadly cold eyes.

“ I… I c..couldn’t sleep so I thought to go for a walk.” I mumbled lowering my head which I thought he barely listened . I looked up to see his eyes soften.

“ Come with me” he without waiting for my answer held my hand in his large one and dragged me with him I didn’t know where?. He was walking one step ahead of me holding my hand which was so cold as compared to me. His gesture of holding my hand makes my heart flutter .

“ Where are we going?” I asked him .

“ you couldn’t sleep right ?” he asked in his deep voice. I nodded my head.

“ so you should avail this opportunity and must see this sight.” With that he stopped and for the first time saw at my direction after grabbing my hand stopped and signaled me through his eyes to look ahead while I was staring at his hot features. I was startled and looked ahead with blushed cheeks. The sight in front of me was breathtaking. The whole moon was covered with stars with a thin sliver moon, the waxing crescent moon. Today was the first phase of moon. For me, being a nature lover, was the best thing ihave ever seen . I always love stargazing but couldn’t get the time to do it because of my hectic routine , college in the morning and part time job at the cafe in the evening and rest of the time doing my homework, I was topper of my badge for a reason. There was me and my mom only at home so I had to do work with studies to pay my college ees and other essentials.

“ like it?” Aaron came beside me .

“ like it I love it Aaron . thank you so much.” I jumped on him and throw my arms around his neck to hug him. He was startled for a second but then hugged me back. I was contented by his gesture and on contrary to that the thoughts that why he bring me here ? do he have something for me? Was making me thrilled.

I moved back and mumbled a small sorry to become over excited . He gave me a full blown smile to which I was shocked because he hardly smiled. He sat on the dead grass and signaled me to sit with him too . I sat beside him with a decent distance between us because I don’t want him to think bad of me.

“So how do you know this place?” I asked him because the place was far away from the lake.

“Because I live here” he chuckled at my question. I thought he came with us as a guide just like Caleb.

“You live here?” I questioned him raising my arms gesturing to this mysterious island.

“Yes this is my home?”

“So for how long have you been living here” he smiled bitterly “ Don’t know it’s quite many years. Hoes your foot now?” he turned towards me remembering about my foot. I assured him that it was absolutely fine. He told me he also couldn’t sleep due to Professor Jonathan who was snoring loudly, when I asked him about being outside in the dark. I started laughing hearing this but stopped when found him staring at me followed by his gaze on my lips he leaned in and me too . his cold lips touch mine which sets my whole body on fire . his one hand was on my cheek and other grabbed my waist to pressed me more into him, while my hands were grabbing his collars. We were kissing slowly yet passionately. We broke the kiss when we were out of breath and he rested his forehead on mine.

“I am sor…” He moved his forehead away from me and started saying something but I stopped him by again placing my lips on his. He also started kissing me after few seconds but this time he kissed me passionately .He bit my lower lip to get excess of mouth to which I hesitantly opened because I never kissed a guy before except that one in school but forget it that does not count. His lips were devouring my mouth hungrily. We again collided our foreheads after ceasing the kiss.

“ You are beautiful” he said putting my honey brown locks behind my ear, to which I slightly blushed. He smiled at my blushing. He was boring his face in crook of my neck but stopped abrubtly hearing shuddering sounds from the bushes behind me .

“It’s late now you should go back to your barrack” his eyes again got cold .i nodded and stand up because if Lidia woke up she will get anxious not finding me on my place.

Using me

We went back in light of Aaron’s phone. We both were not saying anything but walking side by side.

“ Good night then” I said as we reached my camp , crossing my arms on my chest.

“ Yeah good night and sleep . Don’t come outside if not necessary in night." I nodded my head and after few moments of awkwardness we again greet each other good night wishes , I went inside my barrack. I entered and found Lidia sleeping peacefully. I wanted to scream harder out of joy my heart started pounding remembering the moments we just shared . he kissed me ! he kissed me! Only these words were roaming around my head. I laid in my place biting my lips and eventually drifted to sleep thinking about him.

I woke up hearing the sounds of students doing exercise which Caleb was accomplishing . Someone was talking yesterday that he also worked as a trainer in gym that’s why he had a brawny muscular body. I woke up and saw the time I slept late at night that’s why I woke up late. I went outside and saw Lidia was approaching me. I wanted to tell her everything as she was my best friend and had a right to know what was going on in her best friend’s life. “ Hey you all good?” she asked me standing beside me.

“ Yes I am why you are asking?” I turned my face to her. “ No its nothing you woke up late today so I just asked” . Is shook my head , and was about to go but Lidia stopped me by saying

"Caleb was asking for yoy he was looking a little bit worried.” She looked at me. “ I don’t know why he was looking for me. There would be some work may be he was looking for it” I shrugged my shoulders not know exactly what work Caleb had from me?.

“ May be” Lidia spoke to me. Then added “ Go freshen up we are going for hiking today” she excitedly jumped from her feet. I laughed at her and went to accomplish my daily morning chores.

When I came back I joined the exercise . Caleb stopped for a minute when he spotted me then again started. His face was looking more stern as compared to the other days. I didn’t know what was triggering him but had a gut feeling that it involved me. After doing exercise, we all were going to get ready for today’s hiking on the western side of the island. I was finding Lidia when Caleb approached me.

“ Hey” he tried to smile. I smiled back and greeted him. I waited for him to speak . He was looking at me like arranging the words in his mind.

“ You know in bus I told a story about a queen who was betrayed?” I nodded my head in affirmation I and Lidia wanted to hear full story from him in detail. I really feel bad for the queen who was betrayed . How could a person broke someone’s heart only for their sake.

“ And I also told something else, related to this.” I looked at him in confusion as I couldn’t remember anything.

“ I told you not to fall in love with someone here or otherwise you will get betrayed like the queen” he said with a serious tone, which erupted goosebumps all over by bare arms.

“ Yeah but that was just a myth” I tried to smile but he didn’t .

“ Still I am warning you to be careful you are here for just three weeks then you will go back” he didn’t wait for my answer and went away leaving me in pool of questions .

What he is talking about? Is he talking about Aaron and me? May be he told him about us after all they are friends. But why he is telling me to be careful?

I shook my head to erase negative thoughts from my mind and went for Lidia . We all starting preparing for hiking I and Lidia wore same black shirts with white puffy insulated jackets with attached hood and wool hats from which our hairs were cascading down to our chests. We both had long hairs as we love our hairs. We wore our hiking boots went outside where everyone was already gathered and waiting for Professor Jonathan and Aaron. I didn’t see him from morning.

Is he ignoring me? Is he regretting our actions from last night? Negative thoughts started erupting in my brain. Aaron came with Professor Jonathan and went in front of the students to guide them . He was wearing grey button up shirt with black jacket. He didn’t wear much warm clothes which I don’t know why? We started to step forward with hiking sticks in our hands. We entered the forest, after some time steep land started immerging which compelled us to use our hiking sticks. I was hiking for the first time in my life so I was excited and thrilled but one piece of my heart was sad for Aaron who didn’t talk to me yet. Lidia and I started taking pictures while everybody moved forward. We didn’t realize that we were only left there and everybody moved ahead. I was taking picture of Lidia with my camera but stopped when I saw someone behind her. He was a big man with bulky arms and contrary to that he wasn’t wearing any shirt , our face became flushed seeing some random man in the middle of the forest in shirt only and that is also in the cold. From his face it doesn’t seem like that he was feeling cold . We were gawking at him and he was seeing at us with a smirk.

“Alaina”

“Lidia”

We saw Aaron and Caleb coming screaming our name. They both stood in front of us so that we couldn’t see the man, their backs were facing us, while they started talking to him. “What are you doing here Thomas?” They said to him whose name was Thomas which was quite old but he was looking in his twenties like Aaron. “I just want to say hello to these pretty girls” we heard him saying as we can’t see him.

“Just go from here ?” Aaron said with gritted teeth. I could sense his body tense. “ There is nothing here of your concern . Just go from here.” With that Caleb held Lidia’s hand and Aaron grabbed mine and dragged us with them not before giving him a deadly glare. I turned back to find him smirking at me. Weird

"Can we dare to ask what you guyz were doing back there?” Caleb asked in an angry tone.

“We just want to take some pictures.” We mumbled. We were walking with Caleb and Aaron in front of us and we were walking with lower heads behind them. “ You will be fined for not obeying the rules.”Aaron said with a stern look eying me. We both looked at each other as we were getting ready and missed the guidelines from Professor Jonathan about rules and regulations.

“ It was one of the rules to stay with the group while going somewhere” Caleb said looking at our blunt expressions.

Soon we reached our group and they both moved forward. After staying there on the cliff for drinking water and to level our breathing we moved back for our camps. It was almost evening when we were going back . We were walking as I stopped to tie by shoe lace Lidia also stopped but moved ahead when Aaron stopped behind me .When I stood up after tying my lace everybody was already gone and I and Aaron were present. I looked at him who was staring at me with intense emotions in his eyes.

“ Did you talked with that man ? Did he tell you something?” he asked stepping closer.

“ N..no he didn’t tell anything . He just came when you guyz emerged” I don’t know why he was asking but I wanted to ask him that why it was bothering him so much and especially why that man was shirtless in this freezing breeze here.

“ Why are you asking ?” I asked him when his shoulders relaxed hearing my words.

“ Nothing he and I don’t get along . I don’t like him.” he said while grabbing me by my waist. I got startled by his sudden affection.

“What are you doing ?” I asked him in a whisper while his hold was getting tighter yet comfortable. “Resuming what we stopped last night” with he bore his head in my neck .I could feel the tingling sensation on my skin due to his cold breath. I moaned when he started nibbling me between my collar bone and neck.

“Aaron” After nibbling he bit there which compelled me to moan his name and I was sure it would leave a mark there. I feel so contented in his grip. I feel secure in an embrace of a man who I met two days before. I didn’t know him but still. I don’t even know what he feels about me and still I was letting him to do these things to me.

“ Aaron” I pushed him away as I don’t know it is right or wrong.

“ Whats wrong?” he said with amusement in his eyes. “ What are we doing?” I asked him as I was confused we were not in a relationship so why he was doing this.

“ What you mean?” he asked raiding his eyebrow.

“ I mean we are not in a relationship I can’t do this” I told him . I want to do these things but in a right manner as it was my first time attracting towards a guy.

“ I don’t do relationships” he said in cold tone. My heart clenched as he said this. So he is just using me? He just wants to gain benefits from me? Tears started appearing in my eyes but I stopped them.

“Never ever try to touch me again” saying that I almost ran away from there.

“ Alaina” he tried to stop me but I didn’t look back and went from there. My name from his mouth seems so good. I thought. Shut up you are still thinking about the man who was using you? My conscience mocked me. I reached the camps and headed towards my barrack. I collapsed on my mattress , tears started streaming from my eyes. There were many men who came in my life but I didn’t progress my relations with them from being a friend because I thought everyone was like my father who left us alone for another woman. But after seeing Aaron I thought he would be different. But he just only wanted to use me. Crying with tears soon I drifted to sleep.

We were sitting on a log after a hectic evening. We worked a lot tonight as we lifted so much weights like boxes full of crockeries which the guide company sent for us but didn't get on time due to some convenience problems. I saw one of class fellows coming towards me and Lidia.

" Hey can you please get the last boxes from the boat? " he said with flushed face as he was doing lifting for few hours.

"Yeah sure" I said to him despite the fact that I was also worn out.

" I am not coming my legs are hurting" Lidia said to which I nodded.

" Ok no problem I will take someone else" I completed the sentence when I heard him behind me.

" Let me come with you" Aaron spoke as usual in his black attire. I rolled my eyes at him and not saying anything move forward. I heard footsteps behind me indicating that he was coming. Bravo after breaking my heart he is offering me to help me.

" Alaina listen to me" My name felt so good from his mouth. Shut up! My conscience scolded me.

I didn't listen to him and keep walking.

" I said stop" this time he said in authoratative voice with a hint of anger so I had to stop but I didn't turn around. He came in front me in a swift.

" You think I am using you?" He said in his cold voice.

" Like you are not" I said with a scarcasm.

" Have I ever said anything that I wanted you to be in a relationship with me" I nodded my head in no as he never said that.

"I just kissed you and you let me do it . There is no big deal in this" My jaw almost fell on the ground . He was my first kiss and I didn't want that in this way.

"So kissing random girls is a usual thing to you" I raised my eyebrow at him.

" Of course" he said and it broke my heart. So I was the one gathering hopes . I was too silly. I lowered my head in guilt that why I let him kiss me.

" Hey" he grabbed my chin " Everything happened is in that past now move forward" he said staring at me with intense emotions. I looked at him nodding my head. That was embarrassing.

"Let's go we have to grab the boxes" he said and move forward. I followed him too.

I was making my heart understand that he was never mine but it was in pain. I was lost in my thoughts when I suddenly bumped into a rock wall but later realized that it was not a wall but back of Aaron who was not less than a tall hard wall.

"What happened?" I asked him in confusion.

" The boxes are not here" he said to me . I glanced at the ground where previous boxes were present .

" Yeah they are in the boat " I stated but his eyes turn dark hearing this. "Come let's go " I said to him while going towards the shire where boat was present.

"I can't come further" he said in a raspy voice causing me to halted in my steps.

" But why?" I asked with confusion he was acting strange.

" I have some urgent work to do" he said and went back immediately. I was alone their standing in confusion , couldn't understand his sudden mood swings. He offered me for help and now he himself went back.

I shrugged my shoulders and went to grab the boxes.

Dance

I was grabbing the boxes with the help of caleb who came when I was struggling in descending the boxes from the boat and suddenly his hand came grabbing the box with me . He stared at me with a serious emotion. Sometimes I thought that he had some type of grudge against me as he always saw me like I am doing something illegal. He offered me a hand and I let him help me as I couldn't hold them alone. We were walking towards the camps boxes in our hands.

"Did you talk with Aaron?" He asked me from nowhere. I didn't understand the point of his question like about what I had to talk with him.

"About what?" I asked with a confusion.

" About anything. You two seems very close ." He said with a stern voice .

" We are not close , we just ..we are just talk like a guide and a student " I shrugged my shoulders as I myself didn't know what we are and why we seemed so close to everyone as Lidia also thought of us like caleb did. At first I also thought that he was interested in me but he proved me wrong after confessing he didn't date anyone . I just wanted to smash his head in some these tress around us or push him in the cold lake to mrinh him around his senses beavuse if he didn't date then why he kissed me and let me gather hopes. I sighed thinking of him I was the one stupid who started thinking about him who didn't say anything to me. Might be just got attracted for a second when we were sat gazing at the stars. Whenever he about to kiss me his eyes always change they were already cold but then they turned more cold .

" It's good that you are a guide and a student only" he stated as we reached the camps. Other class fellows came to give us a hand they took boxes from me. Caleb also went with them and I moved towards Lidia who was talking to someone . I joined them . I looked around and found him nowhere wondering what work he had to do so urgent that he left me alone there knowing that I can't grab the boxes by myself. I shook my head realizing my heart that he didn't even deserve it's concern but yet it was yearning for his attention.

The weather was quite pretty but there was one thing about this Island that the sun never shines here. The sky was always cloudy there and the southern region of the Island were always surrounded by the dark grey clouds which looked very horrendous and may that's the reason that no one tried to go there after the warning from Aaron .

Today was held a bonfire again as the weather was good and there was no indication of rain . Mostly it rains there every night but when I didn't we always held a bonfire.

Everyone was sitting in their respective places with red cups in their hands . I didn't drink so I had mango juice instead of alcohol in my red cup. Everyone was enjoying games and stupid remarks from the bad boys towards the nerds including me but we didn't mind as we were used to it.

Songs were playing in the background at low volume . They were at high volume first but earning a death glare from Aaron they turned it down . He was in his usual black attire and looking breathtakingly handsome . Everyone scared of him there but said name behind him like arrogant jerk, hot asshole etc . For me he was a mystery as he was very cold in his appearance and by his eyes too . I just wanted to solve him. He was a question for me .

"Let's dance " everyone cheered up as a rock music started playing . Lidia and I also stood up for a dance. We were doing didn't know what but that was definitely not called dance. Caleb and Aaron were sitting with professor jonathan . Everyone insisted them for dance but they denied. We could expect this from professor as he was old but their denial was not fitting with us . When they asked them the reason after mocking them that they are old then stated that they just didn't like it. We shrugged and started dancing .

We were laughing at our steps as we were looking very funny but I got startled when I felt someone's body grinding with mine. I turned to look to find James smirking at me.

"Hey come dance" he was too much drunk as I could smell the alcohol from his mouth.

"I don't want it James" I tried to push him but he grabbed me by my arm and pressed me with his body by placing the other hand on my waist.

Everyone was busy enjoying there moment , no one was looking at us. I didn't want to create a scene that's why I asked him decently to let me go but he didn't listen me. He was swaying me with him forcefully with the rhythm of the music. My eyes moistened as he was not letting me go despite my pleas .

I gasped when suddenly a punch landed on James' jaw . I got started by what just happened. I looked at my saviour to find Aaron who was glaring at him in anger with his clenched fist like he would burst out in any second.

"GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF OF HER" Aaron roared making me flinch back. James looked at him terrified with his one hand on his mouth where blood was present as Aaron ouch busted his upper lip. James looked at me then at his raging form in hatred,he was about to say something but dropped the idea and went away. Obviously he couldn't fight with Aaron because he was double the size of james Luckily we didn't grab any attention.

I took a sigh but my breath got hitched as I saw towards him whose piercing amber eyes were glaring at me. I gulped thinking what had I done that he was angry at me. He took a step forward but stopped and immediately walked back . I looked at his back which disappeared in the crowd of students dancing. I didn't understand his mood swings.

Why he act like this?
