After getting married, I discovered that I was actually a mistress. Chapter 1

"He never accompanies me; I have to choose alone. I don't even know which one to pick. Could you help me?" The woman in front of me kept complaining about her husband, but I could detect the sweetness in her tone.

Yet, when I saw the diamond ring on her finger that the same with mine, I froze, feeling a chill run through me.

Didn't Adams specially order this from abroad? Could it be the same model?

The gleam from the diamond ring pierced my eyes, making my heart pound.

A woman's intuition told me this wasn't a coincidence. I casually asked, "Ms. Williams, what does your husband do?"

"He's a photographer, always fiddling with those cameras."

A photographer?

My husband is also a photographer!

The same profession and the same diamond ring made my head spin.

I nervously swallowed and said, "Do you have a photo of your husband? The wedding dress will look better when matched with the suit."

As soon as I finished speaking, the woman eagerly picked up her phone and searched for a picture.

"Oh, we're quite an old married couple; we just want to take photos to commemorate... Let me show you our wedding photos."

I quickly glanced at the phone, my hand shaking, every hair on my body standing on end.

This is Adams Williams! The husband I've been married to for five years!

"This is the photo we took under the Eiffel Tower. Our child is already one year old."

"We're planning to go to the Maldives this time for the shoot. My husband thinks it's perfect for his portfolio, and it's a great place for our whole family to go..."

She chatted innocently about her expectations, like a naive girl.

And the little boy in the photo looked like he was cast from the same mold as Adams.

I couldn't help but collapse, tears streaming down my cheeks.

"Hey! Are you okay? Help! She's fainted."

My mind went blank, and I clutched her arm tightly, gasping for air.

It turned out that Adams had betrayed me while we were dating.

We've been married for five years, yet he has a one-year-old child with someone else.

I felt like the most ridiculous person in the world.

"Someone, call an ambulance!"

My heart ached, and the churning in my stomach made everything go black.

"You're finally awake; you almost scared me to death."

"The doctor said it's low blood sugar and emotional excitement; you need to rest well. You..."

Ross's words were interrupted by a phone ring. On her screen was a photo of her with Adams Williams.

"I've sent someone to the bridal shop to pick you up. We're going to have dinner at that Japanese restaurant in West Town tonight."

She accidentally pressed the speakerphone, and from the phone came the voice I would remember for the rest of my life.

"I'm not at the bridal shop; I'm at the hospital."

"What's wrong, honey? Are you okay? Why are you at the hospital? I'll be right there."

Through the phone, I could hear the concern on the other end, and I could imagine Adams's anxious expression.

"My dear, I'm fine. I brought someone here."

As soon as she finished speaking, I heard him let out a sigh of relief on the other end of the phone.

"I'll leave first, take care of yourself."

After saying goodbye to me, Ross left.

I couldn't hold back any longer and burst into tears, on the verge of collapse, feeling as if a part of my heart was missing, the pain suffocating.

That was indeed his voice; I wouldn't mistake it.

But I still didn't want to believe it, not until I saw it with my own eyes.

I followed Ross to the underground parking lot, and soon, a man approached her.

I recognized him; it was Adams...

He naturally embraced her, and Ross began to complain: "You didn't accompany me today; you have to buy me a gift as punishment!"

Her voice was soft yet assertive, completely different from my usual self.

Seeing this scene, I felt choked, unable to say a word, and let my body slowly slide down the wall.

I couldn't help but retch on the ground, my face a mix of tears and saliva.
