Chapter 2

Sally

Pamela was a skinny big-eyed lady, short with very slim legs, short brown hair and a face that looked like a flattened O. Her skin colour was dark brown, and her big brown eyes looked like they were going to pop out of their socket anytime soon.

It's been seven days since I attended my husband's wedding, and today, I was at a cafe with Liz.

I had to leave the house to clear my head and lessen the pain I felt in my heart. We just sat there, and Liz kept whistling, trying to soothe the tense atmosphere.

I hadn't done anything, I didn't go to work. I couldn't eat, I just stayed up in my room staring at the ceiling while my girls kept me company.

Iris wasn't particularly happy about the fact that a stranger was living with us. She was ten and she understood what the situation was.

Her sisters were either oblivious or simply just didn't care.

"I think you should get a divorce, no, you're getting a divorce," Liz said. I had thought about it but I didn't want to be a divorcee.

I know I sounded stupid; I am stupid.

But a divorce was too easy. It meant I'm letting him and that bitch off the hook so easily. I wanted revenge; I wanted both of them to suffer tenfold.

I wanted to appease my rage so badly. If only murder was legal, I would have poisoned him long ago.

" I'm not getting a divorce, not yet." Gritting my teeth, I stared at my mug hard and long.

Liz scoffed." Don't be stupid, you're a public figure. This is a huge scandal as it is."

" Exactly, I'm a public figure! In the end, I'll get affected, and my girls will get affected too, and then who wins?" I raised a brow.

Liz shook her head. Disbelief clouding her expression." So are you saying you're going to just sit back and share your husband?Let him treat you like some insignificant being?"

A small, lazy smile crept on my lips." who says I'm going to sit back and watch? I'm going to destroy him inside out. Slowly he wouldn't even realize it."

The rage I felt right now was enough to set this place ablaze. I might not be thinking straight right now but I've been cooking up plans.

A divorce is not my kind of revenge, if we get an annulment, we'll just simply go our separate ways.

And then I'll be left to pick up the broken pieces of my life while he soars with that woman.

" Then, what exactly are you going to do?" Liz asked, supporting her jaw with her palms.

I sighed." I'll act like nothing happened."

Liz burst out laughing." That's not you talking, you can't do that. He cheated for crying out loud. He got married when he already had a wife."

Taking a sip of my coffee, I spoke." if I fight with her, I'm only going to push Cisco away from me."

She scoffed, irritation written all over her face." Are you crazy?"

I remained calm. I've thought this through for the past week." For my revenge to break him, I'll have to make him believe that I'm so stupidly in love with him that I can't ask for a divorce."

Liz slammed her hands on the table. Creating a loud bang that turned various heads in our direction."You want to live in the same house as that bitch and dick you call a husband?"

I nodded, clenching my fists under the table. As much as it disgusted me. I'm willing to do it. " He threw ten good years of marriage away like it was some trash and you expect me to be satisfied by giving him a divorce. I want to ruin him beyond repair. My name will get dragged in the mud but no one would raise a finger to him because he is the almighty influential Ramon."

I shook my head." If I'm going down, then he's going down with me."

Liz ran a hand through her curls." I hope whatever you're planning works. I've got your back on this, we will ruin him together."

My chest warmed up, she's the best.

I relaxed further in my chair, my heart aching. It's going to take a while but it's worth it. By the time I'm done, he'll be the one begging.

I'll give myself one month. One month to endure this humiliation while I put my plan in motion.

30 days is enough and then I'll ruin him for good.

Instead, I found him hunched over an open suitcase on our bed, methodically folding shirts with the same detached efficiency he used for everything else these days. "Going somewhere?" The question slipped out before I could stop it, though my heart already knew the answer. Carson didn't look up. "Violette needs help with Tyler's school enrollment. The private schools have these complicated interviews, and she's still emotional from her breakup. I can't just leave her to handle it alone." The words hit me like ice water. "What about our wedding planning meeting tomorrow? We've rescheduled twice already." "We'll figure it out when I get back." He finally glanced at me, his expression already defensive.
