Chapter 3

Sally

I got home late and met Cisco sitting on the balcony; Pamela was sitting on his lap. She was equally flirting with him; they were both laughing so loud that the sound of their voice felt like needles in my ears.

It pained me so much to see them together. I still couldn't imagine that Cisco just threw away ten wonderful years of marriage. We even had three children!

He should have at least thought about how the girls would feel. I shook my head, ignoring them and went straight into my bedroom and to bed.

I'm still living in this house for revenge.

Revenge!

That's what's keeping me going.

The next day, I was in the kitchen with Iris, preparing breakfast. I was going to play the good wife with a hidden agenda. I was just in the mood for a little evil.

"Iris!" I called.

Iris dropped the carrot she was chewing on and ran over to me. "Yes, Mum?"

"Help me set the table " As much as I didn't want; to, I had to.

She gave me a weird look. "Mum, I'm sorry, but I can't set the table if that lady dad brought home will sit with us."

I sighed, ruffling her hair." Do you trust, mummy?"

She hesitated but then nodded.

" Good, set the table."

She grumbled but eventually did as I said. I heard adding certain stuff to cooked food can cause some incredible discomfort if consumed.

I mixed the powder in the sauce; it was tasteless but could send you halfway to heaven through the toilet.

Iris came back to the kitchen after setting the table." Don't eat anything here, I'm ordering food for us in a few minutes."

She furrowed her brows, her eyes glued to my hand sprinkling powder over the sauce." Please tell me you're poisoning that woman." She gasped.

I chuckled." Not poison but close enough."

The table was set and as shameless as they were, they came down to eat.

They kept feeding each other, kissing and laughing all the while eating my food.

Idiots.

Iris and I exchanged looks and she giggled. Did I mention that my daughters and I were the perfect duo?

We continued eating our separate food like nothing was happening.

Francisco hasn't said a word to me ever since. It was like we were strangers. He just cast me aside like I was trash. And I would cast him aside, recycle him and then cast him aside again.

I finished eating and retired to my room. I had made up my mind not to go to work until Monday, I did not want to be in the headlines. At least I'll let things subside a little before showing my face in public.

I waited for hours, but sleep refused to take me; I was still battling to find sleep when I heard a knock on my door. I got up slowly to open the door and was shocked at who I saw. The only bitch in the house was standing at my door.

"What..do..you.. want?" I snapped. If only I could strangle her right now.

"Ummm....I just wanted to talk to you". Her voice sounded rather low.

" About what huh? How you stole my husband?" I spat disgusted.

" Noo..... I don't want this either". Pam said. " I know you think I stole your husband, but believe me I don't want this marriage."

I just stared at her like I had seen a ghost. How would she explain the nasty smirk on her face during the wedding?

"I know Francisco is very rich, and even if I am not in my right senses, I would never want to be a second wife, not even for money". She continued.

I stared at Pamela's face for a long moment, disbelief written on my face.

I wanted to laugh.

I laughed.

Did this woman think I would fall for her cheap tricks after all the flirting she had engaged in with my husband?

It was So unbelievable how this woman was trying to redeem herself after agreeing to marry a man who already had a family.

I scoffed." Get out of my face. "I said, feeling irritated.

She trembled, her eyes brimming with tears." I was forced to, " Pam said, lowering her face.

I paused and then burst out laughing."What? Cisco forced you to marry him.

?"I said sarcastically.

" He wasn't the only one; my parents forced me; I had no choice," Pam said as her voice cracked.

I paused for a moment. "I don't understand." I could not tell if Pam was lying or not, but She looked sincere.

" They didn't give me a chance to speak for myself, all they said was that I had to." She began sobbing.

I only stared at her. What the hell was I supposed to say?

Pam only stared at me with tear-filled eyes." I need your help, Sally." She said grabbing hold of my hand and squeezing it softly. " I'm supposed to be getting married next month."

I went speechless after hearing what she said. This whole story was getting suspicious by the minute.

I yanked my hand away from her grip. " You should be asking him for help, not me; I don't want to get dragged into your problems." I replied with a blank expression. I was not ready to believe someone I just met but then I just went with the flow.

She wouldn't lie about her wedding which was even next month, right?

Right?

She fidgeted with her dress." Please I'm begging you, I'll tell you everything I know, just help me get out of here."

I creased my brows."Tell me what? Start speaking now if you want my help."

Exhaling deeply she spoke." Don't get mad if you see me flirting with him. It's all an act.I just have to pretend so that he would not notice anything."

I pretended not to care ." just don't do it too much, it's annoying."

Pamela nodded almost immediately. I gave her a quick smile and we both stood there staring at each other. Pamela, on the other hand, just kept smiling like an idiot, I had to look anywhere else but her to stop herself from throwing up.

"Why don't you sneak out of the house and elope with your fiancee and never come back....how does that sound, huh?" I hoped she would agree to my plan immediately but Pamela only gave me a bitter smile.

" My fiancee is in Africa and he doesn't have any idea that I am here in England."She shrugged.

"Then how did you get here? In fact, how did you meet my husband."I suddenly wanted to know.

" Cisco brought me here. I tried running away, but he sent people after me. I even gave an excuse that I didn't have money to pay for my flight, but he insisted he'd pay for me. He even came to Africa to make sure I entered the plane ".Pam explained.

A frown appears on my face." Wait! When did this happen?"

" Umm...two weeks ago, I guess. " Pam replied.

I scoffed, biting down on my lower lip. I was already fuming as I put the pieces together. I remembered clearly what happened two weeks ago.

Cisco had told me that he was going to Africa, Nigeria, particularly for a business meeting to represent me since I was the CEO. I had insisted on going with him, but he bluntly refused, saying that it was an emergency meeting and he didn't want me to get stressed.

I had felt uneasy about him going, but I shoved it aside; Cisco returned from his so-called business meeting, but this time, he didn't return with paperwork or documents but with her. That's the only reasonable explanation I could think of.

" He lied to me !" I clutched my hair. I should have known all along. His sudden change of behaviour towards me and our girls. The distant looks in his eyes gave him away but I was too stupid to notice that something was wrong.

I wanted an explanation for all he had done ." He'll explain everything to me right now. "Without thinking, I started walking towards Cisco's room when Pamela pulled her back.

" You can't, he doesn't know I'm talking to you about this." She whispered.

I stopped in my tracks, my chest heaving up and down. I was so confused right now, my Brian was so foggy.

In summary, Cisco abducted Pamela and forced her to marry him when he already had a wife.

But Why?

Why did he do that?
