For three years, Rachel lived in a marriage that almost no one knew existed.
To the outside world, Captain Jared Holland-the cold and powerful second son of the influential Holland family-was single.
Only a handful of people knew the truth: Rachel was his legal wife. Their marriage had begun because of a mistake and was bound by a prenuptial agreement that promised it would end quietly after three years.
And in Jared's heart, there had always been someone else-Olivia, his foster sister and first love.
When Rachel returns from a grueling flight and sees a video of Jared desperately carrying Olivia to the hospital, the last illusion she held onto finally shatters. That same night, she signs the divorce papers and walks away with nothing but a suitcase and her dignity.
But when the time comes to finalize the divorce, Jared refuses to sign-always finding excuses to delay it.
The woman he once ignored is now determined to leave.
And the man who never valued her is suddenly unwilling to let her go.
Rachel looked at the man in front of her and frowned: "Jared what are you playing? Sign the divorce papers."
Jared smiled, "Darling, I am sorry, I was wrong. Please, let's not get divorce."
Captain, Sign Our Divorce NOW! Chapter 1
Rachel had just completed her flight assignment from Paris to New York. By the time the aircraft landed and all the formalities were done, exhaustion had already begun to settle deep in her bones.
After returning to the crew base, she quickly changed out of her uniform and into comfortable clothes. She submitted her flight log and the necessary reports before leaving the office.
Normally, she wouldn't have been this drained. But one of her colleagues had asked for help earlier in the week, and Rachel had agreed to swap shifts with her. Taking on the extra hours had pushed her schedule to the limit, leaving her utterly exhausted.
At that moment, Rachel wanted nothing more than to go home. All she could think about was soaking in a long, comfortable bath and then collapsing into bed for a deep, uninterrupted sleep.
Rachel had just settled into the back seat of the cab when her phone rang.
She glanced down and saw a new notification from the airline staff gossip group. Someone had just posted a video. The group had been created by crew members to share the latest gossip and news with one another.
Rachel normally had no interest in such things and rarely paid attention to the messages. But her friend Charles had insisted on adding her, saying it was useful to stay updated on what was happening around the company.
With the long day finally over and nothing else to do during the ride home, Rachel opened the group chat out of boredom and tapped on the video.
But the moment it started playing, the color drained from her face.
In the video, a man was rushing toward an ambulance parked not far away, a woman cradled tightly in his arms. His expression was filled with panic and anxiety, and the way he held her made it seem as if she were the most precious thing in the world.
Rachel recognized the man instantly.
It was her husband, Jared Holland-the man she had been married to for three years.
And the woman in his arms...
Rachel's fingers slowly tightened around her phone.
The woman was none other than his so-called foster sister... and his first love, Olivia Wright.
Then Rachel's eyes moved to the flood of comments appearing beneath the video.
One message after another popped up in the group chat.
"Oh wow, I never expected our cold, distant Captain Holland to be like this."
"Right? Look at the way he's holding her-like he's afraid that if he holds her any tighter, she might break."
"Does anyone know who that woman is?"
"Could she be his girlfriend?"
The chat quickly became lively as more people joined in. Speculation spread rapidly, and soon the conversation turned into playful betting about the relationship between the two people in the video.
"Ten bucks says she's his girlfriend."
"No way. Maybe a secret fiancée?"
"Captain Holland hiding a beauty like that? Impossible!"
The messages kept coming, each one more curious and excited than the last, as everyone tried to guess who the woman in Jared's arms might be.
For a moment, Rachel simply stared at the screen. Then a bitter smile appeared on her face.
Just then, Rachel's phone rang again.
She glanced down at the screen and saw the caller ID-Charles.
Charles was her childhood friend and one of the few male flight attendants in the airline. With his delicate features and charming smile, he was extremely popular, especially among the wealthy ladies in the first-class cabin. Unfortunately for them, the people Charles was interested in were men, not women.
Rachel stared at the screen for a moment before answering. She knew that if she didn't pick up, Charles would keep calling until she did.
"Hello?"
"Ellie, have you seen the video?" Charles's worried voice came through the phone immediately.
"Mm," Rachel replied calmly.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
Although Rachel and Jared had been married for three years, very few people knew about their relationship. Aside from the Holland family and a handful of close relatives, only Rachel's mother and Charles knew that she was Jared Holland's wife.
"What could possibly happen to me?" Rachel asked lightly, though a bitter smile lingered on her lips.
"How can you say that?" Charles exclaimed. "Did you read the messages in the group? Everyone's guessing about her relationship with Jared. Don't you think, as his legal wife, you should do something?"
His voice carried both anger and concern.
Rachel didn't answer.
Because she knew there was no point.
She had long realized that her marriage to Jared had been a mistake from the very beginning. If she hadn't schemed against him back then and forced him into that night with her, he would never have married her.
Perhaps he would have married Olivia instead... and they would be living happily together now.
Besides, no one in the Holland family had ever truly liked her.
Rachel took a slow breath and said quietly, "There's no need."
With that, she hung up the phone.
Leaning back in the seat, Rachel turned her head and looked out of the cab window at the passing lights of the city.
Three years.
The deadline of their agreement was almost over. Soon, she would leave him.
Since that was the case, there was no need for her to explain anything anymore.
*****
At home.
After returning home, Rachel went straight to the bathroom. The exhaustion from the long flight seemed to seep out of her body as she soaked in a long, comforting hot bath. The warm water eased the tension in her muscles, and by the time she stepped out, her entire body finally felt relaxed.
A few minutes later, she walked out of the bathroom wearing a soft silk nightdress. Her damp hair fell loosely over her shoulders, and a few droplets of water slid down the strands, landing on the thin fabric and leaving small darkened spots.
Just as she was drying her hair with a towel, the bedroom door opened.
Jared walked in.
He stopped the moment he saw her.
Under the warm light of the room, Rachel looked breathtaking. The silk clung gently to her figure, outlining her slender waist and soft curves. Her skin still carried a faint flush from the bath, and the damp strands of hair framing her delicate face only made her look more alluring.
For a moment, Jared's usually cold and indifferent expression shifted. His gaze darkened.
He walked toward her in a few long steps and wrapped his arms around her from behind, pulling her into his embrace. Lowering his head, he brushed a kiss against the side of her neck.
"Darling," he murmured in a low voice, "it's not good to tempt your husband like this. Are you asking to be punished?"
Rachel shivered slightly at the sudden closeness and tried to push him away.
"I'm not trying to tempt you," she said, her voice tired. "I'm exhausted. I'm really not in the mood tonight."
Only she knew that the man who always appeared cold and distant in front of others was completely different in private. The composed Captain Holland outside was far more intense when it came to moments like this.
Jared tilted his head slightly, studying her face. His eyes were filled with unmistakable desire.
He leaned closer, his breath brushing her ear. "Is that so?"
His teasing tone sent an involuntary shiver down her spine. Her ears had always been a sensitive spot, and he knew it very well.
Rachel tried to keep her expression steady, even though her body betrayed her reaction. No matter how dissatisfied she was with many things in their marriage, she had to admit one fact-
Jared knew her too well.
Their chemistry in that aspect had always been dangerously strong.
But the image of the video she had seen earlier suddenly flashed through her mind.
Her expression cooled instantly.
She placed her hand against his chest and pushed him away slightly.
"Jared," she said firmly, "I told you-I'm not in the mood."
Jared only chuckled softly, clearly unconvinced.
"If you're still saying that later," he replied lazily, "I'll let you go."
Before she could react, he lifted her effortlessly into his arms and started walking toward the bathroom.
Rachel frowned. "I already took a bath."
Jared smiled faintly, his voice low and playful.
"Maybe," he said, leaning closer to her, "but sometimes... the bathroom can make things a little more interesting."
Before she could say anything else, he kissed her, cutting off the rest of her protest as the bathroom door closed behind them.

Genevieve woke up choking on her own blood, a fatal gash tearing through her abdomen. The memories of a primitive world crashed into her mind—she had transmigrated into the body of a sadistic beastman Mistress.
But the five powerful beastmen "mates" standing over her hadn't come to her rescue. They had come to watch their tormentor die.
"We should just leave her," Kameron sneered coldly. "The scavengers will clean up the mess."
Gilberto spat in disgust, while Angelo, a silver-scaled snake-man, trembled in pure terror at the sight of her. The original owner had whipped them, humiliated them, and driven another mate to suicide. Now, they were letting her bleed out in the mud, their eyes filled with undisguised loathing and satisfaction.
She was a top-tier apocalyptic survival expert, yet here she was, paying the ultimate price for a stranger's monstrous sins. It was a bitter, unacceptable irony to die helplessly in the dirt while her supposed protectors waited for her corpse to rot.
She refused to accept this ending.
Forcing a chaotic surge of energy through their shared Biological Link, she brought all five men to their knees in agonizing pain, commanding them to carry her back. In the dark cave, without a single scream, she plunged her bare hands into a fire and brutally cauterized her own gaping wound with searing ash. As the beastmen stared in horrified awe at the unbreakable soul now occupying the tyrant's body, Genevieve wiped the blood from her face and began to rewrite her fate.

He postponed putting my name on the deed 18 times.
Each time, his mentee Ciera had an “emergency.” Each time, he ran to her.
I watched him give her his prized Montblanc pen—the one he wouldn’t even let me borrow. I saw her post their late nights on Instagram. I ate anniversary dinners alone while he “mentored” her.
Then he bought me a necklace—identical to the one she just flaunted online.
That was when I stopped feeling anything.
I didn’t cry. I didn’t fight. I simply packed two suitcases, resigned from our firm, and booked a one-way ticket to London.
He thinks I’m coming back in a week.
He has no idea I’m gone for good.
Nineteen broken promises. One silent goodbye. And a new life waiting across the ocean.

Finley's stepfather gave her a sickening ultimatum: marry her predatory stepbrother Shane tonight, or he would throw her fragile mother out on the street.
To escape this hell, she used a matchmaking agency and hastily married a complete stranger. Garrison Strickland claimed to be an ordinary data analyst making $95,000 a year, driving a beat-up Honda Civic, and needing a wife in name only. They got their marriage license at City Hall that very afternoon.
But when Finley returned home to pack her bags and threw the certificate on the table, her family just laughed. Dozier ordered Shane to drag her into the bedroom to "teach her a lesson" and trap her forever.
"Come on, little sister," Shane crooned, lunging at her. "Don't fight it."
Finley's own mother just stared at the floor, blaming Finley for ruining the family, watching blindly as Shane cornered her.
Terrified and desperate, Finley smashed an ashtray over Shane's head and frantically dialed her new husband's number. Shane snatched the phone, mocking the "imaginary husband" before the line went dead. Finley felt a bottomless despair. Garrison was just a normal guy; he would never risk his life against her violent family. She was completely on her own, waiting for the end.
Suddenly, deafening bangs echoed through the house, and Garrison stepped into the living room radiating a cold, terrifying fury. This supposedly "frugal data analyst" effortlessly snapped Shane's wrist, leveled a ruthless death threat that made Dozier tremble, and whisked Finley away in a waiting Bentley. Looking at the powerful man beside her, Finley's heart raced: just who exactly had she married today?

In our beast world, females are treated as nothing more than precious breeding stock to keep the pack strong. As the pack's best Mender, I spent all my time focusing on my healing herbs, completely ignoring my maturity ritual.
But tonight, the blind pack elder grabbed my wrist and delivered a chilling ultimatum.
If I don't choose my mates by the next Full Moon, the Council of Elders will force a match and assign them to me.
The threat is already suffocating. Arrogant, elite warriors like Caleb Quinn are pacing outside my door like starving wolves, stalking my porch and using pack business to corner me. At home, the reality of multiple mates is even worse. My mother has two mates—my father, the strongest Alpha, and my cold, intellectual step-father. Their toxic, murderous jealousy turns our house into a daily war zone. They literally unleash suffocating killing intent on innocent cubs just for hugging my mother.
I am disgusted by this sick, possessive obsession. I refuse to let my life become a battlefield of jealous males fighting over who gets to guard my door, and I absolutely refuse to be forced into a harem by the Elders.
So, I made a declaration that shocked my entire family and broke every pack tradition.
"I will only ever take one mate."
And to make sure none of those predatory warriors can touch me, I set an impossible trap.
"Whoever wants me must defeat my father first."

I spent six months choking down bitter herbs to cure my silver poisoning, just so I could finally bear pups for my mate, Alpha Holden.
But on the day I got my medical clearance, I discovered he was cheating on me with a low-level Omega intern.
Worse, I overheard him and my own brother talking in his office. My four-year marriage was a grotesque trap. My fake sister, Kylie, was the one who hired a rogue to cripple my wolf, and Holden only mated me to protect her from being exiled.
My entire family knew the truth, yet they protected the culprit while treating me like a cursed, wolfless burden.
When my brother violently spilled boiling soup on my stomach at a family dinner, exposing my horrific scars, my parents just rolled their eyes.
"Stop the pity play, Ariana," my mother sneered.
Holden didn't care about my burns either. He abandoned me on a freezing mountain road in the rain the moment his mistress called.
I couldn't understand how my own flesh and blood could sacrifice me for a fake daughter, or how my mate could turn our sacred bond into a sickening lie.
But I didn't shed a single tear. I secretly secured my Pack Identification Papers and gathered ironclad proof of his infidelity. I just needed one month to execute the Rejection ritual and walk away forever.

For five years, I was the flawless wife to the heir of the De Luca empire, securing billion-dollar acquisitions to prove my worth.
But my husband, Alessandro, still paraded his mistress in our home, publicly humiliating me as a "cold spreadsheet" while she sneered in triumph.
It didn't stop at infidelity. When I dared to cut off her credit cards, Alessandro decided to teach me a lesson.
He allowed his mistress to secretly file down the metal clasp on my horse's saddle right before a massive public equestrian event.
My leg was completely shattered in a horrific, agonizing fall in front of hundreds of elite guests.
While I lay bleeding in the dirt, my husband didn't even glance my way. Instead, he rushed to hold his mistress, shielding her eyes from the gruesome sight.
Later, pretending to be unconscious in the infirmary, I overheard him ordering his guards.
"Get rid of the saddle. It was just a lesson to remind her who's in charge."
He didn't just want me humiliated; he wanted me crippled and broken.
As the sterile smell of the hospital hit me, a horrifying realization set in—I was two weeks late. I was pregnant with his child.
The thought of my baby growing up in this ruthless, toxic family made my blood run cold, and the last spark of my love turned into absolute hatred.
The obedient wife died on that dirt track.
I quietly contacted his family's biggest rival and activated my secret scorched-earth protocol. It was time to burn his empire to the ground.
