Betrayed by My Fated Alpha Novel Cover

Betrayed by My Fated Alpha

On the day of his mistress’s birthday, they baked a cake together in our home—our sacred territory, the Moonstone Pack’s Alpha house. It was a place that should have been safe, guarded by the pack’s warriors, yet it had been violated by her presence. Our young pup, Jax, barely eighteen months old, suddenly developed a high fever, his cries piercing through the night. To silence him, the mistress, Elodie Bishop, fed him a spiced honey cake laced with sleeping pills. It wasn’t just a cake—it was poison, disguised as a treat. Not long after, Jax was foaming at the mouth, his tiny body convulsing. By the time we rushed him to the pack’s healer, he had gone into shock, his life hanging by a thread. I confronted my mate, Alpha Jesse, demanding an explanation for how our pup had ended up this way. He stood there, his broad shoulders tense, his expression indifferent. “Pups get sick all the time, don’t they?” he said, his deep voice dismissive.

Chapter 3

We weren’t arguing about Elodie Bishop for the first time.

Elodie was the new Beta in the Moonstone Pack, appointed by Alpha Jesse himself. She came from a low-ranking pack, and the first time I saw her, her demeanor was timid, her posture submissive, as if she were trying to shrink into the background. Back then, Jesse was the kind of Alpha who respected boundaries. He wouldn’t engage with other females, aside from his mate—me. He preferred male Betas, finding them generally more reliable.

Elodie was late on her first day at the packhouse. She received a stern reprimand, and Jesse demanded to know why. Through tears, she explained that she had to take care of her ailing grandmother in their territory. Jesse was aware of her situation and didn’t press further. But when he returned to our den that evening, he vented to me, “She thinks the pack is a charity. If she needs to look after someone, she should wake up earlier. We’re giving her a rank, and she’s creating chaos.”

I nuzzled him gently, my wolf seeking comfort in his scent. “Come on, she’s young and new to this. Cut her some slack.”

“Honestly, she can’t hold a candle to my Luna.”

I didn’t think much of it at the time. But as days went by, Jesse mentioned Elodie more frequently. It wasn’t just the “she’s clumsy” or “she’s naïve,” but it turned into “sometimes her clumsiness is rather endearing.”

I asked outright, “Do you like her too?”

Jesse chuckled and pulled me close, his Alpha aura wrapping around me like a warm blanket. “Of course not. She just reminds me of you. You, from back in the day.”

When we first met, I was shy and insecure, a low-ranking wolf from a small pack. But over the years, I’ve worked hard to prove myself, rising to become the Luna of the Moonstone Pack. I’m no longer the old Vera. Didn’t Jesse fall for the introverted me all those years ago?

Suddenly, panic set in. I realized Elodie might not be as innocent as she seemed.

I spent a whole day tracking down Elodie’s social media account. It was filled to the brim with posts, every single day. Starting from ten years ago, when Jesse and I first became mates, she’d been updating it non-stop. All were about her secret crush on Jesse.

“Today, Alpha Jesse smiled at me. His mate is such a nuisance.”

“I really like him. When will I be by his side?”

“I’m planning to join the Moonstone Pack; soon I’ll run into him!”

That’s when I remembered during our early days, there was often a young wolf who would come to ask Jesse questions about pack hierarchy. It was her!

After reading her posts, I felt nothing but disgust and deep fear. So, when Jesse returned from patrol that evening, I confronted him.

Jesse barely reacted and even criticized me, “That’s her private matter. By doing this, you’re stomping all over her feelings. Vera, when did you become as petty as other Lunas?”

I stared at him in disbelief. How could he scold me while defending Elodie?

“She likes you. Isn’t that something I should confront?”

“That’s her business. Elodie’s been through a lot, sacrificing just to join the Moonstone Pack.”

His eyes even held a hint of sympathy. I was seething with anger. Many wolves work hard to join the Moonstone Pack. She’s just another hopeful among many. As his Luna, how can I tolerate someone with ulterior motives for my mate staying close to him?

I demanded Jesse demote her. To my shock, Jesse turned on me, “Vera, just because you’re Luna now doesn’t mean you can boss people around. Remember? You used to be like that, and you weren’t even as capable as she is!”

That was the cruelest thing he’d ever said to me. My self-respect, my dignity—he crushed them completely, leaving me humiliated. He knew what I had endured during that time. Now Elodie gets his sympathy, while I fought to be where I am today, drowning my sorrows, spending time in the healer’s den, nearly losing my life.

Looking at the man before me, he seemed like a stranger. I should have demanded a rejection. A mate bond where betrayal begins and a third party intrudes will never survive.

But I was pregnant. Carrying his pup.

Only then did Jesse start to back off. He promised to keep his distance from Elodie. She was shifted to a lower-ranking position. But it lasted only a few months. Until today, when this happened.

I checked Elodie’s social media page. 10:40.

“With you around, I feel so at peace.”

I rushed to the bathroom and vomited until I was empty. He hadn’t severed ties with Elodie at all.

I married the Alpha of the top pack, but he hasn't touched me for a year. Yet by chance, I heard him crying to his younger brother. "She actually ordered three of the strongest warriors to accompany her, and the four of them went to train alone." He was so upset that he burst into tears. "Ron, if you're too scared, wait until sister-in-law is tempted by those guys and orders them to get intimate with her, you'll cry with no tears left." He immediately stopped crying: "What do they count for? Those outside are just wild grass; nothing's as sweet as one's own." "As long as she's still willing to come back, she can do whatever she wants." Roger rubbed his forehead and sighed:”Ron, why don't you ask the shaman to take a look?" Later, I secretly asked the shaman. The shaman gave me a note written by Ron himself: "I have... intimacy addiction. I love my wife very much, but I'm afraid of scaring her. What should I do?"

The morning light filtered through the grand windows of the Silver Moon Pack house as I arranged the final touches on the long oak table. My fingers trembled slightly as I positioned the last crystal glass, my reflection staring back at me from its polished surface. Dark circles shadowed my eyes after a sleepless night of preparation for today's Pack Merger Treaty meeting. "The flowers need to be moved an inch to the left," I muttered to myself, adjusting the centerpiece. "And the Alpha's chair should face the eastern window." I'd been working since dawn, ensuring every detail was perfect for the high-stakes meeting between our pack and the Blood River Pack. As the daughter of the late Alpha, this should have been my moment to shine—instead, I was invisible, relegated to servant duties while my stepmother and stepsister prepared to take center stage. "Juliet!" A harsh voice cut through my thoughts. "Where are the refreshment trays?" I turned to see my stepmother, Aileen, her lips curled in disapproval. "Coming right away," I replied, hurrying toward the kitchen. By midday, Alphas and their delegations filled our great hall.

I stood frozen among the gathered pack members, my heart hammering against my ribs as my father's words echoed through the grand council hall. "The union between my daughter, Aria, and our future Alpha Kai will strengthen the Moonstone Pack and secure our bloodlines for generations to come." The announcement hit me like a physical blow. My fingers trembled at my sides as I forced myself to maintain composure, feeling dozens of eyes boring into me. Some gazes held surprise, others calculation, but none matched the shock coursing through my own body. Kai. My arranged mate was *Kai*. I dared a glance toward him where he stood tall and imposing at the front of the hall. His face revealed nothing—no joy, no displeasure, just the same stoic mask he always wore. The same expression he'd had years ago when we trained together, when I'd first felt my heart stutter in his presence, when I'd first realized I loved someone who would never see me. My wolf, Nora, stirred anxiously within me.

The phone felt cold in my trembling hands as I scrolled through image after image. Each one was worse than the last—Lara Fox, the young intern who'd joined our pack three months ago, posing in ways that left nothing to imagination. Her messages accompanied each photo, words that made my stomach churn. "Missing you, Alpha. Can't wait until you're done with pack business." "These are just for you. No one else gets to see." "I dream about you every night..." My wolf whimpered inside me, clawing at my chest as if trying to escape. Eight years. Eight years I'd been mated to Calvin Richards, Alpha of the Silvercrest Pack. Eight years of painful fertility treatments, of being blamed for our inability to produce an heir, of enduring his mother's Luna aura crushing me into submission whenever I dared question anything. And all along, he'd been collecting these.

The silver light of the full moon bathed the forest in an ethereal glow as I raced through the underbrush, my silver-white paws barely touching the ground. My wolf, Maya, reveled in the freedom of the pack run, her joy momentarily eclipsing the constant ache in my chest. For these precious moments, I could forget what awaited me back at the pack house—the cold stares, the whispered insults, the empty bed. "Let's run faster," Maya urged within our shared consciousness. "Tonight feels different." I surrendered to her instinct, pushing forward ahead of the main group. The joint Moonridge-Silvermoon pack run was supposed to be a display of alliance and strength, but I knew my presence was merely tolerated. Five years as Luna of the Silvermoon Pack had taught me exactly where I stood with my mate. The thought of Cameron sent a familiar pang through my chest. My pup kicked inside me, responding to my distress, and I slowed my pace, protective instincts overriding Maya's desire to run. "Sorry, little one," I whispered internally, caressing my swollen belly with my consciousness.

The silk sheets felt cold against my bare skin as I stirred awake, my body aching from last night's rough handling. Dawn hadn't broken yet, but I could feel Maxwell's presence beside me, his warmth radiating reluctantly through the space between us. I kept my breathing steady, hoping he'd think I was still asleep. If I could just slip away before he fully woke... "Hannah." His voice cut through the darkness, low and commanding. "You're awake." I opened my eyes to find him sitting up, his broad shoulders silhouetted against the dim light filtering through the curtains. Even in the darkness, I could see the cold indifference in his steel-gray eyes. "Yes, Alpha," I whispered, immediately sliding to the edge of the bed. My muscles protested as I moved, reminding me of how he'd pinned me down last night, how his hands had left bruises on my wrists. "You need to leave before the sun rises." Maxwell's tone was clipped, businesslike.
