Not only was I drugged, blinded and assaulted. I was deceived into carrying a baby by a stranger I never knew. Then he appeared and took my child away.
I was sent to a militia by the father of my child. I thought I was rescued but I was recruited to be a weapon for killing. Who was manipulating me, I didn't know. The answers were far from what I knew.
Forced to blend into the world that I could never believe I would be to, a place where brutality reigned, kill or be killed was the only language. I have survived but he has to pay for everything he did to me, because I believed every phase of my life was set by him and him alone. Have I really survived?
Who would have thought, he existed twice in the same world? Do I really know who I should take revenge on? Him or the person I would sacrifice everything for?
Was my mother the one who orchestrated everything? What kind of pawn am I?
BENEATH TWISTED HEARTS - Lies Doubt and Obsession Chapter 1
The alley was quiet but, the gentle breeze soothed and cozied me.
I put on my headset listening to "Break My Heart" by Ella Mai. It was funny how I enjoyed romantic songs and movies, but as a person it never interested me.
The alley was dry, and no one was seen. Just then, pang...pang...pang.
I stopped for a moment. It was a gun shot.
For a moment I refused to let it bother me. My steps were firm and sturdy. Whatever happened was not my business.
The gun shots intensified.
I reduced the volume of my music but, I kept walking. I never let things that weren't my business faze me.
However, I felt someone run past me but, I wasn't sure.
I stared into the distance the figure had disappeared into, but no one was in sight.
I quickened my foot step.
Suddenly, a firm hand grasped onto me.
I froze.
The hand was cold and strong.
"Help me," He said in a whisper. I tried to remove his hands but, he stared down at his other hand.
It was a gun.
Cold sweat ran down my spine.
"How can I help you?" I stuttered.
What if he pulled the trigger? God ooh no I didn't want to die.
I closed my eyes tightly.
His other hand was covered in blood. He was bleeding from his belly.
Goodness gracious, "what have I done?" I mumbled.
He stretched out his gun. "What did you say I should do?" Fear grips me. "Take me with you." The words he said rang like a bell in my ears, "How do you mean." My heartbeat quickening. "I mean your house." He said hoarsely. I didn't ask anymore questions. I held onto his hand and led him to my apartment.
What crime have I committed? I thought. Hand in hand we walked into my apartment. I loved my room clean and in order.
He removed his face cap and tossed it onto the couch. I wanted to tell him not to do that however, my life was still hanging on a thread.
Having mysophobia was already killing me but, what if he shoots me?
I gently picked it up and threw it into the bin. I ran into my room.
My heart closed just like the door did.
I stood there wondering what just happened. "Did I just bring a stranger into my house?" I didn't understand, but I had no choice.
I went to my bedside and, picked up a first aid box and, exited the room.
Slowly, I walked over to him.
My hands trembling. "Let me help you dress your wound" I said, trying to compose.
He stared at my face then to my hand and, waved his hand gesturing for me to come closer.
"Make sure not to do anything silly" He muttered, his gaze fascinated on the box.
I bent over and, helped him undress. My hands trembling.
Looking at his well formed abs I couldn't help but swallow hard.
His body was freakishly good looking.
I gasped.
I could feel his gaze glued on my face.
"You like what you see?," He teased coldly.
I called my thoughts in order. I didn't reply to his remark.
He watched my every action until, I was done dressing his wound. It was a stab not too deep, but I assumed he must have lost a lot of blood.
As soon as, I was done dressing his wound; I stood up to leave but, he stopped me.
"Because you have helped me, I won't kill you yet" I knew that voice, that demonic voice. Those from dark romance dramas.
"Thanks," I said and I hurried into my room. My heart almost jumped from its rip cage.
Just then, I had a loud bang.
He was banging of the door
My heartbeat quickened.
"What are you doing inside there? Are you calling the police?" His voice pierced the whole place.
I froze.
"Who did I bring into my house?" my body trembled, cold sweat ran down my body.
"Open this door" he said, his voice devoid of any warmth.
I didn't dare open the door, I couldn't. My hand gently clung to the door handle. Should I open it, should I not? My heart raced.

"I saw you with him," Lucas said quietly, but the tension in his jaw gave him away.
Nina exhaled, crossing her arms. "You don't get to care."
"Don't I?" He stepped in, close enough that she had to tilt her head back to meet his eyes.
"This is just a contract."
"Then why does it bother me?" His hand hovered near her waist, not touching-yet.
"It shouldn't." Her breath faltered.
His gaze darkened, "And yet it does."

Clara supported her boyfriend Leo for four years, paying his rent and buying his headshots while working dead-end extra gigs.
On his twenty-sixth birthday, she caught him in their bed with Veronica, a wealthy producer's daughter who constantly stole Clara's roles.
Leo mocked Clara as a "pathetic, poor stepping stone" who was just there until he got his foot in the door.
Veronica threatened to ruin Clara's career forever.
Clara dumped him, packed her bags, and impulsively entered a contract marriage with a cold stranger she met at City Hall.
But her nightmare wasn't over.
When her mother suddenly needed a $200,000 emergency brain surgery, Clara was forced to take a demeaning extra gig to survive.
There, Veronica and her starlet friend cornered Clara.
They mocked her cheap clothes, ridiculed her new wedding ring as fake glass, and intentionally poured scalding coffee on her feet.
"Well, maid, you better clean that up."
Veronica laughed, forcing Clara to her knees to wipe up the burning liquid while snapping photos.
Clara swallowed her burning humiliation, secretly recording their abuse on her phone.
She endured the pain, desperate for the $300 day rate to save her mother's life, feeling entirely crushed by their overwhelming wealth and power.
What she didn't know was that outside the soundstage, her new contract husband—the man she thought was just a struggling, broke tech worker—was sitting in a sleek black Maybach.
He watched his wife kneeling on the floor, and his dark eyes filled with a lethal, terrifying rage.

June woke up transmigrated into the body of a ruthless billionaire's toxic, disposable wife.
Before she could even process the massive Beverly Hills mansion, a cold system voice announced she had exactly five minutes of lifespan remaining.
To survive, she was forced to bind with the system and strictly maintain the original owner's "brainless, abusive drama queen" persona to earn hours to live.
She was forced to violently slap hot coffee out of a terrified maid's hands and physically spank her manipulative five-year-old stepson.
When she tried to escape this nightmare by throwing divorce papers at her terrifying husband, Isaac Walton, he simply ripped them to shreds.
Every time she tried to be reasonable or show a hint of kindness, the system tortured her with agonizing cardiac pain, cementing her status as the most hated monster in the family.
The most absurd part happened when she threw a hysterical, system-mandated tantrum over a gossip magazine, and Isaac's icy demeanor suddenly melted.
He gently touched her hair, offering the one thing she desperately needed.
"Stop crying. I'll handle it."
Just as a spark of hope ignited in her chest, the system's critical death warning exploded in her skull: accepting his sympathy would instantly deduct thirty days of her life.
To stay alive, June had no choice but to violently slap away the only hand reaching out to save her, forcing herself to play the greedy villain while her husband's gaze turned dangerously dark.

In my past life, I was the naive surrogate who fell desperately in love with Karson King, an untouchable Wall Street billionaire.
I thought my blind devotion would earn me a place in his family. Instead, his cruel mother forced me to sign away my parental rights to my three-year-old daughter.
I was locked in a dark, freezing basement. I watched helplessly as his arrogant relatives tormented my child, pushing her down a flight of marble stairs and shattering her tiny arm.
When we finally died in a horrific car crash, my face covered in blood amidst the shattered glass, Karson didn't shed a single tear. To him, my death was just the convenient erasure of a cheap mistake.
I sacrificed my dignity for his approval, but they treated us worse than stray dogs. Why did my innocent daughter have to pay the ultimate price for their ruthless arrogance?
Opening my eyes again, the harsh glare of a massive crystal chandelier pierced my vision. I was back in the grand foyer of the King estate, exactly five years ago.
"Sign it. You are nothing but a gold digger."
My soon-to-be mother-in-law slammed the thick legal contract onto the marble table, demanding I give up my daughter.
This time, the paralyzing fear evaporated, replaced by absolute, icy clarity.
I didn't cower. I picked up the pen, looked right at the billionaire who despised me, and prepared to manipulate his entire empire.

Eileen woke up in a trashed hotel room, her head pounding with the pathetic memories of a despised Hollywood actress.
Outside the window, paparazzi were already screaming about her manufactured cheating scandal, but the real nightmare was waiting at her door.
Her paralyzed, billionaire husband, Carlisle Vinson, looked at her with pure disgust while his butler shoved a divorce settlement at her chest.
"Mr. Vinson is offering a severance package of fifty million dollars, provided you sign immediately and vacate the premises."
The original owner had left her an absolute mess.
Her trusted assistant had sold her room number to the press to frame her, and a playboy had scammed her out of her entire two million dollar life savings.
If she signed those papers and lost the Vinson family's protection, the breach of contract fees and her enemies in the industry would swallow her alive in days.
Eileen felt a cold fury override the original owner's lingering panic.
Why should she take the fall and be thrown out on the streets while the parasites who set her up lived out their wealthy fantasies?
She had died once, and she wasn't about to waste her second chance playing the victim.
Eileen slammed the heavy divorce folder shut right against the butler's chest.
"I'm not signing," she said with a terrifying, absolute calm.
She stepped behind her husband's wheelchair, ready to shield him from the cameras, secretly cure his dead legs, and make everyone who betrayed her bleed.
