After My Husband Divorced Me For His Pregnant Mistress Chapter 1

In the third year of their marriage, Stephen Cruz's beloved Vienna Kelly publicly announced her divorce.

He handed Adaline Gonzales the divorce papers. "You know I've always thought of Vienna as a sister. Now that she's pregnant, I can't just walk away."

Adaline's hand clenched her stomach. In her past life, when she heard these words, she refused to divorce. Then the car accident happened, and Stephen didn't even glance at her as he rushed to the pregnant Vienna. Adaline was forced to terminate her five-month pregnancy. Stephen's words had been harsh and dismissive: "It's your own twisted mind that can't accept Vienna, that's why fate is punishing you."

In the end, Adaline took her daughter's ashes and walked into the sea.

When she opened her eyes again, she calmly signed the divorce papers.

"Adaline, just three years, and then we can remarry, okay?"

Adaline sat in the living room, suddenly brought back to reality as her hand instinctively tightened around her bag.

On the opposite couch, Stephen was comforting a tearful Vienna Kelly, speaking softly to her.

Two months prior, Vienna had announced her divorce on Twitter, causing quite the buzz. Her fans congratulated her on her newfound freedom. Her ex-husband was caught entering a hotel with another woman, prompting Vienna to decisively file for divorce. He quickly became engaged to that woman, and the entire internet sympathized with Vienna, cheering her for leaving a toxic relationship.

And now, two months later, Stephen stood before Adaline, holding Vienna's hand. "Adaline, Vienna is pregnant. You know I've always seen her as a sister. She's in this situation now, and her child shouldn't grow up without a father."

Adaline watched his lips move, hearing the same words as in her past life. "I've discussed it with Vienna. I'll divorce you and give her and the baby a home. Once the child is older and everything settles, we can remarry."

When Adaline stayed silent, he moved closer, sitting beside her, trying to persuade her. "Adaline, I know it's unfair to you, but you wouldn't want Vienna's child to grow up fatherless, would you?"

Hearing this, Vienna’s face grew even paler as tears streamed down, staining her white Victorian-style dress. "Adaline, please, help my child. I grew up without a father and was mocked for it. I don't want my child to suffer the same."

She stood, trembling, nearly collapsing before she knelt before Adaline. "Sister," she grabbed Adaline's hand, "you don't have children. I promise my child will honor you in the future. Please, let me and Stephen be together."

"What are you doing?" Stephen’s eyes narrowed as he quickly helped Vienna up. "You're a celebrity; you shouldn't kneel to her. Besides, she will understand."

Stephen turned to Adaline, smiling, "Right, Adaline?" But beneath the smile, there was a hint of dissatisfaction and warning.

Adaline’s fingers dug into her bag, her knuckles turning white, feeling an overwhelming pressure in her chest. As she remained silent, Stephen’s brow furrowed, and impatience seeped into his voice. "Adaline, your father is still in the hospital. Think about it carefully. Do it for him, just three years, and then we’ll be husband and wife again."

His tone carried a threat, "Don't make a decision you'll regret. It might harm you as well as others."

Adaline let out a bitter laugh, her fingers suddenly releasing, and she felt she could breathe again. He had said the same thing in her past life, and she had fought desperately, refusing the divorce. But later, when she was heavily pregnant, the car accident happened, and Stephen didn't hesitate, carrying Vienna away while their child was lost. He claimed her intolerance of Vienna led fate to punish her.

Her father, after years of heading a successful business, was driven to his grave by Stephen's actions.

"Fine!"

She met his gaze, her expression calm. "I agree to the divorce."

---

Soon after, he held their daughter's ashes and walked into the sea. By the time the police found him, his body had been ravaged by sea creatures, unrecognizable.
