Abandoned by My Fated Mate I Claimed True Love Chapter 1

Three years into my mate bond with Mason Cole, he brought home a female werewolf.

He said he found her wandering alone as a rogue and felt pity for her, so he took her into the packhouse under his protection. I believed him.

But then he allowed her to slip a potion into my drink that caused me to lose our pup.

He sided with her, humiliated me, and ignored my pain.

In the face of my endless questioning, he grew annoyed.

Impatiently, he pushed the Gamma warrior, Ambrose Harrison, toward me.

"You could always try someone new," he said with a shrug. "That way, we don’t have to interfere with each other."

But when I truly stopped interfering with him, he regretted it.

---

I stood frozen, staring at the man in front of me. Time had been kind to him; his face still carried the youthful charm of a young Alpha, though now layered with a heavier, more mature air. Mason lounged lazily on the couch, his brow furrowed with irritation.

"Valery, how many times are you going to bring this up this month? It’s just a lost pup. Emelia didn’t mean for it to happen."

He spoke so casually, as if he were discussing the death of a stray animal.

But that was our pup—seven months along, just three months away from being born.

I had already made tiny clothes for them.

They had already taken shape, and I was so close to holding them in my arms.

My voice trembled as I looked at him.

"That was your pup too, Mason. How could you be so cruel?"

He sat up abruptly, his expression filled with impatience.

"Valery, the Silver Moon Pack doesn’t need just one pup. Besides, I’ve already promised Emelia that my first pup will be hers. Why are you still hung up on this?"

I stared at his familiar face, but for the first time, it felt like I was looking at a stranger.

Tears fell as I whispered, "But you promised me a lifetime together. You said you’d only ever love me."

Mason let out a mocking laugh, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

"Valery, you’re so naive. I’m the Alpha. It’s natural for me to have other females in my life. And for three years, you’ve been the only Luna in this pack. Most would be grateful for that, yet here you are, complaining."

I opened my mouth, but no words came out.

My mind flashed back to our mark ceremony, the night we bonded. The scent of rosemary and vanilla—his scent—filled the air as he held my hands, his gaze sincere and unwavering.

"Valery," he had said, "I, Mason Cole, Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack, promise you that I’ll never take another mate. My heart will belong only to you. With you, I have everything I need."

Those words had felt so real, so permanent.

But now, just three years later, they were ashes, scattered and forgotten.

Was that the lifespan of a promise?

Just then, one of Emelia’s maids hurried into the room, her face anxious.

"Alpha, Luna Emelia says her chest hurts terribly. She’s asking for you."

Mason’s lazy demeanor vanished instantly, replaced by concern and urgency.

He grabbed his jacket and started toward the door, but I stopped him.

"Mason," I said firmly, "I’m your Luna."

He glared at me, his voice sharp with anger.

"What do you want, Valery?"

I met his gaze, my voice steady despite the ache in my chest.

"I just want justice for our pup."

Mason’s expression darkened. It was clear how much he cared for Emelia.

In the three years we’d been mated, even at his angriest, he’d always spoken to me with a measured tone. But now, for Emelia, he snapped.

He shoved Ambrose toward me, his voice cold and commanding.

"Any male can give you a pup, Valery. Try someone else if you want one so badly. But my first pup’s mother will be Emelia."

His words cut deeper than any claw, and I felt my wolf whimper in the back of my mind, a quiet, pained sound.

But I stood my ground, my heart hardening with every passing second.

If this was who Mason had become, then I would not break for him.

The Inter-Pack Summit's grand hall glowed with ceremonial torches, casting dramatic shadows across the faces of the most powerful Alphas in the region. I stood at the entrance, my silver aura radiating outward in controlled waves—not a display of emotion, but a calculated reminder of the Silvermoon Pack's strength under my leadership. Marcus positioned himself precisely one step behind me and to my right, his presence a silent comfort through our private mind-link. *They're all watching for weakness,* he observed, his thoughts flowing into mine with familiar ease. *Then they'll find none,* I replied, scanning the room with measured indifference. Alpha Kaelen Blackwood approached first, his dark eyes evaluating me with the same predatory calculation I recognized in myself. "Alpha Victoria," he greeted, inclining his head just slightly enough to acknowledge my status without suggesting submission. "Your champion has brought considerable attention to the Silvermoon territory." "As intended," I replied coolly, the subtle tap of my index finger against my thigh the only outward sign of my strategic assessment. Ryan Mitchell had indeed brought attention—attention I had meticulously orchestrated over five years of investment. The rogue I'd salvaged from starvation had been molded into a weapon that now represented Silvermoon dominance in combat.

The morning light filtered through our penthouse windows, casting golden patterns across the Egyptian cotton sheets. I stirred slowly, consciousness returning in gentle waves. Seven years. Seven years of what I believed was perfect love. "Happy anniversary, my only one," Gabriel's voice caressed my ear as he entered our bedroom, a silver breakfast tray balanced in his hands. His dark hair was slightly disheveled, giving him that boyish charm that still made my heart flutter. "You didn't have to," I murmured, sitting up against the headboard as the scent of fresh croissants and coffee filled the air. "For you, I want to do everything." He set the tray down and sat beside me, his fingers brushing mine as he handed me a steaming cup. No redness appeared on his skin, no hives, no shortness of breath—just the miracle of his touch, reserved only for me. The condition that had brought us together.
