Lucia Mclean did not rise to become the first female Alpha in three decades by believing in fate. She rules the oldest and most feared territory in Varron with blood, fear, and an iron will that has never once wavered. To her pack, she is a goddess. To her enemies, a monster. And to herself, she is untouchable. Until her fated mate turns out to be the one man who could destroy everything she's built. Jacob Hayes is a quiet cook from the Northern Pack-human-hearted, soft-spoken, and completely unprepared to be bound to the most ruthless Alpha in the four territories. Their bond is forbidden, dangerous, and politically explosive. Loving him could cost Lucia her throne. Rejecting him could spark a war. As rebellion stirs and the obsessive Northern Alpha sets his sights on claiming both Lucia's land and her mate, Lucia must choose between the power that made her untouchable and the bond that makes her human. In a world ruled by fear, even fate can become a weapon-and a broken bond can be deadlier than any blade.

The Ruthless Female Alpha Regin Chapter 1

Lucia's POV Listen-and listen well. We will continue as we have before, striking them at the heart-fierce and fast-in the deepest hour of the night. I stood before my council of elders. "But, Alpha," one of them said, "how do you intend to capture their Alpha? He is known for his strength and tight borders." Like I said earlier. In case you are deaf. We will follow the same system and strategy we have used for the past six months-hit them when they least expect it, capture their Alpha, and claim their territory. I scanned their faces and saw the unease ripple through the ancient wolves. Their restlessness almost amused me. I wanted to kill them all and be done with it, but for now, I endured their foolishness. Being the first female Alpha in nearly three decades was a war of its own. At every turn, someone tried to undermine or overlook my authority. I learned the hard way what it took to survive. There was no going back. The only way for a woman to hold power and respect was to become as cold as ice. And that was exactly what I had become. I stood before the traitors, blade in hand. I had beheaded so many men that death felt like routine now. I grabbed the first by his hair, yanked his head back, and gutted him like an animal. In less than a minute, they were all dead. I walked back slowly, hands drenched in blood, my eyes fixed on the elders-daring them to speak, daring them to give me a reason to carve through every single one of them. They stood in silence. "We march at dawn to the Red Sky Pack." I didn't need their approval. Their opinions meant nothing. We hid along the outer edges of the border, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Some might have wondered why I claimed every territory within my reach. That answer was mine alone. Midnight came. And so did my victory. My blade rested against Alpha Liam's throat. He would either surrender himself, withdraw his claim over his pack and land-or die. His Beta and Gamma lay gutted at my feet. Only his Luna and son remained. Just before I reached them, he broke. "I, Alpha Liam of the Red Sky Pack, relinquish my rights, my territory, and my pack to Alpha Lucia of the Crimson Eagle Pack." Triumph surged through me. Six powerful territories now bowed to my command, each pack drinking my blood and swearing allegiance. Finally, no one could oppose me. We took everything-their gold, their strongest warriors, their resources. We searched every corner of the territory and found nothing of interest. Then I heard voices. From the kitchen oven. "Open it." The moment my eyes met his, I knew he would be a problem. A hindrance. My wolf chanted inside me. Mate. Mate. Mate. How could I be bound to a nobody? His eyes were wide-soft, doe-like, and terrified. He stared at me like prey measuring its chances of escape. I grabbed his shirt and dragged him out. The contact made my skin burn, and the sensation only fueled my irritation. He was tall but thin. He had wet himself in fear. I wanted to reject him. And at the same time, to keep him. Before I could decide, pain exploded through my chest. I looked down. A knife. I looked up and saw my mate's hands buried deep in my heart. "I will do the world a favor and rid it of you," he said, "even if it means killing my own mate." Sorrow and joy collided inside me. He was a challenge. And utterly unpredictable. He drove the blade deeper. I fell to my knees, my eyes never leaving his as I drew my final breath.

Grace, after three years of silence from a crash that stole her voice and family, finally uttered a hoarse syllable. It was her first sound, a breakthrough she desperately wanted to share with Josiah, her childhood protector. Instead, through a slightly ajar door, she heard his careless chuckle, followed by a sharp, entitled voice. Alexandria's voice sliced through the air: "Josiah, are you really planning to bring that little mute to the banquet? She's a walking trailer park tragedy. It's embarrassing." Grace froze, waiting for Josiah to defend her. He didn't. Instead, he sighed, calling her "a responsibility" and "a lifeless ghost," then pulled Alexandria closer. The words were serrated blades. Her silent devotion, her self-erasure for his peace, had made her a punchline. He was relieved she was broken. The bitter realization of his betrayal ignited a cold, white-hot fury. Wiping away tears, Grace met Josiah, feigning her usual submissive smile, and quietly refused his "hush money." As he walked away without a glance, her inner voice was clear, sharp, and resolute: "I'm done playing your game."

Suddenly, Bennett was always busy, supporting her through "difficult IVF cycles." He missed my birthday. He forgot our anniversary. I tried to believe him, until I overheard him at a party. He confessed to his friends that his love for me was a "deep connection," but with Aria, it was "fire" and "exhilarating." He was giving her a wedding, a family, a life—all the things he denied me, using a lie about a deadly genetic condition as his excuse. The betrayal was so complete it felt like a physical shock. I was the Architect who built the digital fortress for the most feared Don in New York. To the world, I was Brendan Wiggins’s silent, elegant Queen. But then my burner phone buzzed under the dinner table. It was a photo from his mistress: a positive pregnancy test. "Your husband is celebrating right now," the caption read. "You are just the furniture." I looked across the table at Brendan. He smiled and held my hand, lying to my face without blinking. He thought he owned me because he saved my life ten years ago. He told her I was just "functional." That I was a barren asset he kept around to look respectable, while she carried his legacy. He thought I would accept the disrespect because I had nowhere else to go. He was wrong. I didn't want to divorce him—you don't divorce a Don. And I didn't want to kill him. That was too easy. I wanted to erase him. I liquidated fifty million dollars from the offshore accounts only I could access. I destroyed the servers I had built. He could burn the world down looking for me, but he would never find his wife. Because the woman who loved him no longer existed.

I died alone in the medical wing giving birth to our son. "Tell her to calm down and stop the theatrics." Those were the last words my mate, the Alpha, said about me while I bled out. Instead of passing on, my soul was tethered to the packhouse. I was forced to watch my best friend Seraphina seamlessly step into my life, taking my baby and my husband before my body was even cold. To secure her place, she planted my blood-soaked birthing blanket in the woods to frame me for faking my own kidnapping. Ryker swallowed her lies completely. He refused to send a search party, telling the entire pack my disappearance was just a pathetic plea for attention and money. As a helpless ghost, I watched Seraphina brainwash my one-year-old son into calling her his mother and teach him to joyfully trample my beloved garden. "Bad mommy ran away. Don't love Kaelen." Hearing my own child parrot those venomous words was a dagger to my soul. Whenever anyone questioned my absence, Ryker fiercely defended her, dismissing the desperate warnings of my loyal friends and his own elders. The man I loved and died for treated my memory like a malicious joke, grateful for an excuse to replace me while living with my murderer. But when Seraphina's mask finally slipped, and the horrifying truth of my death crashed down on him, it was far too late. Seeing him crumble in agonizing regret brought me no comfort. I no longer wanted his love or his desperate apologies. Now, I only wanted his absolute ruin.
