The Other Woman's Hero Chapter 1

During my engagement party, the chandelier suddenly fell from the ceiling and landed on my head.

However, my boyfriend shielded his junior as he dragged her to safety.

Even when he saw blood coming out of my mouth, he hid aside with his junior in his arms.

“They are just superficial wounds. They won’t kill you. It’s too dangerous here. Let’s wait for the paramedics!”

However, he had forgotten he was the director of the emergency department.

That night, I suffered a miscarriage, but he was having fun at a theme park with his junior to calm her down.

I threw the medical report of my miscarriage at his face. After I decided to get married to another person, the once arrogant emergency doctor kept apologizing to me…

I was only sent to the hospital half an hour after Desmond White left.

The doctor called Desmond a few times, but the calls were unanswered.

He had no choice but to pass the cell phone to me.

After waiting for a very long time for the call to get through, Desmond finally answered.

“Eunice Howard, what are you doing? Since you’re at the hospital, you should just focus on getting your treatment. Stop pulling your shameful little tricks.”

I was holding back my tears. I shut my eyes and took a deep breath as I tried to ease my own pain.

“I’m pregnant. The doctor would need your signature to—”

“Eunice, don’t you think you’re being absurd? Connie Anderson is in a state of shock, so she needs someone to accompany her. Stop being so needy!”

Desmond cut me off, but he sounded so concerned about someone else.

Immediately, I felt extremely tired from this relationship.

Just when I was about to hang up, Desmond seemed to realize that he had been too rude. His tone softened.

“I’ve seen the doctor’s treatment plan, and I think it’s good. You should take some time to heal your ribs and undergo surgery for your leg. I’ll go over to accompany you after Connie feels better, alright?”

‘No, I want you to come now,’ I thought.

However, I could not bring myself to say that.

I was extremely disappointed in him.

There was no room for me in his heart.

If there were, he would have listened to what the doctor said next. He said, “The surgery is simple and straightforward, but she’s pregnant, so we can’t put her under anesthesia. You have to choose one of the two.”

When he answered the call, I even had the impulse to go through the surgery without anesthesia.

However, I finally realized just how much of a lovesick idiot I was!

He chose to save Connie, the one who should have meant the least to him. That proved that I was not that important to him.

After I thought it through, I ended the call without listening to his half-hearted comfort.

I decided to end my pregnancy, so I signed the surgery consent form.

The surgery took three hours.

After I woke up, the sky was already dark. I was alone in the hospital ward.

I let out a bitter laugh. I placed my hand on my lower abdomen as I felt the lingering pain.
