I was feeling the sensations already, I'd never had sex with my mate for the five years we've been together which was one reason tonight was gonna be special. Close to his house, I masked my scent. I didn't want him getting a clue of what's happening. The hormones in my body were going crazy and my wolf was so excited. THE HOT STRANGER OF LAST NIGHT IS MY ALPHA PROFESSOR Chapter 1

Emily's POV

Since I would be leaving this pack, here in Los Angeles for Oxford tomorrow, I decided to spend the night at my boyfriend’s apartment which is a few meters from the pack estate.

During the day, the Alpha, my dad and his Luna, my mom organized a send forth for me and invited most prominent members of the pack. Even while the party went on, my mind was thinking about Beta Leo, I couldn't wait to escape to him at the garden. He's my boyfriend of five years, we dated right from when I was fifteen years and we dream of getting married one day.

“I'll miss you, baby.” He said to me the moment I walked up to him in the garden. His face was dull and he had his hands clutched to the back.

I felt my wolf weakened. It was a hard decision leaving the one person I wanted to be around all the time to continue my studies abroad. If I told my dad that I wanted to study in one of the local universities here in Los Angeles, he wouldn't agree. I knew there was no need, he's such an authoritative Alpha that doesn't change his mind once he has arrived at a decision.

I took out of my credit cards from my pocket, a golden card worth three million dollars and gave it to him.

“Take this!” I handed it over to him. “This is my savings from the pocket money I have been getting from my dad for the past two years. I want you to see it as me buying your heart to stay faithful to me till I return.”

“What?” His eyes popped out so wide. “I know there's really a lot of money in here, I can't take it.” He pushed the card back to me but I resisted and sent it into his palms, covering it.

“You're my mate, my boyfriend and everything and so far this is my most valuable asset. I want you to keep it safe with you till I return, if you can't accept it.”

Slowly he folded the card gently and gave me a hug.

“Well, it's just three years. I'll keep myself for you till you return.”

“Promise?” I raised my dull eyes at him, wanting an assurance and he gave me a brief and serious nod.

“Thanks,” I smiled and hugged him so tight. We kissed for some minutes before running back to the venue of the party lest my attention is needed. I already planned a surprise for us, I would spend the night at his place for the first time and we're gonna do it for the first time.

I'd saved my virginity for marriage as my family is such a conservative one but tonight, I had to give him what he's always asking for. I wanted to seal the bond we had. I wished we could stay loyal to each other till we reunite again.

It was 8 PM. I sneaked out of the house after bedtime, this was so risky but it's all for the love of my life. I knew what my dad would do to me should he discover this but I had to take the risk to show Leo how much I loved him. He wouldn't let me take such a risk if he knew that's why I didn't tell him.

This was meant to be a secret.

I was dressed in a red mini-gown, the sexiest gown in my wardrobe.

Tonight is gonna be hot!

I was feeling the sensations already, I'd never had sex with him for the five years we've been together which was one reason tonight was gonna be special. The thoughts had begun to ravage my mind and my heart was thumping so loud as I walked along the road to his apartment which wasn't so far away. I will return as early as possible before the Alpha wakes up for his morning run. My dad wouldn't know I'd been out.

Close to his house, I masked my scent. I didn't want him getting a clue of what's happening. The hormones in my body were going crazy and my wolf was so excited. I tiptoed to the backyard of his apartment which I knew for sure was always open, talking of the door. His bedroom was right here and I was gonna throw myself on him on the bed.

The White Claw Pack is one of the safest packs in the world where you could sleep with your door open and wake up to see everything intact just as you kept them. For this fact, his bedroom was open.

I banged in.

“Huh!” My jaw dropped at the sudden sight before me. I froze, staring wide in front of me. My wolf went into a coma at this moment. I rubbed my eyes to check out if this is true or some imaginations created in my head.

Right in front of me, on the same bed I'd planned to have Leo make love with me, was him and a strange girl. Seeing me, they sprang up, staring at me like they saw a ghost.

Leo stood up.

“Emily, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the pack estate?” His voice was raised and he gave me an angry look. I arched my brows, trying to understand the condition here.

“Are you angry at me?” I lashed back at him, then walked past him, storming towards the girl on the bed when I felt a firm grip on my arms.

“What do you think you're doing?” He growled at me. “How dare you walk into my private room without letting me know?”

I chuckled, wishing this is all a joke.

“Have you forgotten who I am to you?” Anger struck my chest and I gave him a hard spank on the cheek.

“Who are you to slap my mate?” I saw the girl rise and slap me so hard. I was about to process what just happened when another hard slap struck my face, nearly blinding my eyes.

I tapped my pencil against the edge of my sketchpad, staring at the half-finished design for the ceremonial necklace I planned to surprise Marcus with for our fifth anniversary. The silver and moonstone piece would symbolize our enduring bond—five perfect years as Alpha and Luna of the Silverstone Pack. "What do you think, Lyra?" I whispered to my wolf, who purred contentedly in my mind. *Beautiful, like all your creations, Victoria.* My inner wolf had always been my greatest supporter, even before Marcus. I smiled, setting down my pencil and stretching my arms above my head. The afternoon sun streamed through the windows of our shared study, casting a warm glow over the polished oak desk. Marcus had left his tablet behind this morning in his rush to handle what he'd called an "urgent pack matter." I reached for it, thinking I could review some of the anniversary celebration plans we'd been discussing. We'd granted each other access to our devices years ago—a symbol of trust between mates. The screen lit up at my touch, revealing a messaging app I rarely used. A notification blinked insistently in the corner—from Amber Rodriguez, our new pack coordinator.

“Don’t stop,” she whispered. “She won’t come up.” I did. I stopped breathing. Thinking. Existing. The voice came from inside my bedroom—our bedroom. My sanctuary. I stood frozen in the hallway, dinner still warm downstairs, candles flickering in a room that no longer mattered. The scent of truffle butter still clung to my sleeves. Through the door—left carelessly ajar—I saw enough. A woman with auburn hair and wine-colored nails was curled into my husband's side, her lipstick smeared across his throat like a bruise. Her fingers skimmed down his back, possessive, practiced. Oliver moaned softly. A sound I hadn’t heard in months. I didn’t scream. I didn’t cry. I turned. Through the adjoining bathroom, I slipped into the walk-in closet, hiding behind the luxury he insisted I needed. Dresses lined in neat rows. Shoes in pyramids. A fortress of silk and leather and betrayal. I sat down, gripping the hem of my dress, listening. “I don’t know why you’re still stalling,” Lily said, her voice languid and confident. “She’s not stupid, Oliver. She’s suspicious. You said she keeps asking questions.” He sighed. “Let her ask. She won’t do anything. Not until it’s too late.” A beat. “She’s planning something tonight,” he added, almost amused. “Made some kind of fancy dinner. Probably filet again. It’s sweet, in a tragic way.” Lily giggled. “You think she’s figured out we’ve been using her?” “Scarlett sees what she wants to see. She’s desperate. That’s what makes it easy.” There was movement on the bed. Sheets shifting. “She still has no idea about the inheritance?” Lily murmured. “None,” he said. “Her father’s trust releases next month. Once the money hits the accounts, I’ll serve the papers. I’ve already started moving things offshore.” My throat closed. I bit the inside of my cheek so hard I tasted blood. So this was what I got from our five-year marriage.

Five years. That was one thousand, eight hundred, and twenty-five days of waking up cold. Today was our anniversary. Not that anyone in the Blood Moon Pack would be celebrating. To them, this wasn't the day their Alpha and Luna were united; it was the day the "real" Luna ran away, and the spare was shoved into a white dress to stop a war. I sat at my vanity, the enchanted glass reflecting a face that looked too pale, too tired for twenty-one. My hand drifted up to my neck, hovering over the smooth, unmarked skin there. A dull, throbbing ache pulsed beneath my fingertips—mate sickness. It was a low-level hum of pain that never went away, the physical consequence of a bond that had been legally recognized but never sealed with a bite. "Happy anniversary, Leona," I whispered to the empty room.
