Chapter 2

I stared at the photo for a long time, then silently liked it. As soon as I exited the page, I received a message from Dante.

"Lily, I'll be busy with some things for the next few days. Be good and wait for me at home."

After a two-second period of silence, I obediently replied, "Okay."

The next day, I got up early and went to the city hall.

"Hello. I need to change my legal identity."

The clerk looked stunned. "Ma'am, if you change your identity, all the certificates and records issued under the name Lily Jensen will become invalid. You'll essentially be erasing your legal existence. Are you sure you want to proceed?"

"I'm certain!"

From now on, everything related to Lily would have nothing to do with me. After processing the paperwork, I established my new identity.

"Ma'am, what's your new name?"

"Anna Louise."

From now on, there would be no person named Lily in this world. I was Anna Louise and I would leave this place forever.

"Your new identity will take effect in seven days. Have a pleasant life."

In seven days, I could use my new identity to buy a plane ticket and leave Dante behind.

On the way home, Nina updated her Instagram again. I masochistically scrolled through everything she posted.

She had shared an intimate wedding photo with Dante. I stared at the man in the photo, who was smiling so tenderly. Ever since his leg injury, Dante had strongly disliked being photographed.

However, he was now breaking his own rules again and again for Nina.

I still liked the photo, then looked up at the wall. The villa walls were covered with my photos, all selfies I had taken in every corner of the villa.

I had once told Dante, "It doesn't matter if you don't like taking photos. I'll take plenty and we can still preserve our memories together."

In all those photos, my smile was sweet because he was always there beside me, just not in frame.

However, it turned out that he would appear in photos with other women. That woman just was not me.

I tore down all the photos, not leaving a single one behind. They filled an entire suitcase, and I would take all of these with me.

By the time I finished everything, it was already late at night. I had just closed the suitcase when Dante suddenly returned.

He saw the empty walls and looked surprised. "Where did all the photos go?"

"I didn't like them anymore, so I tore them down. I'll take some new ones later."

Dante nodded. As he was taking off his clothes, he noticed the documents on the table and frowned. "Why did you take out all your papers?"

"I have some business to handle, so I got them out in advance."

I explained while casually putting the items into my bag.

Dante did not think much of it. He came over and held me in his arms, saying tenderly, "I haven't had time to spend with you these past few days. Your birthday's coming up. I'll take you to the auction house tomorrow to pick out some gifts."

He carried a faint scent of perfume that made my stomach churn, but I did not struggle out of his embrace. I just nodded softly while tears streamed down my face.

The next day, as soon as we sat down in the auction hall, I spotted Nina dressed as a server, carefully weaving through the crowd with a tray of drinks.

I glanced at Dante, but he kept looking straight ahead, not sparing her a single glance. Soon enough, there was a commotion from Nina's direction.

Several rich brats had cornered Nina, taunting her with crude jokes.

"Well, if it isn't our dear Ms. Nina Lace. You stabbed Dante in the back back then, but now that he's become the mafia Don living in glory. Someone must be feeling pretty regretful, right?”

"I heard that you're gonna marry that half-dead geezer from the Boone family. That old man's useless, so you'll definitely be lonely later. Why don't you have some fun with us first..."

Before I knew it, Dante had appeared behind them and kicked those spoiled brats.
