"I don't love you and I will never love you, Isabelle Yang!" I froze as the hatred in his eyes held me captive. I knew he wasn't happy with this arrangement. Neither was I.
"But I am your wife, Emerson."
"Wife?" He scoffed, stepping closer until my back hit the wall and I was trapped between his arms.
"You mean wife... or just the woman chosen to carry my heir?" His words were the truth. That was the only reason I was here. Still, they hurt more than I expected.
"You hurt my girlfriend by coming into our lives," he continued coldly.
"And I plan to make you feel twice the pain you caused her."
Then he did something worse than yelling-he sanitized his hands after touching me, as if I disgusted him.
He walked away, leaving me heartbroken and shaking, wondering what I had done to deserve so much hatred.
...
Isabelle Yang never imagined that her life could spiral into more darkness after catching her boyfriend and twin sister in bed on the night meant to celebrate their two-year anniversary.
Before she could even recover, a call from home changed everything. Her marriage had been arranged with the Winters-one of the most powerful families in Europe. And her husband? Emerson Winters, the ruthless heir who cared about only two things... himself and his childhood sweetheart, Salma Hayden.
But what happens when his love isn't enough to bear an heir, and he is forced into a marriage with Isabelle-a woman he sees as a mistake, a burden, an obligation?
What will become of two hearts trapped in a marriage where hatred and resentment rule the day?

The Billionaire's Unwanted Wife. Chapter 1
~ Isabella ~
I woke up from a dream I have always had, one where I saw myself being awarded my doctorate in clinical psychology. It never ceased to make my morning and always made me look forward to the grind of the day.
I'd just lifted my eyes when I froze... the room felt unfamiliar. I tried to start up but froze on realizing how bare I was under the blanket.
My legs felt heavy and every part of me ached. I looked down at myself from under the sheets, and I froze.
What the fuck...?!!!
How did I get here and why?
And then... the memory started rushing back, one at a time from the very beginning.
It has been Zach's and my two-year dating anniversary, and we'd planned to celebrate it in one of the pricey restaurants here in Melbourne.
My best friend, Junie, had done a great job in helping me get ready for the day, and by the time she was done, I was ever ready to capture the hearts of not just Zach, but everyone else I came across.
Just that, I only succeeded in making a fool out of myself when I got stood up by Zach and became a victim of pitiful gazes.
Pissed at being so insulted, I'd taken a cab to Zach's apartment complex... and in his room I had caught him and my twin sister, Emily, making love like the entire world didn't exist.
I'd tried to skip away silently, but a flower vase that I hadn't noticed on my way in fell to the ground, attracting their attention.
They tried to beg me to wait, but I couldn't be stopped.
One way or another... I found myself at a bar, where an overly nice bartender had offered me drinks to help me soothe my heartache.
Only that, I passed out not long after, and now?
I looked towards the side, and as expected... it was warm. Just then, I heard the sound of the shower and froze.
Whoever the stranger I had just had a one-night stand with was, he was still here, and I couldn't let him see me.
I managed to get dressed in spite of the throbbing pain in between my legs. I grabbed my handbag and was about to leave the room when the blood-stained patch on the bed caused me to freeze.
My virginity.
The one I had planned to give to my husband as a gift on our wedding night was snatched in one night by a stranger.
.....
I didn't know how I managed to get to the bus stop until I received a call from my Bestie.
"Bell! Where the hell are you?" I had to distance my phone from my ear to avoid having an ear blockage. I could only imagine how worried she must have been, being unable to contact me. She was the only close friend I had in this still foreign city, and besides, Zach no longer counts. She was one of the few persons I knew cared about my well-being the most.
"I'm on my way." I said simply before hanging up and focused on flagging down a cab back to my hostel.
....
"So... what happened?" Junie hovered over me as soon as I got settled. I was thankful she at least gave me five minutes of alone time before confronting me.
"I got drunk and ended up waking up in a strange bed."
"You had a one-night stand?" Her gaze was filled with horror as she asked.
I nodded.
"Oh my! I'm so sorry, Bell." I was immediately engulfed in her embrace and broke down in tears. Zach's betrayal had hurt, but not as much as the realization... that I had lost my virginity to a stranger whom I might never even get to know.
"But... how did you end up in a bar when you were meant to meet up with Zach at Skyline's restaurant?" She finally asked, minutes after I had finally calmed down.
"He stood me up and...." I took a deep breath as I recounted all that happened to her. She listened quietly, not interrupting until I was done.
"I'm really sorry, Bess...very sorry." She embraced me tightly and began apologizing for not being there for me when I needed her.
But she didn't have to.
This wasn't any of her fault.
It wasn't her fault that my life is so messed up and my mom and twin sister hated me so much that I sometimes wondered if I had done anything more than being born with a high IQ and having been doted on immensely by my late father.
.....
"Aren't you going to be attending the celebratory dinner?" Junie asked two weeks later, batting her eyes at me. The celebratory dinner was something we'd all been waiting for. Though our college graduation was still in about a week's time. The graduation dinner was more like a final get-together before the big day.
"I'll pass on it. I don't feel that well." I replied honestly.
"Are you okay?"
"I will be fine," I say, forcing a smile. "You don't need to stay with me and miss the celebratory dinner." I added, reading her mind.
"You sure?"
"I am, Junie. You'd waited five whole years for this moment. Don't let me be the reason why you'd be missing tonight's dinner." I pleaded, gazing at her white and black A-lined dress, which best depicted the course she'd spent the last five years studying.
"Okay then. Do call me if you need anything."
"I will, Mom." I faked a chuckle so I could sound even more convincing. She nodded and stepped out of the room, leaving me to myself.
....
Hours later,
I stared at the used pregnancy test in my hand and silently prayed it wasn't what I was thinking while waiting.
I'd become more nauseous and exhausted than usual. Though I never managed to fake a vomit to save my life.
Courtesy of my unique genes, women mostly showed signs of pregnancy through fainting rather than vomiting.
Not sure if that was a good or a bad thing, though.
I turned over the test and froze at the sight of the two red lines.
I'm pregnant?!!!
...for a stranger?

I was the youngest Paladin in history, the absolute pride of the Azure Blade.
But after a disastrous mission in the snow, I was falsely accused of slaughtering my own squad.
Grand Master Bernardo Rowe didn't just exile me; he surgically severed my connection to the magic Aether, turning me into a crippled mortal.
Desperate to survive, I tried to climb the Holy Stairs to reclaim my legendary sword, "Rebellion."
Instead of answering my call, my own blade shrieked in absolute rejection and blasted me down the thousand stone steps.
My bones snapped like dry twigs, and I was left in a pool of my own blood.
The pilgrims laughed at me. The guards declared me a lost cause and left me to rot in the dirt.
I should have died there, betrayed by the Order and the holy magic I once served.
But a silent, massive laborer named Cato Sims dragged my mangled body into the shadows.
He healed my shattered skeleton in mere days with impossible skill, yet he allowed lowly servants to spit on him and beat him just to keep my presence hidden.
I didn't understand why my holy sword had abandoned me, and I understood even less why this stranger was protecting a condemned criminal.
When I finally snapped and demanded to know his price for saving my life, he didn't ask for money or my body.
"The mountain does not forget its debts. I am reclaiming what was taken from it."
Staring into his unyielding eyes, I realized my exile wasn't the end, but the beginning of a terrifying truth.

I am the undisputed ice queen of the ER, a doctor whose life is built on absolute control. A month ago, I impulsively married a stranger to create a legal shield against my ex-mentor's betrayal.
Our prenup had one strict rule: a fake marriage with zero interference in each other's lives. But tonight, my "husband on paper" was wheeled into my ER, unconscious, reeking of cheap whiskey, and suffering from a bleeding ulcer.
To authorize his emergency surgery, I had to sign the consent form as his wife, detonating a gossip bomb among my colleagues. Worse, his overbearing family found out he was hospitalized. To stop his terrifying mother from flying in and exposing our sham marriage, I had to lean over his hospital bed and take a fake, loving couple's selfie.
I didn't understand why this disciplined math professor was suddenly drinking himself to death, nor why my chest tightened when he looked at me with exhausted eyes and begged for homemade soup. My perfectly ordered, untouchable life was crumbling into a chaotic mess, and I was losing my grip on the narrative.
"We should probably spend some time together beforehand. We could be roommates."
To prepare for an unavoidable family dinner and a wedding, my stranger husband just asked me to move into his apartment. The ultimate uncontrolled variable has just crossed the line, and our fake marriage is about to become dangerously real.

Today was my father's grand second wedding, but for me, it was the anniversary of my mother's death.
My new stepmother, Marley, who was only four years older than me, cornered me. To establish her dominance as the new Luna, she ordered her servants to force me to my knees and violently ripped my late mother's necklace from my neck.
It was the only memento my mother had left me. Marley sneered, threw it to the ground, and shattered the gems. When I scrambled to pick up the broken pieces, she dug her high-heeled shoe into the back of my hand, mocking me as dirty trash. No one stepped in to help. My father was too busy celebrating his new marriage under the dazzling lights, completely erasing my mother's memory and leaving me to be abused in my own pack.
My heart was full of grievance and despair. Why did my mother's lifelong devotion end with her grave desolate and her daughter humiliated? I swore I would never become a weak, discarded she-wolf whose life depended on a man.
Desperate to escape the suffocating wedding, I ran outside and stumbled right into the chest of a terrifying stranger.
"No one should ever touch what is precious to you."
His golden eyes blazed with fury as sparks instantly shot through my veins. He was Kade Blackwood, the ruthless Alpha of the feared Blood Moon Pack—and my fated mate.

In my past life, I was the naive surrogate who fell desperately in love with Karson King, an untouchable Wall Street billionaire.
I thought my blind devotion would earn me a place in his family. Instead, his cruel mother forced me to sign away my parental rights to my three-year-old daughter.
I was locked in a dark, freezing basement. I watched helplessly as his arrogant relatives tormented my child, pushing her down a flight of marble stairs and shattering her tiny arm.
When we finally died in a horrific car crash, my face covered in blood amidst the shattered glass, Karson didn't shed a single tear. To him, my death was just the convenient erasure of a cheap mistake.
I sacrificed my dignity for his approval, but they treated us worse than stray dogs. Why did my innocent daughter have to pay the ultimate price for their ruthless arrogance?
Opening my eyes again, the harsh glare of a massive crystal chandelier pierced my vision. I was back in the grand foyer of the King estate, exactly five years ago.
"Sign it. You are nothing but a gold digger."
My soon-to-be mother-in-law slammed the thick legal contract onto the marble table, demanding I give up my daughter.
This time, the paralyzing fear evaporated, replaced by absolute, icy clarity.
I didn't cower. I picked up the pen, looked right at the billionaire who despised me, and prepared to manipulate his entire empire.

I was freezing to death in an abandoned cabin, desperately waiting for my fiancé to save me.
Instead, my phone flickered with a video from my adopted sister.
She was smiling as she confessed that she and my fiancé had orchestrated my kidnapping, and my parents' fatal plane crash, just to steal my family's trust fund.
When I called him with my dying breath, he mocked me for faking a PR stunt and hung up.
I died in the sub-zero blizzard, consumed by absolute despair.
But as a ghost, I watched my greatest business rival, the ruthless billionaire Collins, kick down the doors of my mansion.
He didn't just mourn me.
He shot my fiancé, trapped my sister, and set the entire place on fire, choosing to burn alive in the inferno just to avenge me.
I couldn't understand why the man I had publicly despised for a decade loved me so fiercely, while the people I gave everything to wanted me dead.
Opening my eyes again, I was back backstage on the night I won my Oscar, four years ago.
My fiancé smiled, holding out his arms to hug me.
I pushed him away in disgust, marched straight into the crowded theater, and kissed my billionaire rival on live television.
"Let's get married tomorrow."
This time, I would use him to burn them all to the ground.
