Chapter 4

Brienne woke up with a massive headache and immediately massaged her temple, hoping to relieve the symptoms. Not only her head but her whole body ached. As she looked around, memories of last night flooded back to her. She glanced at Raven beside her and let out a nervous chuckle at the sight of their clothes on the floor.

"What did I do?" she whispered. Gently removing Raven's hand from her tummy, Brienne stood up. She found her bag on the floor and quickly grabbed it. She fished her phone out of her bag and saw fifty missed calls and texts from Janice.

"Oh, God! Brienne, you crazy woman! Why did you give up your virginity to a stranger?" she murmured. Suddenly, her phone rang, and when Brienne saw Janice's name, she immediately answered the call.

"Nice..."

"Where the hell on earth are you?! I woke up in this empty hotel room without you by my side," Janice said. Brienne bit her bottom lip, a habit of hers whenever she felt embarrassed.

"Nice..."

"What?!" Janice yelled.

"I'm sorry, where are you? I'll come to you and explain everything," she whispered, putting on her underwear and bra.

"I'm sorry too, Bree. It just scared me that you weren't with me. I thought something bad had happened to you," Janice said. Brienne turned around and stared at the man. Something had definitely happened to her, but it wasn’t bad—maybe a little dangerous.

"Text me the location; I'll see you soon, Nice," she said and ended the call. Limping, Brienne moved beside the man. Fortunately, the shirt was big enough to serve as a dress that reached above her knees. She touched Raven's face and quickly left the room, bringing everything with her. Brienne didn’t wake Raven because she knew it would be the last time she saw him. It was just a one-night stand and nothing more.

Brienne left the hotel in a hurry and got into a taxi. Ten minutes later, she arrived at the hotel where Janice was staying. Janice immediately spotted her and pulled her inside the room.

"What happened to you? Why are you wearing a man's shirt?" she asked. Brienne sat on the bed and clasped her hands together.

"I slept with someone last night," she confessed.

"You what?!" Janice screamed in surprise. "What the hell, Bree?! Are you out of your mind?! What if he's a killer?" she added.

"I'm sorry," Brienne said, bowing her head. "I don't know what got into me, but when we danced last night, I felt something," she added.

"Bree, I know your breakup might have influenced what happened last night, but that was dangerous—sleeping with a man you didn't know," Janice said as she sat next to her.

"I'm sorry, Nice. I'm sure he won't search for me. It's not like we'll see each other again," Brienne said.

"You better hope so," Janice replied. Then, raising her eyebrows up and down, she asked, "How was it?"

"It was... great," Brienne answered. "He's so dreamy, Nice, and a gentleman!" she added, her cheeks blushing. It seemed like the pain from her breakup with Jasper had faded after sleeping with Raven.

"Oh, someone got some good D last night," Janice said, making Brienne blush even more as she remembered the passionate night they shared.

"It's not that..."

"It's alright, Bree. You and Jasper broke up because of his cheating ass," Janice said.

"Am I wrong, Nice? I didn't give up my virginity to Jasper for the two years we were together because I was saving it for our wedding. But just one night after we broke up, I gave it to someone I don't even know," she said.

"What you did wrong was sleeping with a stranger, which could have ended dangerously, Bree. But having sex with someone you like? That's fine. Now, let's go home. We still have work, and we're going to be late," she said. Brienne heaved a sigh. Oddly enough, Janice's words comforted her.

Meanwhile, Raven woke up to an empty bed. No Bree next to him. He groaned and sat up, grabbing his ringing phone.

"Alpha," the caller said.

Alpha—the highest position in a pack of the Children of the Moon, also known as werewolves. It is a title given to the strongest werewolf who will lead the pack for generations. And the mighty Alpha who commands the Crescent Stone pack, the largest pack in the City of Flogate, is Raven.

"Carter, report what happened," Raven said while putting on his pants. When he searched for his shirt, he couldn't help but smile, noticing it was missing. Bree, whose dress he had destroyed, must have worn his shirt.

"Nothing, Alpha. After we brought the woman to the hotel as you instructed, the boys and I returned to the pack," Carter reported.

"Good. I'll be in my office. Bring me another pair of clean clothes, Carter," Raven ordered.

"Yeah, yeah. So, how was your night?" Raven's Beta asked.

The Beta holds the second-highest position in the pack and is the one the Alpha trusts the most, serving as their right-hand person.

"It was f*cking great, but she left," Raven said, shaking his head. He wanted to know Bree more, but seeing how eagerly she left the room ended that.

"What? Oh, come on! That's not the Raven I know," Carter said, laughing. Raven sighed.

"F*ck you. I want you to find her," he said. They were compatible, and Raven knew it. The sex they had last night was incredible, and he regretted not waking up first.

"Fine, give me the name," Carter said.

"Bree," Raven answered as he put on the robe.

"That's it?" Carter asked.

"Yeah, that's it," Raven replied.

"F*ck, thanks for the info, Rave," Carter muttered. "Okay, I'll let the boys know. We'll find your princess, Prince Charming," he added. Raven rolled his eyes and ended the call. As he was about to leave the room, he noticed something shiny on the bed. He walked over and picked it up—it was an earring. Raven's lips curled into a smile as he slipped the earring into his pocket.

He left the room, and the hotel attendant standing nearby immediately followed, knowing the VIP guest had just stayed.

"Did you notice if the woman I was with left the building?" Raven asked.

"We haven’t noticed, Alpha, but we can check the CCTV for you," the hotel attendant said.

"No, it’s okay," Raven replied.

"Forgive us, Alpha," the attendant said.

"It’s alright. Just do your job properly. I’ll send Carter at the end of the month," Raven said. The hotel attendant nodded, and the chauffeur handed him his car keys. He thanked his employee and got into the car. Raven drove to his office, where he would meet his Beta.
