The Alpha’s Puppet and the Luna Who Defied Fate Chapter 1

When I was on the brink of death after failing my training, Alpha Augustine Thompson revealed that my wolf had been severely damaged, and it would take three cycles of recovery before I could fulfill my destiny. Each cycle would be filled with hardship and challenges.

In my first life, I fell for Isaac Garcia the moment I caught his scent.

He loved me fiercely, vowing to protect me for eternity.

But in the end, I died for him, pierced by countless claws on the battlefield.

In my second life, I found him again and worked tirelessly to avoid the tragedy of the past, believing we could grow old together.

Yet, I was tortured to death by rogues while trying to save him.

Now, in my third life, on the eve of our mark ceremony, I sent Halle Crawford into his room.

Because the night before, I overheard his conversation with Vincenzo Mitchell, his Beta.

"Alpha," Vincenzo said, "you only agreed to mark Aria to provoke Halle. Now that Halle has returned to you, the ceremony is tomorrow. How do we proceed?"

Isaac scoffed. "Let the ceremony go on. Aria is the daughter of a respected Delta and a pack healer. I can't afford to insult her connections. I'll find a way to reject her later."

"But Alpha, she may not let go so easily."

"Then," Isaac said coldly, "we’ll arrange for her to meet an unfortunate end. A fitting title posthumously will suffice. It’s the least she deserves for her service."

So, every death I’d endured had been orchestrated by the one I loved most.

From that moment, I vowed to never love again, focusing only on fulfilling my destiny.

========================

The night before the ceremony, I held the dress I’d worn in two lifetimes, still cherishing it.

But Augustine appeared suddenly, his silver-streaked hair and weary expression betraying his concern.

"Child," he said, "are you certain you want to spend this life with Isaac?"

I nodded without hesitation.

"This is your final cycle," he continued. "If you endure the trials and die as before, your wolf will fully recover, and you’ll fulfill your destiny. But if you choose to change your fate and stay with him, you can never return. Are you certain?"

"Alpha," I replied, "forgive my defiance, but this is my last chance. I’ll give up everything to be with him."

This was the third time Augustine had asked, and my answer remained unchanged.

He sighed deeply, a flicker of regret in his eyes.

"Very well," he said. "I’ll send someone to assist you."

With that, he vanished.

I knew I was his most prized student, and he’d always support me.

But tears still fell—a mix of joy and guilt.

I set the dress aside, eager to share my decision with Isaac.

Since the first life, I’d always told him the truth.

Each time, he’d held me tightly, kissed my hair, and said, "To hell with fate. No one will keep us apart. I’ll destroy anyone who tries!"

Isaac, a seasoned warrior, carried a commanding aura, and when he spoke those words, it felt as though I could see him leading armies for my sake.

Such devotion only deepened my love for him.

But as I approached his room, I saw a woman hurriedly leave, adjusting her clothes, her cheeks flushed.

I hesitated but brushed it aside, stepping to the door. Before I could enter, I heard Isaac and Vincenzo speaking inside.

"Alpha," Vincenzo said, "marking Aria was only to provoke Halle. Now that Halle has returned, the ceremony is tomorrow. How do we proceed?"

"Proceed as planned," Isaac replied. "Aria’s connections are too valuable to insult. I’ll find a way to reject her later."

"Alpha, she may not let go so easily."

"Then," Isaac said coldly, "we’ll arrange for her to meet an unfortunate end. A fitting title posthumously will suffice. It’s the least she deserves for her service."

Tears fell from my eyes, shattering like my heart.

I turned and ran after the woman, not to confront her but to see the face that had captivated Isaac so completely.

At the gate, I saw a carriage departing. I sprinted after it, leaping onto the roof with practiced ease.

Inside, I heard laughter. "Princess," one voice said, "the Alpha has adored you since childhood. Can you imagine Aria’s face when she realizes she’s just been a pawn in your game?"

Halle chuckled. "She brought it on herself. She chose this path."

I jumped down, standing alone in the cold, tears streaming silently.

So, it was all my choice? Fine. In this life, even if I died, I wouldn’t protect his position as Alpha.
