Chapter 3

"Yulia, are you really willing to come back? What about that boyfriend you were so head - over - heels for?"

"I don't like him anymore. Never again."

Uncle Alpha Mike's tone turned sharp in an instant. "Did you break up?"

Uncle had protected me since I was a child. If he knew the truth, he would probably raze the Silver Moon Pack to the ground .

"No, Uncle," I forced myself to sound calm.

"Once I wrap things up here, I'll come back right away."

I stormed back into my bedroom.

I started hurling the gifts Alpha Frank had bestowed upon me into the trash can. Each item landed with a dull thud.

Among those discarded things, a hand - bound leather photo album caught my eye.

Its pages were filled with pictures of Frank and me.

As I tossed the last item, the large oak doors of the villa creaked open slowly.

"What are you thinking about so intently?"

Slowly, I turned around.

There he stood, his powerful frame casually leaning against the doorpost.

He took deliberate steps towards me, his gaze sweeping over the scattered letters and discarded gifts on the floor.

"The full moon day of the Moonlit Pack, our engagement day. I've already talked it over with the elders. The ceremony will be magnificent, worthy of our standing. Oh, and by the way, are you planning to invite your uncle? You know how crucial family is."

My heart jolted violently. "Do you want me to invite him?"

He let out a soft laugh.

"Yes, invite him. I want to use this engagement as an opportunity to completely erase the long - standing rift between our two packs."

Alpha Frank's hands moved with a disconcerting urgency, and before I knew it, he was tugging at the fabric of my dress, his fingers grazing my shoulders as he tried to slide it off.

"I'm on my period,"

Alpha Frank merely leaned in, his lips pressing against mine in a passionate, almost possessive kiss.

"Then I'll wait until you're well,".

After he finally left, I felt as though a massive boulder had settled in the pit of my stomach, weighing me down and making it almost impossible to breathe.

Just then, the doorbell rang out sharply.

I made my way to the door.

As I opened it, there stood a woman clad in a exquisitely tailored Chanel suit.

Her makeup was bold and striking.

Before I could even utter a word, she simply pushed past me and strode into the house, her eyes darting around as if she were sizing up her own territory.

"So, you're Yulia?"

"I'm Rosy, Alpha Frank's fiancée."
