My body went rigid in an instant.
"You're supposed to be Alpha Frank's mistress. How come you don't seem to have any reaction at all upon hearing that he has a fiancée?"
Ever since I heard those words at the office, my heart had long since turned to stone.
Seeing that I remained silent, Rosy must have thought I was stunned into stupidity.
A flash of smugness crossed her face.
"The Silver Moon Pack and the Lightning Blood Moon Pack are about to be united through marriage, and Alpha Frank has already agreed. No matter what role you've been playing by his side, he will break up with you immediately. I advise you to be sensible and leave on your own accord. Otherwise, it will only be you who ends up embarrassed."
I froze for a moment.
So, it seemed that Alpha Frank had already had everything planned out. The Blood Moon Pack released those posters to make him dump me, and then he'd go ahead with his union with Rosy.
"Let me give you a heads - up. Alpha Frank loves no one but himself."
With that, I stood up, ready to leave.
But Rosy suddenly shot to her feet and grabbed my wrist with a vice - like grip, her voice shrill.
"How dare you say that about him?!"
Before I could even react, Rosy raised her hand, aiming a slap at me.
In a split - second response, I swiveled my arm and pushed Rosy with all my might.
She stumbled backwards and landed on the floor with a thud.
My back slammed hard against the edge of the table, and my entire body toppled to the ground.
My head hit the floor, and a searing pain shot through me.
Just then, the door was flung open with a bang.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
I lifted my head, and there I saw Alpha Frank striding towards us.
In an instant, he was by my side, his hands gently supporting me. His voice trembled slightly as he asked, "Yulia, are you okay?"
Rosy stared at him in disbelief. "Alpha Frank, I'm your fiancée!!" she cried out.
Alpha Frank didn't even spare her a glance.
"Rosy, I'm warning you. If you ever dare to harass Yulia again, you'll pay the price,"
With that, Alpha Frank closed the door firmly.
Rosy let out a sob and ran off.
"Yulia, please don't misunderstand. This is a forced union arranged by the family. I've been keeping it from you all this time, desperately hoping to sort it out quietly on my own. I never in a million years thought that imbecile Rosy would have the audacity to come here and provoke you. You know how crazy I am about you. My heart is so full of you that there's simply no room for anyone else. I promise you, I will never be with her. Please, you have to believe me, okay?"
I just kept my head low.
"Darling, how about I take you diving tomorrow to help you unwind? The underwater world is so peaceful and beautiful. Maybe it can wash away all your worries."
I lifted my head, meeting his earnest gaze.
After a long moment of hesitation,I finally gave a slight nod.
