Chapter 2
Welcome to our story.
So let us begin from the moment where the first chapter came to an end.
After defeating the goblin, Aryan and his two younger siblings crossed the forest together. Earlier, Aryan had hidden them safely among the distant bushes, far away from danger. As they finally emerged from the dense woods, a breathtaking sight unfolded before them-a city stood right in front of their eyes.
It was a city built entirely of stone. Massive stone houses stood proudly, and at the entrance was a gigantic gate guarded by soldiers dressed in military attire. Anyone who wished to enter the city had to show a mark on their hand. Those who already possessed the mark-or were willing to receive it-were allowed to pass through the gate.
Aryan and his siblings joined the line.
When Aryan's turn arrived, a guard asked him something. Aryan didn't know how, but he and his siblings could clearly understand the words. At that moment, the familiar blue light spoke inside his mind.
"You can understand their language because your own language has transformed into the language of this world."
"Oh... that makes sense," Aryan replied internally. "But what about my brother and sister?"
"Your power has been inherited by them as well. That is why they can understand this language too."
Aryan's attention shifted back to the guard, who repeated, "Show me your mark."
"I don't have one," Aryan replied honestly.
"Then do you wish to receive the mark and become a resident of our city?" the guard asked.
So this mark is basically a visa, Aryan thought.
That was when he learned from a nearby man that the city was called Swarajpur. Aryan nodded in agreement, and soon the mark was placed on his hand-and on the hands of his siblings as well.
As soon as they entered the city, all eyes turned toward them.
Since emerging from the white light, Aryan had changed dramatically. He had become strikingly handsome-almost unreal.
People whispered among themselves.
Can a human really be this beautiful?
"I wish he were my boyfriend," said a plump girl dreamily.
"Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror?" another girl snapped. "Forget being his girlfriend-he wouldn't even glance at you."
"He would obviously want someone beautiful like me," a third girl said smugly.
Soon, a large crowd gathered around Aryan.
Seeing the commotion, the city commander arrived. Her name was Sana.
She was around twenty or twenty-one years old, graceful and beautiful, with a slender figure. She wore a soldier's uniform-but it was clearly superior to that of an ordinary soldier. A faint shade of red colored her hair. Her eyes were light brown, her nose sharp, and her lips soft like flower petals.
When Sana saw Aryan, she froze for a brief moment, unconsciously lost in his face. Quickly regaining her composure, she asked,
"Why have you gathered such a crowd?"
"They gathered on their own," Aryan replied calmly.
Sana immediately dispersed the crowd.
Then she looked at Aryan again and asked,
"By the way... are you new here?"
"Yes," Aryan said. "How did you know?"
"I've seen all kinds of people," Sana replied. "I can tell who's new and who isn't just by looking at their face."
"Oh," Aryan said simply.
"So, where are you headed?" Sana asked.
"I don't know," Aryan admitted. "I'm new to this city."
At that moment, his little sister-about eight or nine years old-tugged at his pants and gestured for him to bend down. She whispered into his ear,
"Brother, that big sister is really nice, isn't she?"
"Yes, she is," Aryan replied softly.
"Then marry her! The neighbor aunty said that if you wait too long, you won't find a bride."
Hearing her innocent words, Aryan smiled.
"That's not true," he said gently. "And even if I wanted to marry, there's no shortage of girls. You saw that earlier, didn't you?"
His sister placed her hand on her head thoughtfully.
"Okay, brother."
Aryan smiled again, completely melted by her cuteness.
Sana noticed the interaction and asked,
"Who are they?"
"They're my younger siblings," Aryan replied.
"They're very cute," Sana said with a smile.
"If you don't have any work, come with me," she added. "I'll help you find a job."
She motioned for him to follow, and Aryan walked behind her with his siblings. As they moved through the city, Aryan was astonished. Everyone used magic-whether it was a vegetable vendor or a wealthy businessman.
Soon, they stopped in front of a restaurant.
"You'll get a job here," Sana said and walked inside.
"This restaurant belongs to my Aunt Ria," she explained. "She's very old now and can't manage it on her own. She needs someone
to take care of it."
Inside, Sana spotted her aunt and immediately hugged her.
"My daughter! How are you?" Aunt Ria asked.
"I'm fine, Auntie," Sana replied.
"And look who I brought today," Sana said, pointing toward Aryan.
When Aunt Ria saw such a handsome young man following Sana, she instantly assumed he was Sana's boyfriend.
"So you got yourself a boyfriend and didn't even tell me!" she exclaimed. "Tell him to sit with me-I'll talk to him about your marriage."
She said all of that in one breath.
"Auntie, he's not my boyfriend!" Sana protested.
Aunt Ria's face drooped slightly.
"Oh... he isn't?"
"So what if he isn't?" she continued cheerfully. "He can become one. I don't think even royal princes would be as handsome as this boy."
"Auntie, I can't do this," Sana said, though a faint blush appeared on her face.
"I can tell from your blush whether you want it or not," Aunt Ria teased. "Don't worry, I'll talk to him."
"No, Auntie," Sana said quickly, stopping her.
Meanwhile, Aryan and his siblings approached them, amazed by the massive and magical restaurant.
This was no ordinary place. Demi-humans, yoginis, and vampires were calmly dining together.
Aryan bowed respectfully.
"Hello, Auntie."
"What are you doing?" Aunt Ria asked.
"This is how people greet each other in our city," Aryan replied.
"Oh," she said with interest. "So, do you want to work here?"
"Yes, Auntie," Aryan answered.
"Then you'll wake up at nine every morning, open the restaurant, command the magical stove to cook, and serve food to the tables," she said.
Aryan looked at the stove-it was cooking on its own.
"You don't need to worry about accommodation," Aunt Ria continued. "I have a room. You and your siblings can stay there. I'll provide food as well."
"And your salary will be two silver coins."
The blue light had already told Aryan that one silver coin was worth a thousand bronze coins-and that a family could survive comfortably on just a thousand.
Two thousand bronze coins, plus food and shelter, was more than enough.
"Thank you," Aryan said sincerely.
And so, Aryan began working there.
But what awaits him next?
How will Aryan survive in this new world?
To witness the rise of a magician among magicians-

My world shattered twice. First, the ocean claimed my son. Then, the mountain road took another, a direct sacrifice to the man I loved and the woman he chose. In the hospital, beeps marked the emptiness where my second son used to be, echoing the first loss, both involving Holden and Giana.
During the car crash, I was pinned, bleeding, and trapped. Holden, my partner, looked me in the eyes, then chose to save Giana, abandoning me and our unborn child.
Soon, I overheard Holden praising Giana for turning our tragedy into a PR win. His hollow apologies and focus on Giana’s "miracle work" reignited the brutal memory of her push and his past denials.
A decade of sacrificing my life and two children for a man who saw me as a liability left a bitter taste. His choice was clear; only profound abandonment remained.
But this time, I was choosing me. From my profound loss, a dangerous spark ignited: I would not just survive; I would find freedom and make him pay.

I run my family's political dynasty with an iron fist. From my father’s Senate votes to my own calculated engagement, every move is mine to control.
Then, in a single evening, my ambitious stepmother made her play. She used our housekeeper as a spy and orchestrated a scandal involving my fiancé and stepsister, designed to shatter my reputation and power.
They thought they could break me. Within twelve hours, the spy was dead on the marble floor of my foyer. My fiancé’s family was blackmailed into silence. My stepsister was exiled to a Swiss boarding school, and I stripped my own father of his authority for his weakness.
As for my stepmother, Bronte, I had her declared mentally unstable and forcibly taken to a remote facility in Montana, completely cut off from the world.
Everyone saw a cold-hearted coup, but they didn't know the secret I held. I had proof that Bronte had systematically orchestrated my brother’s death years ago, all to position her own son to inherit everything. This wasn't about power; it was vengeance.
But winning the war at home has put me on a much deadlier board. Now, I'm preparing for a dinner with Eldridge Marsh—the most dangerous man in Washington—who wants to decide if I'm a player he can use, or a threat he needs to destroy.
