He Locked The Collar On My Cousin, I Shattered The Mycenaean Seal Chapter 1

The heavy silver collar snapped shut, completely missing my neck.

"I claim you as my Luna," Julian declared to my cousin.

Serena smirked, pressing her blood-red lips victoriously against my fiancé's chest.

They dragged me across the freezing marble to execute the "wolfless defect."

But Julian's descending blade never struck. My spine ignited into liquid magma, expanding my bones into a towering, ancient silver beast.

When the legendary Northern Warlord shattered the cathedral doors, he didn't come to slaughter my treacherous pack—he dropped to his knees to crown me.

"The holy water has already blessed the silver." Julian Thorne's voice cut through the tense, suffocating silence of the Winter Cathedral.

I stood at the center of the altar, practically suffocating beneath the layers of a heavy, pure silk wedding dress. The intricate lace scratched my collarbone, but I kept my posture perfectly straight. I extended my trembling hands, waiting for my betrothed of ten long years to complete the binding ritual. The entire Winter Pack watched from the ancient wooden pews.

Julian walked right past me.

The cold draft from his movement fluttered my lace veil, chilling the sweat on my skin. I turned, my breath catching in my throat as I watched his broad back approach the choir stalls.

Serena stood there. My cousin. She wore a plunging crimson gown that defied every single tradition of a white winter mating ceremony, her lips painted a victorious, blood-red hue.

"Julian?" I asked, my voice echoing off the vaulted ceilings. A hollow pit opened in my stomach.

He completely ignored me. He stopped directly in front of my cousin and raised the pure silver mate collar. Drops of blessed holy water fell from the polished metal, hitting the stone floor with sharp, echoing slaps.

"I claim you as my Luna," Julian declared, his tone steady, authoritative, and deliberately loud enough for the entire pack to hear.

He fastened the metal around Serena's neck. The latch snapped shut with a sharp, metallic crack that sounded like a gunshot in the quiet room.

"It fits perfectly, Alpha Julian," Serena murmured, her voice dripping with artificial sweetness. She traced the engraved runes on the silver, tilting her head to shoot a vicious, mocking smile right over his shoulder. At me.

"What is the meaning of this?" I demanded, abandoning my spot at the altar. I marched toward them, the heavy train of my dress dragging clumsily behind me. The whispers of the pack rose into a buzzing swarm.

Julian finally turned to face me. His gaze swept over my traditional white gown, his eyes narrowing with absolute, undisguised disgust. "I am doing what is best for the pack, Aria. A true Alpha needs a Luna with actual power."

"We have been betrothed for ten years!" I yelled, closing the distance between us. "I ran your ledgers. I negotiated your borders. You swore an oath to me under the full moon!"

"And in ten years, you never shifted," Julian replied smoothly, his voice devoid of a single ounce of guilt. "You are a wolfless defect, Aria. A biological dead end. I absolutely refuse to tie my Alpha bloodline to a weakling."

The words struck me like physical blows, but underneath the crushing humiliation, a strange sensation sparked to life. Deep beneath the fabric of my dress, right over my spine, my crescent-shaped birthmark suddenly burned. It was a searing, agonizing heat, completely foreign and terrifyingly alive, pulsing in time with my racing heart.
