Seducing Mr Lycarr Chapter 1

Kiara POV

This night was supposed to the happiest day of my life because I will be getting engaged to my fated mate but, I stood alone at the edge of the grand ballroom, watching him kiss another woman.

My chest tightened painfully as he dipped her slightly and kissed her again, slowly, as if he wanted the entire world to see who he belonged to now.

A few months ago, our Alpha died during a brutal battle against rogue wolves. Since then, several powerful heirs had been competing for the position including Tristan but real power belonged to the Lycarr family because they controlled the entire werewolf council and the most powerful man among them was Xavier Lycarr.

I forced my eyes away from the dance floor and walked toward the bar because If I stayed another minute watching them, I might actually lose my mind. I slid onto a stool and signaled the bartender.

Before I could speak, a deep male voice beside me said calmly, “Get me a glass of beer and soda for the lady.”

I turned slightly and a tall man had taken the seat next to me but he hadn’t even looked at me yet.

Instead, he watched the crowd with a bored expression, his posture relaxed but powerful.

The bartender immediately began preparing the drinks and a moment later, the stranger’s gaze finally shifted toward me.

The bartender placed the glass of soda in front of me.

I picked it up immediately and took a long sip, the stranger lifted his whiskey glass but didn’t drink yet. “I’m here out of obligation,” he added.

Across the room, Tristan pulled Aurora close again and she laughed softly, resting her head against his shoulder.

Something inside my chest twisted painfully, did the mark on my neck mean so little to him?

The faint mate mark still rested just below my collarbone which was a proof that he had once claimed me.

“Thank you for the drink,” I muttered to the stranger after finishing half the glass. I slid off the stool, ready to leave before I embarrassed myself by crying in public.

Unfortunately, fate had other plans as I stepped down, the edge of my blouse snagged on the bar counter and I heard the fabric rip.

Before I could react, my foot slipped and my body tipped forward, I braced for the hard floor but strong arms caught me instead.

My breath left my lungs as I was suddenly lifted into the air, I blinked in surprise and looked up then froze.

The man holding me was devastatingly handsome, he has sharp jaw, dark hair and broad shoulders.

He carried me effortlessly, as if I weighed nothing at all and when he smiled, a deep dimple appeared in his cheek.

A ridiculously attractive dimple and for a brief, embarrassing moment, I wondered what it would feel like to kiss it.

“ ma'am ,” he said smoothly, amusement dancing in his eyes. “Are you falling for me already?”

I narrowed my eyes slightly. “You’re very funny.”

He chuckled softly before glancing down and his gaze lingered on my chest.

Confused, I followed his eye and my shirt had torn open slightly near the side seam and heat rushed to my face. “Oh Goddess.”

“Come upstairs with me,” he said casually.

My heart skipped. “What?”

His expression remained calm. “Your shirt is ruined and I have clothes in my suite.”

I forced an awkward laugh. “That would be… helpful, thank you.”

He nodded toward the bartender. “Charge the drinks to my suite.”

“Yes, sir.”

Before I could protest, the man simply lifted me again and carried me toward the private elevator and I didn’t fight him because his arms were warm and strangely comforting.

My wolf, who had been quiet all night, stirred inside my mind not with pain but with interest.

That alone shocked me and when we entered the luxurious VIP suite upstairs, he finally set me down.

Then he walked to the closet. “Take off your shirt,” he said calmly. I blinked. “Excuse me?”

“So you can change,” he said, already searching through hangers.

Feeling slightly ridiculous, I removed the torn blouse and tossed it onto the bed, now I stood there in nothing but my bra.

When he turned around holding a clean shirt, his entire body froze, his eyes slowly traveled over me and heat rushed through my skin under his intense stare.

For some reason… I didn’t cover myself.

Instead, I studied him and suddenly something clicked.

Recognition hit me and my breath caught. “It’s… you.”

His eyebrow lifted. “You know me?”

“I know of you.”

A slow smile spread across his lips as he stepped closer. “And what exactly do you know?”

My heart started beating faster. “Only rumors.”

“Tell me.”

I swallowed. “You’re Xavier Lycarr.”

He didn’t deny it. “And?”

I hesitated. “You’re also known for never sleeping with the same woman twice.”

His brows lifted in amusement. “Is that so?”

He continued walking toward me slowly and my back touched the wall. “And what else?” he murmured.

I lifted my gaze. “They say your eyes are hypnotizing.”

He stepped closer, only inches separated us now. “And?”

My voice lowered. “They say when you smile… a dimple appears.”

His lips curved again and the dimple appeared exactly where I remembered. “And your lips…” I started softly.

Before I could finish, he kissed me hard and possessive, the kiss stole the air from my lungs.

For one wild moment, I forgot everything about Tristan and his betrayal, nothing existed except the man in front of me.

My hands slid into his hair as I kissed him back, his body pressed mine against the wall, lifting me slightly so my legs instinctively wrapped around his waist and his lips moved to my neck, sending heat through my entire body.

“Are you sure about this?” he asked roughly between kisses, my breath came out shaky. “Yes.”

If Tristan could replace me so easily, shouldn’t I move on too?

His hands slid down my back, pulling me closer, then suddenly my phone rang and when I picked......“Kiara! Please come home!”

The frantic mindlink from my adoptive mother exploded in my head and her voice was filled with panic.

Ice shot through my veins and I pushed against Xavier chest immediately. “Stop.”

He frowned. “What?”

“I have to go.”

His expression darkened slightly. “I don’t enjoy games.”

“This isn’t a game,” I said breathlessly. “Something’s wrong.”

I turned toward the door but he caught my wrist. “Your shirt,” he reminded me calmly.

I looked down and I was still half naked.

He sighed before pulling his own shirt off and placing it over my head, the fabric hung loosely around my body.

It smelled like him and without another word, I ran from the suite, by the time I got home, my heart was pounding violently.

The front door was open and I rushed inside. “Mom?”

Sobs echoed from the kitchen.

My adoptive mother was collapsed against the counter, crying uncontrollably, fear shot through my chest. “Mom, what happened?”

She looked up at me, tears streaming down her face.

“Kiara… the Shadow guards came tonight.”

My stomach dropped. “They took your father.”
