Beastbound Chapter 1

I woke up and found myself transmigrated into my nemesis' doll. At first, I thought he was still a child at heart for keeping this. Then, I realized he was just unhinged. The doll's face looked just like mine.

And then the bigger surprise was that he was a beastfolk. Every night, he would torture me with his literal serpent tail. I eventually told him I knew what he was.

He imprisoned me on the bed and smiled at me gently. What came next were cruel words. "Since you already know, I'll drop the mask now. Tell me, do you want to use those toys or my tail?"

A Doll

"Dammit!" I slammed the file onto the table and plopped into my chair, disheveled. Another project snagged by that bastard, Nathaniel Gray!

He was my best friend when we were kids. We spent all the time together, but then he went overseas and took over his family's business after he came back. I took over my family's company at the same time.

The first thing he did was fight me for a project instead of catching up with me, though. Up until now, he'd sniped a lot of projects that should've been mine. I cursed him.

My assistant came in. "Mr. Gray's in the waiting room, ma'am."

That bastard had the nerve to see me? I laughed mirthlessly and stomped over to the waiting room. But before I went in, I kept my fury down and held up my composure, then I opened the door.

"You made it." Nathaniel was on the couch, his legs crossed loosely, and he gave me a smirk.

I clenched my teeth. "You should be celebrating, Mr. Gray. What are you doing at my dingy company? To offer your apology?"

"Apology?" Nathaniel's smirk turned into a mocking smile. "You're delusional." He stood up and approached me. "If you don't have the aptitude for management, Ms. Birch, I suggest you don't push yourself."

He stood before me and said coolly, "Hand me your company, and I'll make both our businesses stronger!"

That arrogance made me nauseous. My face fell, and I grabbed his collar in a huff. That made him bend down. "Don't get too cocky, Nathaniel. One of these days, I'll buy out your company!"

He chortled and breathed in my face. "Keep dreaming." He sneered in disdain. "Try your best."

My resentment burned until bedtime. I was in my bed, deep in sleep when a blinding light woke me up. That was curious. I wondered if I'd left the lights on. I wanted to hold my hand over my eyes, but then I realized something.

I couldn't move my arms!

And this room was obviously not mine!

A low, hoarse voice echoed right beside me. "Hey, babe."

I looked at the guy. He was wearing a towel around his waist, revealing his sturdy chest, with water droplets rolling down his skin. Nathaniel.

To please his mistress, he pressed glowing coals laced with silver directly into my palms, burning the hands that had once woven protection spells for him. Then, he watched with cold indifference as I drowned in the freezing Moon Pool, sneering that I was just "being dramatic." It wasn't until the autopsy that he saw the surgical scars on my heart. He finally realized I hadn't lost my wolf—I had given it to him. Consumed by madness and guilt, Floyd sacrificed his own soul in the Silver Dungeon, begging the Goddess to turn back time. He wanted a second chance to worship me. When I opened my eyes, I was eighteen again, back at the Academy. Floyd stood before me, his eyes ancient and filled with tears. "I remember everything," he choked out, reaching for me with a trembling hand. "I came back for you, my Luna." I looked at the man who had murdered me in the name of love. "You think suicide buys forgiveness?" I stepped back, grabbing the hand of the quiet Beta student he used to despise. "I reject you, Floyd Meyers." "And this time, I'm choosing the man who would never let me burn."

I was kneeling on the cold concrete of an abandoned warehouse, staring at a ticking timer while a masked man held a knife to my throat. My fiancé's nephew, Preston, finally burst through the door, but he wasn't alone. He was clutching my stepsister, Felicia, both of them looking frantic. The kidnapper gave Preston a brutal choice: the bomb was rigged to the door, and he could only take one woman with him. The other would stay behind to burn. Without a single second of hesitation, Preston grabbed Felicia's hand and turned his back on me. "I'm sorry, Annelise," he said, his voice flat and devoid of any real regret. He slammed the heavy iron door shut, leaving me to scream in the darkness as the flames began to roar. He didn't just leave me to die; he did it to protect his inheritance, treating me like a piece of trash that was finally being cleared from his path. Later, in the hospital, he didn't even offer an apology. Instead, he raised his hand to strike me, threatening to finish what the fire started if I dared to speak a word about his cowardice. His stepsister laughed, trying to pour scalding coffee on my face while calling me a pathetic loser who should have stayed in the warehouse. I sat there, cowering and shaking like a broken girl, letting them believe they had won. I watched their cruelty with wide, watery eyes, wondering how they could be so blind to the monster they were provoking. What Preston didn't know was that the entire kidnapping was a performance I had choreographed myself, and every second of his betrayal was recorded in 4K. Now, I've successfully moved into the manor of the real king-his uncle, Francesco Lancaster. He thinks he's rescued a wounded bird, but he's actually invited a world-class predator into his home. The game is no longer about survival; it's about total destruction.
