Secret Heiress: The Mafia Billionaire's Surrogate Chapter 1

Valerie's POV

[You have to come home immediately, Valerie.] My stepbrother called me in the middle of the night.

I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see it and said, “Don't tell me Dad wanted to convince me again. I told you I'm not taking over his company or illegal businesses. Besides, no one knows who I am.”

[There are more important things to discuss than that, Valerie.]

“Like what?”

He paused before taking a deep breath and answered, [Our Dad…]

“What about him, Andrew?”

[He's dead.]

Those words remained in my mind, so I returned to my father's place; I wanted to see him before he went. I made a promise to him that I would never inherit everything he had, but his death changed my mind, and I will do everything to make them pay.

Walking through this hallway blindfolded is clever enough, especially since they must ensure we won't remember every track we made. The sound of the door caught my attention, and they pushed me down to a comfy couch. My eyes remain blindfolded, listening to my surroundings while waiting for their next move. After discovering that Mason Gray was looking for a potential surrogate, I immediately signed up without hesitation.

I changed the way I dress. I change my name and ensure they won't find any loopholes in my identity.

“Take it off,” a husky voice lingers in my ears as I obey his order. My eyes were blurry because I had been blindfolded for too long, and when it finally adjusted, I was exposed to a good-looking man—the man of the house, Mason Gray.

“These ladies are gorgeous. Can you lend me one, Mason?” A young man's voice made me turn to his right side. He's blonde with a pair of gray eyes, and he was peeling an apple. He's wearing a white shirt top with a black leather jacket while his feet are above the desk.

“Let Mason choose, Dominic. After all, it was Mason's candidate.” Another man spoke from behind, and I couldn't help but turn around. He wore a blue polo, black slacks, and black leather shoes. He also has a pair of light brown eyes and black hair.

He was reading a book seriously, and no emotion could be found in his eyes. I blink my eyes when he gazes at me, so I turn my head back up front where my main target is. His eyes had no emotion, and he stared at me with those expressionless eyes.

“You only found five?” He asked, glancing at the man who took me to this place.

He stepped forward and said, “It's hard to find a potential surrogate. You have standards, and only these five women fit your standards.”

“Very well.” He faced us and said, “Are you aware of what kind of place you are entering?” He inquired.

A girl wearing a red tube raised her hand, and the clothes she was wearing weren't enough to cover her breasts. “I know.”

He smirked, “Tell me.”

“You are the greatest Mason Gray, son of Arnold Gray. No people won't recognize such an attractive man like you, so when I heard you were looking for a surrogate. I quickly accept it,” she said sweetly.

“Five candidates, only one can stay. I want someone intelligent and who knows how to handle things when needed, especially since I have a complicated family. I want a woman who's good at pretending and strong at the same time. You are not just going to be my surrogate; you will pretend to be my wife.”

A woman wearing a tight purple dress gasped, “I will be your wife—”

“I already chose the lucky girl.” He rose from his seat and stood in front of us. His eyes fixed on me, and he asked, “What about you? Why are you here?”

“I came here for money. I was promised five hundred thousand dollars if I came here, and that's my reason.”

“Hmm, is that so? Why do you need the money?”

I exhaled softly and replied, “I have a sick sister, and she needs immediate medical assistance. That's why I didn't hesitate coming here even if I knew what kind of danger might await me.”

A sly smirked flash to his lips before leaning on his desk and glancing at his men. He motioned them, and four men stood behind those four ladies while I remained confused about their actions.

“I chose this woman,” his eyes pointed at me.

That was a relief. I thought I would fail this, but gladly, he chose me.

“Ugh! What a waste,” the woman wearing a red tube rolled her eyes when our eyes met. She stood up but immediately pushed back to her seat. “Get your hands off me!”

“One thing you don't know about coming here, ladies,” he murmured. Mason went back to his seat and leaned; after that, his face became serious. “Only one will come out alive.”

“What?—” I froze when they shot the four women in the heads, and blood splashed on me. I was shocked by what he did and watched these women die. He is a monster.

“I told you to lend me one woman, Mason. Why did you kill them all?” The blonde guy complained, but Mason ignored him.

“I believe you have a name.”

I glanced at him and nodded, “Yes. I am Valerie Moore.”

“Valerie. I chose you to be my surrogate, and you have 365 days to give me a child. You will pretend to be my wife, give birth to my child, and then we'll end our contract.” He put a white folder on his desk before cupping his hands and said, “I will pay you ten million dollars. The five hundred thousand dollars will be given to you as promise, and also thirty percent of ten million dollars. You will get the remaining money after you give birth to my child.”

He pushed it forward, “Sign it.”

I got up and took the pen before signing it without hesitation. He took it and checked my signature before extending his arm to seal the contract with a handshake and said, “Welcome to my messy world, Valerie.”

Three perfect years with my mate, and tonight I wanted everything to be perfect. "Do you think he'll like the surprise?" I asked my reflection, adjusting the moonstone pendant that had been my mother's. It was the last thing she'd given me before passing, and I wore it only on special occasions. My wolf, Aria, purred with satisfaction. *He'll love it. You've prepared his favorite meal.* I glanced at the dining room table, set with our finest china and candles. The roast was resting, vegetables steaming, and a bottle of aged red wine—Tyson's favorite—hidden in the car for the final touch. "He should be home any minute," I murmured, checking my phone.
