Chapter 2

Sabrina

I cross my legs and look at Harold's face when he finds out that I and my three best friends had been home last night and witnessed his infidelity. I throw the divorce agreement that Arin wrote.

She was a lawyer, while Lily was a general surgeon, and Hanna manages two of her family's businesses, an entertainment and broadcasting company.

"You know that it's easy for me to... expose your shit, Mr. Ross. I wonder how your parents and grandpa will... discipline you after this video is shown on television and social media. So..." Hanna halts and glares at Harold.

"The prince of the Ross family will surely be seen as a beggar in the streets if he disagrees to sign these papers and drags his butt in that office," Arin added. Lily suddenly throws the knife in the middle of the table.

"Choose your poison, Harold. I can save lives, but I know how to end one without leaving a trace," she stated, smirking.

The three of us blinked when we saw her lethal expression. Hanna laughs and looks at Harold. "You heard her. She's a surgeon, don't forget that," she stated.

Harold looks at me, and her smugly expression flashes. I held my fork and knife tightly. "How about you, hmm? Don't forget. You have nothing now, Sabrina. Your grandmother has disowned you. I know that old woman too well. She will never forgive you no matter how you kneel in front of the Paige's ancestral mansion," Harold mocks.

Arin threw her fork in Harold's plate, which startled him. "Have you forgotten who we are, Mr. Ross? Do you really think we'll leave her behind?" she grunted.

I raise my hand and stop them from making one more remark. They rolled their eyes. "Just signed the papers, and we'll go to the respective office after. You shouldn't make me mad, Harold. You haven't seen that side of me."

I cut the meat, and the eerie sound that my knife created startled them. "I'm sure you can't handle my wrath if you keep on making things nastier than they have been," I added.

I chewed the meat and calmly stared at his face. I'm trying to control myself not to throw the knife in his face. "Alright! Let's see where you'll end up. Don't beg me if you finally realize that I'm not joking," Harold says.

He even chuckles to mock me. He signed the papers. After breakfast, my best friends came with us. They watch the two of us as we fill in the form. We received the papers that prove that we're divorced. As we walked out of the building, I smirked when I saw the evidence that I'm already divorced. Lily opens the car door for me.

"We must celebrate later tonight. You finally woke up, honey!" she jokes.

Harold scoffs and looks at us. "Don't be bitter, EX. Anyway, say hi to Leah for me. It's her turn to pick up the trash that I throw away," I stated. I look at him meaningfully. We laugh and get inside the car.

Gabriel

At the parking lot, Leah was glaring at me. We used different cars. I'm glad I didn't listen to her when she told me that I should sell my car. It's second-hand and not a style for my age, but as long as I have a vehicle to use, I don't mind.

"Make sure that after this, you keep your mouth shut and delete that video. Don't make me mad, Gabriel. The Ford family can make your life a living hell." I scoff and shake my head lightly.

"Is that so? I don't mind deleting that filthy video. Let's get inside. Looking at you makes me want to throw up," I grunted.

She was insulted, but I passed through her and went inside first. After filling in the needed document, we handed over our marriage certificate. "If the two of you had decided not to pursue this, you can both come back to cancel the process during the cooling-off period," she said.

We look at each other and scoff. "I don't pick the trash that I already threw away," I commented.

I walked away and ignored Leah's reaction. I get inside my car and drive back to where my paternal grandma lives. As I arrived, she welcomed me with open arms. "You finally realize your mistake, my grandson," she says while hugging me tightly. I simply smile sadly.

"Let's get inside. I cooked your favorite meal," she stated. "Thank you, Grandma."

At the table, she was looking at me. "I should've listened to you, Grandma. Marrying a rich lady is a mistake," I utter. She shakes her head.

"No. You married the wrong lady. Not all women or men from conglomerate families look down on ordinary people like us. Not all ordinary or poor people are good ones either," she commented. What she said was true.

"I wasted my youth on a selfish woman like her grandma. I sacrificed my dreams for her, yet she didn't see those sacrifices that I made," I mumbled. She placed a card on the table.

"All the money that you sent to me was all here. Your grandpa and I saved some money also. This card has three million dollars. You can start the business that you've been thinking about. Grandma will support you," she stated.

My tears fall, and I stop eating my noodles. "Eat... you have become thinner. Stop dwelling on the past and move forward, my grandson."

I message my friends and tell them my plans. They told me that we should meet in a bar to celebrate as well. All of them were happy that I let go of my toxic marriage.

At seven, we meet on one of the clubbing streets. Shawn told me that they paid for a room and hired some female models. They haven't changed a bit. I was walking in the hallway when one of the doors opened and a woman bumped into me.

"I'm sorry!" we both said.

I heard a sound and watched her beautiful hair fall on her shoulder. I looked down and saw the jade hairpin that holds them together. I pick it up and face her. "Let me tie it for you," I utter. She smiled.

"Are you sure?" Wait, she looks familiar!
