---

I joined the royal pack when I was just fourteen, a young wolf orphaned by a rogue attack. The Lycan King, Preston Williamson, took me in, giving me a place among his warriors. Now, nine years later, I’ve spent nearly a decade serving the Prince, Kyson Williamson.

In the first three years, I told the Prince I wanted to leave the pack, to find my mate and start a new life. He gave me a vague nod of approval, but my chosen mate, a Delta from a neighboring pack, suddenly broke our bond. I couldn’t help but suspect the Prince’s involvement. When I confronted him, he looked at me with those cold, piercing eyes and said, “I would never stoop to such petty interference.”

The next three years, I threw myself into my duties, serving the Prince with unwavering loyalty. Perhaps out of pity, he told me, “When I become the Lycan King, I’ll let you go.” I felt a chill run down my spine. The Prince was cunning, his words always laced with hidden meaning. I didn’t trust him.

The last three years, the Prince found his Luna, Eloise Dean, and their bond was celebrated across the pack. When I brought up leaving again, he feigned ignorance. “Lorelei, you were promised to someone?” he asked, his tone dismissive. My heart sank, and I clenched my fists. How many years of my life would he waste? I could feel my wolf stir within me, restless and frustrated.

Determined to take matters into my own hands, I sought an audience with the Lycan King. He was wise, his presence commanding yet kind. He stroked his beard thoughtfully and said, “I long to see the pack’s future secured with an heir.” I understood. The day the Prince becomes a father is the day I’ll finally be free.

I stood frozen among the pack members, the monthly meeting's usual chatter falling into stunned silence. My heart hammered against my ribs as I watched my mate—my Alpha, my husband of eight years—betray our son with nothing more than a casual announcement. "As Alpha of the Silvermoon Pack," Ryan declared, his voice carrying that authoritative timbre that once made me weak at the knees, "I've decided that Connor Collins will take the open position in the elite Alpha training program." The pack hall erupted in hushed whispers. Everyone knew that position belonged to Jake—our son, the pack heir, who had trained tirelessly for months to earn his place. I felt the stares, some pitying, some curious, all wondering what the Luna would do now that her mate had publicly chosen another wolf's child over his own. Inside me, Selene howled in outrage. *He's doing it again. He's choosing her over us. Over our pup.* My wolf had seen this coming long before I allowed myself to acknowledge it. The way Ryan leaned toward Vanessa during pack meetings.

I woke up in a lavish bedroom, only to find a man built like a god of war chained to my wall, glaring at me with pure, unadulterated hatred. A glowing apparition appeared and told me I had died in a car crash and transmigrated into the body of Elara, a tyrant Luna. Worse, the chained man was Ryker, one of my six fated mates whom the original Elara had brutally tortured. Because of her sadistic crimes-starving them, exiling them, and sending two of them on a suicide mission-my affinity with them was at negative five hundred. The apparition delivered my terrifying death sentence. "In three days, at the Marking Ceremony, you will be killed by your six mates." No matter what I did-freeing Ryker, sharing my food, or lifting their brother's exile-they viewed every act of kindness as a sick, twisted trap. They were just waiting for the punchline to my cruel joke, ready to expose me and end my life. I was just a librarian who organized book clubs and paid my taxes.
