Chapter 10
Late into the evening, Amelia was scared as no one came to find her nor bring her any meal. The dungeon was getting dark and the candles were not lit.
She hugged herself and remained still. Her eighteenth birthday came with a mix of excitement and regret. Excited because for the first time, she communicated with her wolf and regrets because she would have been fine at home, had she insisted on not coming to the Pack's gathering.
She heard doorsteps approaching and strengthened herself. A guard came into view, opened the dungeon door and unlocked her chained feet before ordering “come with me”
Obediently, Amelia followed and he led the way to the pack house. She kept following the guard until he brought her before the Alpha. He was seated on the high throne and Amelia below him, her head bowed in reference.
“You shall henceforth be enlisted among the servants in the palace. And whenever I summoned you, you must bring your miserable cursed self before me” Alpha Kasper declared.
He glared at the petite woman before him and gnashed his teeth. His palm formed a fist and his fangs itched him to bite this cursed wolf before him.
“Will I be entitled to my three square meals?” Amelia asked. She'd been in the dungeon all day and no one brought a meal for her. If serving as a servant in the palace would get her her meals, that's okay by her.
Serving as a servant was far better than being in locks in the dungeon. It's a perfect life to be serving provided she gets her meal daily.
The guards exchanged glances. This woman is indeed not deserving of the Alpha. She was supposed to be the Luna and she was brought to the lowest rank, serving in the pack house where she's supposed to be the Luna and all that mattered to her was having her meals daily?
They shook their hands. It is better that the Alpha rejects her. She will only plunge their pack into ruin, a downward abyss.
“You will be entitled to a meal from the waste bin only and that is my order. Now take her to the servants quarters” Alpha Kasper commanded.
He watched her being taken away and he felt a lump in his throat. If his mother hadn't intervened saying Nana had been hurt all because she picked a fight with Chelsea for Amelia's sake, he would have forgotten her in the dungeon.
She wants to eat the special meal prepared at the pack house, fine. She would have them but only the leftovers dumped in the waste bin. She would be treated less than the servants in the pack house.
Amelia was taken to the servants quarters and she was pushed into a room as the guards turned around and left. The room was narrow, barely leaving a path between the tiny mattress and the open area.
Amelia, who had landed on the floor, helped herself stand up. Her stomach churned. She's famished haven not eaten besides a few spoons of porridge from home before going with Nana to the Pack's gathering.
But it appeared she wasn't going to have anything that night. No one really cared about her, whether she lived or she died, it meant nothing to anyone.
She saw the room was dusty, picking a napkin dumped on a corner, she began to clean the room quickly. Windows opened and being satisfied with the cleaned room, Amelia laid on the bed.
She had no dress to change into. All she had was the only dress on her. She laid on her bed, coiled up. She wondered how Nana was feeling at the moment. Was she able to sleep that night or like her, she was full of thoughts?
She didn't know when she drifted off to sleep but the next morning, she was awakened by a splash of water on her face. Amelia jolted out of her bed, almost tumbling over to the floor.
Before her stood a very viscous looking woman. On her hand was a jug of water half emptied and the result of it is Amelia's drenched dress.
“You think you are here to sleep all day. Who do you think you are? Do you see yourself as the Luna of this pack to still be sleeping at this time?” She gnawed.
Amelia bowed her head “I'm sorry I didn't know I had slept longer than usual” she apologised obediently. If she's going to live a soft life working at the pack house, apology must always be at the tip of her tongue.
“You should be sorry for your pathetic self” she grawled into Amelia's face and said “that's your uniform. Get into it and step out, you fool” and turned around, stamping out of the door.
She'd just hated for no reason. She's a new servant in the pack house and yet, expects her to know when she should be awake. Amelia changed her dress immediately and put on her uniform.
She found that the uniform was a bit tight for her, especially at her waist upwards. She has a thin body but her hips were curvy and it's a bit tight for her? She'd never worn such a dress all her life and it makes her uncomfortable.
But that was not the time to dwell on such minor issues. She got out and wandered around the magnificent pack house. She doesn't know where she should go and who's going to show her around?
She ended up stumbling into the Alpha's quarters and she recognised it immediately as the place she was brought to the previous day. She turned around abruptly to find her way out when she bumped into the Alpha.
Alpha Kasper was just returning from his morning routine of sword practice when Amelia suddenly bumped into him. His wolf jumped and growled within him in fury and he glared at her with a killing intent.
“How dare you come to the Alpha's quarters?” He thundered. What exactly does this woman want?
“I'm sorry your Highnesses, I missed my way…” Amelia was saying when he growled into her face “you are seeking attention now? You are parading yourself to be what you are not in the pack house?
Who the hell do you think you are to step your cursed feet into the Alpha's quarters? I will have your eyes plucked out when next you missed your way around here again, that is my promise to you and I swear by the throne of the cliffwood pack that I will do exactly that”
Amelia didn't wait another minute before she dashed out of his sight. Her eyes welled up with tears, will she lose her eyes one day?
The moon goddess forbids it. Will she then be referred to as Amelia the blind?
“You should ask questions you fool” a guard spat on her and pointed in a direction to follow. She hurried her steps and arrived at the kitchen section.
She saw other servants in the same uniform as hers and she sighed softly. But she saw them glared at her with resentment and eyed her. She swallowed hard and stood with her fingers intertwined below her stomach.
“You're just coming here after coming to wake you up. I see that you are lazy and don't want to do anything. Don't think yourself to be special here or superior to anyone as that will earn you a timely death” the woman who had come to wake her up earlier sneered.
“Envy, tell her she's the least of the servants here and will serve every servant in this pack house” another servant bellowed.
Oh, the woman's name is Envy.
So as it is, she's the servant of all servants.
What a position she'd earned.

I traded my innocence to my fated mate, the Alpha King, just to get a stalk of Moonlight Grass to save my dying brother.
But after a night of agonizing physical connection, he didn't mark me. Instead, he tossed me a single, useless dried leaf and a credit card, treating our sacred bond like a cheap transaction.
When I refused his insulting offer to be his secret, nameless mistress, he choked me against a wall and banished me from his lands forever. I fled to the human city, only to watch from the shadows a week later as he publicly escorted a pure-blood noble female, preparing to make her his Luna. Meanwhile, I was forced to sell herbs in the lawless black market just to survive, where I was cornered by a gang of violent rogues.
I didn't understand. We were chosen by the Moon Goddess. When our skin touched, the mating sparks nearly blinded us both. Why did he look at me with such cold disgust? Why did he throw me away like trash, only to parade another woman as his queen?
Running for my life from the rogues, I tripped and fell onto the asphalt, right at the feet of a convoy of black SUVs.
The man stepping out was the Alpha King who had sworn to kill me if he ever saw me again.
But as the rogues demanded I be handed over, his eyes darkened with a terrifying, primal fury.

I woke up from a coma in the hospital, universally condemned as the vicious daughter who pushed the beloved fake heiress, Georgina, down the stairs.
My ruthless billionaire brother, Angelo, stood over my bed with cold eyes, ready to destroy me for hurting his precious sister.
But as I looked at him, a terrifying prophecy from my coma flooded my brain. Our entire family was doomed.
In the original timeline, Georgina would team up with corporate rivals to bankrupt the company, frame Angelo, and send him to federal prison, while our parents would abandon me to die miserably.
Lying there, I didn't dare speak. I just desperately cursed my idiot brother in my head.
"This stupid brother is still yelling at me for that fake heiress. He doesn't even know he's going to be framed and sent to prison next month!"
I just wanted to stay quiet, let them ruin themselves, and run away from this toxic family.
But strangely, Angelo didn't strangle me. Instead, his attitude took a shocking turn.
He abruptly fired the driver plotting to kill him, destroyed the abusive fiancé of a family ally, and publicly humiliated Georgina at a high-society gala.
He even shielded me from our abusive parents, declaring to the world that I was the only sister he would ever protect.
I was completely terrified and confused. Why was the tyrant brother suddenly acting like a protective beast?
It wasn't until he flawlessly crushed a massive corporate attack using the exact financial secrets I had just complained about in my mind that a horrifying realization hit me.
He could hear my inner thoughts!

For five years, April Gamble loved Julian Travis with everything she had, trusting him completely.
But on a stormy night, he casually tossed a liquidation agreement at her feet, single-handedly destroying her grandfather's company.
He coldly admitted he only dated her to steal Vance Group's internal financial data.
"You were convenient," Julian said, swirling his whiskey without a shred of guilt.
Before April could even process the brutal betrayal, a breaking news alert lit up her phone.
She watched in absolute horror as her grandfather jumped from the ledge of the Vance Tower on live television.
Julian looked at her writhing, screaming form with utter boredom and simply ordered his bodyguard to throw her out.
Blinded by grief and tears, April sped into the torrential rain, only to be completely crushed by a hydroplaning transport truck at an intersection.
As the shattered glass tore into her skin and the metal crushed her ribs, she died with a hatred so pure it made her teeth ache.
Why did five years of devotion mean absolutely nothing to him? Why did her family have to die just to feed his ruthless greed?
When she opened her eyes again, the harsh hospital lights blinded her, but the familiar burn scar on her arm was gone.
She wasn't the betrayed financial analyst April Gamble anymore.
She had woken up in the body of Altagracia Blanchard, the most notorious, obscenely wealthy heiress in New York.
Julian had taken everything from her, but now, armed with a billionaire's empire, she was going to bury him.

Five years ago, Alisson Ford's adoptive family drugged her and offered her to a repulsive old investor to save their failing company.
She escaped the trap, only to accidentally stumble into the bed of Jake Yates, the most terrifying and powerful billionaire in the city.
Months later, while she was painfully giving birth to triplets in a freezing basement, her adoptive sister Bella tracked her down. Bella violently snatched Alisson's firstborn son to pass off as her own ticket into the Yates family. Then, Bella smiled as her men poured gasoline over the mattress and set the room on fire, leaving Alisson and her two remaining newborns to burn alive.
Shielding her fragile babies with her own blistering skin in the roaring inferno, Alisson's despair turned into absolute, blood-soaked hatred. She couldn't fathom how the family she had trusted for years could steal her flesh and blood and condemn her to such a horrific death.
Five years later, Alisson returns to the city as a powerful trauma specialist. She steps right into Jake and Bella's grand engagement banquet, watching coldly as her five-year-old daughter runs straight up to the untouchable billionaire and hugs his leg.
"You are a bad daddy! You abandoned Mommy and us, and now you are going to marry an ugly old witch!"

I thought my best friend Mila and my lover Preston were my only salvation from Essex Langley, the ruthless billionaire who kept me caged in his estate.
I trusted them blindly when they planned my grand escape.
But it was all a cruel setup.
Mila deliberately leaked the plan to Essex's guards to win his favor, and Preston only wanted my family's shares to pay off his massive debts.
When we were caught in the rose garden, Preston shoved me toward the guards and ran for his life.
"You're insane if you think I actually loved a freak like you!"
I was dragged back into the manor, my ribs cracking under heavy boots.
I bled out on the freezing marble floor, staring into Essex’s unhinged, mad eyes as I took my last agonizing breath.
Until the moment I died, I couldn't accept it.
I had ruined my own life, adopting a hideous punk look with fake tattoos and piercings just to make Essex hate me, all for two people who saw me as nothing but a sacrificial lamb.
Why was my blind rebellion rewarded with such a brutal betrayal?
Opening my eyes again, the white-hot pain was gone.
I was back in the freezing bedroom on my eighteenth birthday, the very night Mila would come to orchestrate my ruin.
I looked at the rebellious, smudged stranger in the mirror.
This time, I calmly washed off the black makeup, took out my lip ring, and put on a pristine white dress.
If fighting the devil got me killed, then in this life, I would tame him and make them all pay.

Aria Nightshade spent her entire life waiting for one thing: the moment her fated mate would claim her, making her Luna. But on the night of her bonding ceremony, Liam Draven rejects her in front of the entire pack-publicly, brutally, without hesitation. He chooses another woman. Leaves her shattered.
Humiliated beyond repair, Aria prepares to disappear into whatever's left of her dignity.
Then the Alpha King intervenes.
Kael Draven-feared, untouchable, a man who answers to no one-steps between them and claims her himself. Not out of mercy. Not out of love. For reasons he refuses to explain, he binds her to him with magic older than the packs themselves, then hauls her to his fortress and locks her in a tower.
Aria should be terrified.
Instead, she's angry. Defiant. And increasingly aware that the man holding her captive isn't quite what he seems.
Kael is cold, calculated, and obsessed with understanding what she is-a wolf who shouldn't have survived a bond rupture, who shouldn't be standing, who shouldn't exist. As he slowly reveals the truth about her past and her bloodline, Aria discovers that her rejection was never about her worth. It was about her power. The kind of power that could reshape the entire werewolf hierarchy.
But Liam can't accept his loss. Kael's protection becomes possession. And Aria's slow transformation from broken girl to something far more dangerous forces her to choose: remain the victim they all rejected, or rise as the Luna that will make them all bow.
Even if it means destroying everything-and everyone-she once cared about.
