Rejected By My Fated Alpha

By the third year of our mate bond, I was diagnosed with a rare werewolf disease that threatened to consume my life. Maverick, my Alpha and mate, didn’t hesitate to donate his healing essence to save me. Yet, less than an hour after the ceremony, he betrayed me. In the infirmary of the Blue Moon Pack, I activated the security link connected to our den, just as I had done countless times before. To my horror, I saw two figures entangled on the bed that was supposed to be ours. The other woman, Siena, a rogue werewolf, was as stunning as ever. She cupped Maverick’s face and asked if he’d mark her as his Luna. Maverick denied it, but when he saw her tears, he leaned in to kiss them away. In that moment, I knew—our bond had shattered. Right after the healing ritual, I mentioned feeling cold.

Rejected By My Fated Alpha Chapter 1

Maverick, ever attentive, told me there was a new ceremonial fur in the den, and he offered to bring it to me. Seeing his gentle expression, I thought I had chosen the right mate. Despite my diagnosis, Maverick had stayed by my side, even volunteering to share his essence with me. A perfect match, and the ritual had been completed that day.

But I never imagined that while fetching the fur, he would betray me. Through the security link, I initially wanted to mind-link him to suggest he take something for himself too, only to find him tangled with Siena on our bed. Above the headboard was the ceremonial marking photo we’d taken after he’d marked me as his Luna. During that moment, he had whispered how strong I was and vowed to face any challenge together. Yet now, he was pouring his energy into someone else.

As they neared the end, Siena spoke up suddenly. “Maverick, will you mark me as your Luna?” I watched Maverick’s face freeze, instinctively replying, “I have a mate.” Immediately after, Siena started crying, and Maverick, in a panic, lowered his head to kiss away her tears. At that moment, I felt utterly hollow. I tried to wipe my own tears but accidentally triggered the mind-link. The connection buzzed over and over, but Maverick kept consoling Siena in his arms.

Once Siena softly apologized, “I’m sorry, Alpha. I was too greedy,” he sighed, lifted her gently, and escorted her to the cleansing chamber before finally responding to my link. “What’s wrong, Luna? Are you feeling unwell?” His voice was still soft, but all I could envision was the stark image of him with another woman wrapped around him. Somehow, my legs gave way, and I collapsed onto the infirmary floor.

The Inter-Pack Summit's grand hall glowed with ceremonial torches, casting dramatic shadows across the faces of the most powerful Alphas in the region. I stood at the entrance, my silver aura radiating outward in controlled waves—not a display of emotion, but a calculated reminder of the Silvermoon Pack's strength under my leadership. Marcus positioned himself precisely one step behind me and to my right, his presence a silent comfort through our private mind-link. *They're all watching for weakness,* he observed, his thoughts flowing into mine with familiar ease. *Then they'll find none,* I replied, scanning the room with measured indifference. Alpha Kaelen Blackwood approached first, his dark eyes evaluating me with the same predatory calculation I recognized in myself. "Alpha Victoria," he greeted, inclining his head just slightly enough to acknowledge my status without suggesting submission. "Your champion has brought considerable attention to the Silvermoon territory." "As intended," I replied coolly, the subtle tap of my index finger against my thigh the only outward sign of my strategic assessment. Ryan Mitchell had indeed brought attention—attention I had meticulously orchestrated over five years of investment. The rogue I'd salvaged from starvation had been molded into a weapon that now represented Silvermoon dominance in combat.

I woke up with that familiar churning in my stomach, the third morning in a row. My inner wolf, Lily, stirred restlessly as I bolted to the bathroom, barely making it before emptying what little remained in my stomach from last night's dinner. '*This has to be it*,' I thought, pressing my palm against my still-flat abdomen. After three years as Ryan's Luna, the Moon Goddess had finally blessed us. I splashed cold water on my face and brushed my teeth, studying my reflection. My skin glowed despite the nausea, and my wolf seemed unusually protective, urging me to rest more, eat better. All the signs were there. "We need to be sure before we tell him," I whispered to Lily, who hummed in agreement. I padded back to our bedroom, noticing Ryan had left his laptop open on his desk. He'd rushed out before dawn for an emergency meeting with neighboring packs—at least that's what he'd said.

The Plaza Hotel's bridal suite was bathed in soft morning light as I stood before the ornate mirror. My reflection stared back at me—eyes bright with anticipation, cheeks flushed with excitement. Today was supposed to be the beginning of forever. "You look beautiful," my makeup artist had whispered just moments ago. "Caspian won't know what hit him." I smiled, touching the delicate lace of my custom Vera Wang gown. Ten years of love, of building a life together, all culminating in this perfect day. My fingers trembled slightly as I adjusted my veil. "I'm just nervous," I whispered to my reflection, trying to calm the flutter in my stomach. The lights above me flickered once, twice. I frowned, glancing upward.
