Chapter 2

Lily looked extremely impatient.

“Hunter, I’m only asking you to sign because you’re my husband! Otherwise, I have my ways of getting this procedure approved!”

I clenched my fist and glared intently at Lily.

“Why are you forcing me to sign this agreement? Is Jared desperate to sell those organs for money?”

After Lily took the available heart away, I asked my friend to look into Jared’s mother’s medical records.

It was confirmed that his mother did not need a heart transplant.

Claiming that his mother needed a heart was a complete lie!

However, Lily believed everything Jared said. If not, Maryam would not have ended up dead!

Then, where was the heart that Lily took?

I really suspected that Jared had taken the heart to the black market.

Lily slapped me.

“Hunter, stop accusing him! Why would Jared do such a thing? There was only one available heart. We’re saving a life, regardless of whose life it was! How can you accuse him of this? You’re vicious! Apologize to him!”

Jared suddenly exclaimed, “Ah, sorry, I slipped.”

He poured a huge cup of boiling water onto the deceased’s head.

When I looked over, Jared laughed viciously.

“I might get another case of butterfingers if Hunter’s unwilling to sign the organ donation agreement. Dr. Smith, it’s better to get the family member to sign the agreement. We can’t have anything tainting your career.”

I was burning with rage. Jared did that on purpose!

He claimed that he would not want Lily’s career to be tainted. However, she had already broken many rules for him.

As I had reminded Lily of that several times, Jared likely hated me.

Lily actually looked touched.

“Jared, you care too much about me. You’re the opposite of Hunter. He only knows how to throw tantrums!”

She poured a cup of boiling water and held it above the corpse. Then, she asked viciously, “So are you going to sign the agreement?

“Don’t you realize that if you drag this out, your mother wouldn’t be able to rest in peace?”

It was her mother who would not rest in peace!

I was so angry that I immediately called the hospital’s hotline. I wanted to report Lily and Jared for intending to harvest the organs illegally.

Lily realized what I wanted to do, so she splashed the hot water at me.

Jared also snatched my phone and threw it on the floor.

Lily shrieked, “Initially, I still wanted to show some respect toward your mother! Now, forget about it!”

She called over the security guards and claimed that I was being violent toward hospital workers, so they escorted me out of the hospital.

Then, she brought the corpse away with Jared.

I spent some time freeing myself from the security guards’ custody. Then, I ran over to the operating room where they were removing the organs.

In just a short time, they had already cut Maryam’s body open.

She also had a wound on her head because of the hot water Jared had poured over her.

They had cut Maryam’s limbs and tossed them away.

They were treating Maryam’s dead body like it was a farm animal.

Jared was kissing Lily as he pressed her against a wall.

“Dr. Smith, isn’t it bad for us to do this before a dead body?”

Lily moaned and answered, “If she didn’t die this quickly, I would do this in front of her! She humiliated me. It’s only fair for me to cheat on her son before her.”

I was enraged. I rushed forward and separated them.

“Lily, how dare you?”

I did not expect to find out that she hated my mother that much.

Lily did not look guilty at all, even though I had caught her cheating on me. She only looked unhappy that I interrupted her.

She pushed Jared away and straightened her clothes.

“Seeing you makes me annoyed. So, I can only satisfy my desires in the company of someone else.”

Jared kissed Lily’s cheek tauntingly.

“Hunter, you didn’t cherish such a good wife. I’m not in the wrong for comforting her.”

Then, he pointed at the dismembered body.

“By the way, Hunter, in order to make the organ removal process easier, I have dismembered the body. I’m sure you understand, don’t you?”

I gazed at their smug faces, then landed a punch on Jared.

Then, I looked at Lily and said without any hesitation, “Let’s get a divorce!”
