Chapter 2

I stared blankly at the papers in my hands, the words 'Divorce Petition' screaming at me like a cruel taunt.

"Yes, they are Divorce papers. If you look below, you'll see my signature boldly, I want to see your signature as well within 24 hours!" Lysander added, his voice as cold as usual, and his hands stocked to his pocket.

"Upon signing the papers, further communication should be made to my lawyer. The alimony has been prepared and you'll get everything you've always dreamt of..."

He stood confidently like he had just given me some medical prescription; No reason for this divorce, nothing at all.

What seemed like hell was I couldn't even ask him why he gave me these papers. The reason is that in this marriage, I'm not allowed to say anything or ask any questions. All decisions are made by Lysander and I only obey them.

"I'll be on my way...."

Lysander said, attempting to walk away when I raised my glance from the ground and uttered immediately "Why did you do this, Lysander? Why the divorce?".

Lysander stopped immediately and started walking close to me. His expression deepened in amazement as he continued walking closer.

"You of all the people should know why this marriage came to an end..." He halted for a while and grabbed my chin. His voice summoning all the rudeness, he continued "You tricked my Grandma to get you as my wife. You convinced her that you were good enough knowing very well that I'd do everything for her happiness..."

"Do you expect me to be in a marriage with someone I don't even love, someone I barely knew, and a person who can't bear me a child?"

Lysander confessed, his voice persistent in rage.

"But you know very well that I accepted the insemination when you were in a coma which was the only reason I agreed to marry you..." I commented, keeping my voice as obedient as ever, but Lysander cut me off

"And you know very well that I never loved you! You know too well that the only reason I bought you wedding gifts during our previous anniversaries was to put a smile on Grandma's face. You also know that your stupid insemination made you infertile which is the only reason you can't bear children?"

"What if I told you I'm pregnant with your child, would that still change anything in our marriage?" I inquired immediately after him, my heart skipping non-stop.

Lysander's expression suddenly changed, and for a moment, I saw a glimpse of hope in his eyes but he instantly wore back his furious face.

He grabbed my chin forcefully, my breath persistently decreasing.

"How can you be pregnant with my child? I only touched you once for the first time in three years, so how can that get you pregnant?" Lysander yelled, not minding how hurtful I felt.

"I'm... in pain, Lysander!" I stammered, my voice cracking slowly but he didn't let me go.

"Answer my question, Ivy. Are you pregnant?" He added.

I don't even know how to answer this question. Should I tell him the truth? Or should I make some excuse? If I tell him the truth, he may see me as a cheat as he believes he never touched me but at the same time, if I lie to him, I'd be betraying Old Mrs Sylvie.

"Won't you speak up?" Lysander's voice echoed, jolting me out of my thoughts.

"No, Lysander! I'm not pregnant. And yes, we did it once because you were drunk but it Never resulted in a baby!" I forced a response, my eyes swinging around the room to avoid eye contact with Lysander.

I don't know why I chose to lie, but I abandoned a lot of luxury just to be with Lysander. If I was able to endure the pain of being the cast-off wife, I don't think I'd be able to see my child grow up in a BROKEN home.

Alas, my eyes hit Lysander's, but I saw no atom of care in him as he seemed to have believed whatever I said to him.

He left my chin, enhancing my breath as I deep sighed, searching for oxygen.

"Like I said, the alimony is prepared so as your belongings. Submit the papers to my lawyers and return for your clothes, Excuse me!"

I watched Lysander walk out from the lounge I decorated for us. Tears started gathering in my eyes as I watched the man I love leave me on our third Wedding Anniversary with Divorce papers.

As I stared at the papers, the memories of the best night of my life flashed on my head. How Lysander kissed me, made love to me and even told me that he LOVES me for the first time!

I wished he wasn't drunk when he said these but sadly, he was intoxicated which was the reason he even touched me and demanded my permission before he F*CKS me!

That was the first time he was ever sweet but it only lasted for a night and the next morning, he warned me that whatever happened last night ended there, as nothing had changed between us.

As I remembered these memories, I grabbed my pen and signed the divorce papers. It was very difficult signing the papers, but since Lysander wanted this, I'll gladly do it. After all, he makes the decisions and I obey them.

*******

As soon as I got out of the lounge, I grabbed my phone, intending to call the only wheel I had left in my life. Cameil, her name is Cameil and she has been my best friend for ten years now.

"Babe, Lysander ended our marriage and I need someone to crawl into, can I come over? I will be explaining when I get there"

I texted her, before stopping a cab. Ten minutes later, no response from her. It's unlike her because she always responds to my texts timely and it's late already, she ought to be at home.

But no way, she is not in her house! Where could she be?

*********

12:40 PM {The Next Day}

I already made my way to the Steel's mansion to pack my luggage. Cameil viewed my text last night but didn't respond. I am worried but before anything else, I should pack my things from Lysander's house

I pressed the bell and someone opened the door.

"Good morning, Ma" Jakub greeted.

I grinned at him, "Lysander?"

"He's inside..." Jakub responded, a strange expression on his face as if he wanted to tell me something. I just took it as a part of his concern and headed inside

Approaching the door to the main lounge, I overheard some sounds. That's not an ordinary sound, someone was moaning. "I love it, Oh.. Fuck! Ride on me, yes yes yessss!"

It was becoming louder, so I listened carefully and observed Lysander's thick voice echoing "Oh shit!"

Could it be what I am thinking?

I opened the door angrily and Lysander jumped up from her body. I dropped my handbag after seeing the face of the woman he was making love to!

That was Cameil there enjoy my husband's dick!
