My Ex Ran Away, But My New Groom is a CEO Chapter 1

The night before the wedding.

My groom ran off with someone else.

The delivery guy in the back stage watched the whole thing unfold.

I glared at him, my voice sharp. "What are you looking at? You wanna marry me or what?!"

He slapped his bank card on the table. "I do!"

Later, my groom was replaced.

I stood before the man, his features chiseled, his jawline sharp, and even in his delivery uniform, he looked stunning.

Is this what delivery guys are like now?

He stared back at me, his deep eyes holding a hint of challenge.

I gritted my teeth. "Fine, I'll marry you. Who's afraid of who!"

"Evelyn Reed!"

"Julian Frost!"

A handshake sealed the deal. You marry me, I marry you.

As the wedding march began to play, Julian changed into a well-tailored suit that made his posture even more commanding.

Holding my hand, he walked me down the aisle, stepping up onto the stage.

My parents' faces turned pale, their shock palpable. Whispers filled the room.

"The groom looks so much better in person than in the photos!"

"Yeah, he looks like a movie star!"

The officiant spoke into the microphone. "Bride, do you take this man?"

I couldn't help but smile a little. With a face like that, I wasn’t exactly losing out.

"I do!"

"And groom, do you take this woman?"

"Will you stand by her, whether she's wealthy or poor, whether she's healthy or sick, and love her forever?"

"Yes, I do!" His voice was deep and magnetic, his expression serious and sincere.

As I stared into his intense gaze, I almost believed we were long-lost lovers.

Please let me not be blind this time.

After the ceremony, I looked up at Julian. "How about we head to my place first?"

He paused, confused. "Aren't we married now?"

"So?"

"Let's go to my place."

I stopped in my tracks, my eyes narrowing in suspicion, then grabbed his sleeve. "Don’t you still have deliveries to make?"

Such dedication, still delivering food right after the wedding.

"You don’t have to work so hard," I said, patting my chest. "I can support you for now."

Julian placed a hand on his forehead, then smirked. "This is our home."

I blinked, confused, following Julian inside.

"Young Master’s home," the butler, Higgins, glanced at the wedding car parked at the door and then at our outfits.

"Mr. Higgins, I just got married. She’s my wife." Julian pulled me closer, ruffling my hair.

"Congratulations, Young Master. I’ll inform the Madame right away!" Without missing a beat, he hurried to make the call.

We’d been inside for almost ten minutes, and I was still in a daze.

"So, why were you delivering food?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.

Julian slowly spoke. "Food delivery is my side job."

He casually wrapped his arms around me. "Honey, I’ll work hard to make money from now on."

I glanced at Julian, sitting beside me, his smug smile giving me a headache.

My heart raced, unable to make sense of it. Was I really lucky enough to get such a gem?

Our wedding night, and I was shaking with excitement.

I slammed the door shut, pinning him against it, throwing him a flirtatious glance. "Honey, tonight you're mine."

Julian coughed awkwardly, his face turning crimson. How cute!

I lifted my head and gently nipped at his lips. He cupped my face, responding to me gently.

My heart was racing, and without thinking, I reached for Julian’s abs. So tempting!

But then, I froze, staring at his perfectly sculpted collarbones, his enticing abs, and those long, gorgeous legs.

I pushed him away, and Julian looked at me with half-lidded eyes, his voice husky. "Honey, what’s wrong?"

"I got my period!" I sulked.

Julian gently rubbed my head, a look of understanding on his face. "Honey, we have plenty of time."

So close, yet so far!

Ugh!

Our wedding night felt so incredibly long!

The next morning, my family group chat exploded.

All because my scheming cousin sent a message.

"Evelyn, sorry, I heard Marcus dumped you!"

"But I heard you just randomly married a delivery guy. Is that true?"

The message hit like a bomb, and the relatives went wild.

"What? The groom changed?!"

"The groom's a delivery guy?"

"No wonder he looks different from the photos."

"Evelyn, you really are clueless!"

"Seriously? Marcus makes millions a year, a corporate executive! And you married a delivery guy? How embarrassing!" My cousin Vanessa continued to dig in.

I stared at the flurry of messages, clenching my fists.

Julian noticed my change in mood and raised an eyebrow. "Honey, what’s wrong?"

I blurted out, "Honey, should we go beat some dogs?"

"Rude mutts!"

Julian smirked. "Alright!"
