A single night with her powerful CEO changes Olivia Carter's life forever.
What begins as a reckless mistake turns into an unexpected pregnancy-and a shocking proposal. Instead of walking away, billionaire CEO Alexander Kane offers Olivia a contract, one designed to protect his empire and secure an heir.
As boundaries blur and emotions deepen, Olivia must survive office politics, public scrutiny, and a man who controls everything except his heart.
In a world where love is negotiated on paper, can a contract lead to something real or will it cost them everything?
My Boss's Baby Contract Chapter 1
The office floor was almost empty, the kind of quiet that only came after nine at night. Most of the lights were off, but Olivia Carter's desk remained illuminated, a small island of brightness in a sea of shadows.
She stared at the spreadsheet on her screen, blinking hard as her eyes burned. Numbers swam together, but she forced herself to focus. This report mattered. The board meeting was in less than twelve hours, and if anything went wrong, the blame would fall on her.
As usual.
Olivia straightened her posture and continued typing, fingers moving quickly over the keyboard. She had learned early that hard work was her safest armor. No family name. No powerful connections. Just discipline, competence, and silence.
A soft knock broke the stillness.
Her shoulders stiffened.
No one knocked this late unless
"Ms. Carter."
That voice.
Olivia stood immediately, heart jumping. "Mr. Kane."
Alexander Kane stepped fully into her workspace, tall and impeccably dressed despite the late hour. His dark suit jacket was still perfectly pressed, tie loosened just enough to suggest control rather than fatigue. The CEO of Kane Enterprises never looked anything less than composed.
Except his eyes.
They flicked briefly to the clock on the wall, then back to her. "You're still here."
"Yes," Olivia replied. "The revised projections weren't aligning with the Q4 forecast, so I-"
"I know," he interrupted calmly. "That's why I stayed too."
That surprised her.
Alexander rarely stayed past eight. He valued efficiency, expected the same from everyone else, and never lingered without reason.
He moved closer, stopping beside her desk. The faint scent of his cologne-clean, subtle, expensive-made her inhale without meaning to. She quickly stepped back, clasping her hands together.
"I've completed most of it," she continued, professional tone firmly in place. "I just need to double-check the overseas numbers."
"Show me."
She hesitated for half a second, then turned the screen toward him. Alexander leaned in, his arm resting lightly on the desk. The proximity made her uncomfortably aware of him-his height, his warmth, the quiet authority he carried without effort.
They reviewed the data in silence.
"You caught an error here," he said after a moment, pointing. "If this had gone to the board, it would've raised questions."
Olivia nodded. "That's why I stayed."
His gaze shifted to her face. "You always do."
The comment wasn't sharp. It wasn't praise either. Just an observation. Somehow, that made it heavier.
"I take my job seriously," she said.
"I've noticed."
Another pause settled between them. Not awkward-just... charged.
Alexander straightened, rolling his shoulders slightly. "You should go home once you're done. You've been here since early morning."
"I will," Olivia replied, even though she knew she wouldn't leave until the report was flawless.
He studied her again, longer this time. The silence stretched.
Then, unexpectedly, he asked, "Why do you push yourself this hard?"
The question caught her off guard.
She blinked. "Excuse me?"
"You don't miss deadlines. You don't make excuses. You never complain." His voice was calm, but intent. "People don't do that without a reason."
Olivia swallowed. Personal questions from Alexander Kane were rare-and dangerous.
"I like being good at what I do," she said carefully.
A faint smile touched his lips. It disappeared just as quickly.
"I'll review the final version before you send it," he said. "Email me when it's ready."
"Yes, sir."
He turned to leave, then stopped at the edge of her desk.
"And Olivia?"
She looked up.
"Don't make a habit of staying alone this late."
Her pulse jumped. "I-of course."
Alexander nodded once and walked away, his footsteps echoing down the corridor until they faded completely.
Only then did Olivia exhale.
She sank back into her chair, rubbing her palms against her skirt. That had been... different. She had worked for him for over a year, but something about tonight felt off-balance, like a line had shifted without permission.
She shook the thought away and returned to her work.
An hour later, she sent the final report.
She gathered her things, exhaustion finally settling into her bones. As she reached the elevator, she realized with surprise that it hadn't come down yet.
The doors slid open.
Alexander stood inside.
"Oh," Olivia said softly. "I didn't realize-"
"I was heading down," he replied. "You're finished?"
"Yes."
She stepped in, keeping a careful distance. The doors closed, sealing them into a quiet space filled only with the soft hum of movement.
The elevator descended slowly.
Neither spoke.
Halfway down, the lights flickered.
Then the elevator jolted.
Olivia gasped, instinctively reaching for the wall as the car came to an abrupt stop. The lights steadied, but the silence afterward was thick.
Alexander pressed the emergency button immediately. Nothing happened.
He frowned, pressing it again. Still nothing.
"The building loses power sometimes," he said calmly. "Backup should kick in."
Seconds passed.
Then minutes.
The air felt warmer.
Olivia swallowed, forcing herself to stay calm. "It's fine. It's just... inconvenient."
Alexander glanced at her. "Are you claustrophobic?"
"No," she said quickly. "Just surprised."
The emergency lights dimmed slightly, casting the space in a softer glow. Shadows danced across his face, making him look less like the untouchable CEO and more like a man.
A dangerously attractive man.
"Looks like we'll be here a while," he said.
Olivia nodded, shifting her weight. Her shoulder brushed his arm.
The contact was brief.
But neither moved away immediately.
Something electric passed between them-unspoken, undeniable.
Alexander looked down at her.
And for the first time since she'd known him, his expression wasn't controlled.
It was curious.
Intense.
And unmistakably aware.

Ina Holman, heiress to a failing real estate empire, was forced to attend a high-stakes matchmaking meeting to secure a financial lifeline for her family.
But the drink she was handed was secretly spiked. Desperate to avoid a public scandal that would ruin her father, she fled into a VIP elevator, only to fall directly into the arms of Buren Warner—the most ruthless billionaire predator on Wall Street.
After a blurred, chaotic night, the nightmare truly began.
A fabricated scandal of her hotel rendezvous hit the front pages. Her father slapped her across the face, using the disgrace as an excuse to freeze her accounts and kick her out onto the streets, legally severing her from the family trust before declaring bankruptcy.
Even worse, her twin sister was killed in a sudden estate explosion.
And the final, crushing blow? Ina discovered that her ex-boyfriend, Faron, the man supposed to save her family, was secretly gay. He and her best friend had orchestrated the drugging to destroy Ina's reputation, allowing Faron to break their alliance and keep his inheritance without suspicion.
Stripped of her home, her family, and her dignity, Ina screamed in agony on the freezing streets.
Her own father had murdered her sister for a fifty-million-dollar insurance payout and sacrificed Ina to hide his assets. The people she trusted most had conspired to ruin her life just for their own selfish greed.
Driven into a corner with absolutely nothing left to lose, Ina stared at the cold, calculating billionaire who had tracked her down to an abandoned cliffside estate.
"Marry me, and I will give you the power to destroy them all."

Isolde Mitchell knew her wealthy husband was cheating on her, but the true nightmare began when her mother-in-law summoned her.
The older woman coldly announced that the mistress was pregnant with a boy and would be moving into their estate.
Because Isolde's family had gone bankrupt and she had only given birth to a frail daughter, she was deemed completely worthless.
When Isolde packed her bags and demanded a divorce, her husband Clark just laughed.
He threatened to use their ironclad prenup to leave her penniless and take full custody of her daughter just to torture her.
To make matters worse, he forced Isolde to secure a failing business deal with the ruthless billionaire Jacques Valdez, essentially ordering her to sell her body to get the signature.
"If you fail, you will never see Bria again."
He even sent his goons to snatch the little girl from her preschool to prove his point.
Isolde was completely cornered, trembling with a mix of rage and absolute despair.
How could the man she married be such a monster? She would rather die than let them destroy her daughter, but how could a bankrupt mother fight a powerful dynasty with absolutely nothing?
Out of options, she looked at the private business card the terrifying billionaire Jacques had unexpectedly given her daughter.
Swallowing her pride, she decided to make a deal with the devil himself, ready to use his power to tear her husband's family apart.

On the morning of our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, I found a cream-colored document tucked inside my husband's suit pocket.
It was a twenty-million-dollar asset transfer for his former receptionist, Carmen. But what made my blood run cold was the contingent beneficiary: Leo, my newborn son who the hospital claimed was kidnapped twenty-three years ago.
When I confronted Devonte, he didn't even try to explain. He handed me a fake Cartier watch, canceled all my credit cards, and publicly called me delusional.
The next day, he moved Carmen into our mansion and emptied all our joint accounts into offshore trusts.
"If you don't sign these papers and walk away, I will have you committed," he threatened, his mother nodding in agreement.
They had orchestrated the kidnapping of my baby, hiding him with the mistress while I spent half my life sedated and screaming in grief. Now, to keep his secret, Devonte was going to lock me in a psychiatric ward and bury me in debt.
I didn't understand how the man I loved could be such a monster. Why did he steal my child? What else was hidden in that confidential adoption file?
Pushed to the absolute brink, I refused to be his victim.
When his goons came to my temporary apartment to drag me away, I turned to the rugged union electrician who had just fixed my lights.
"If you need a husband to keep you out of a psych ward, I'll marry you," he said, offering himself as my legal shield.
I took his hand. It was time to tear my husband's perfect life apart.
