Married to my Father’s Enemy Chapter 1

“Aria, hurry up, you’re about to be late!” someone shouted, and I flinched, grabbing my dress tighter as my heart started racing.

I rushed to the mirror, adjusting my veil. My hands were shaking, and my breathing was really uneven as I heard footsteps and voices moving quickly outside the room. I’m getting married to the love of my life… and everything is happening too fast.

“Where is Daniel?” I muttered, standing inside the bridal room as my eyes scanned around like he would suddenly walk in. No text. No calls. Nothing. Just silence. He was supposed to be here by now he promised. I checked my phone again. Still nothing.

“Maybe he’s just busy,” I whispered as I stepped out into the hallway, carefully lifting my dress so I wouldn’t trip. I had barely taken a few steps when someone almost bumped into me.

“Aria! There you are,” she said, grabbing my arm. “Where are you going? The makeup artist is looking for you.”

“I just needed a moment,” I replied quickly.

“Alright, but don’t go too far,” she said, letting go and walking off.

I turned and continued down the hallway.

“What… is that sound?” I thought to myself I stopped abruptly, my head snapping toward a nearby room. A faint noise came through the door very soft, familiar. A woman’s voice. A laugh I recognized instantly.

My grip on my dress tightened as I stared at the door. Something wasn’t right.

I hesitated for a second, then slowly reached for the door, my hand trembling as I pushed it open just to see what was going on inside and the moment I saw inside… everything stopped.

Daniel was there.

And Bella… my sister… was with him more like on top of him. My grip on the door tightened as my eyes stayed locked on them, unable to look away. Daniel didn’t pull back. Bella didn’t move either. They both just turned slightly, like my presence was the last thing they expected but not enough to surprise them.

“Bella…?” My voice came out low, almost broken, as I stepped further into the room without realizing it.

Bella’s lips curved into a slow smile, her eyes meeting mine like she had been waiting for this moment. “Oh… you’re here.”

Daniel finally looked at me, but there was no panic in his face just a calm, distant expression like nothing unusual was happening.

“Aria…” he said, my name sounding flat in his mouth, like I was just another person in the room.

I took another step forward, my voice rising slightly. “What is going on here?”

Bella let out a small laugh, crossing her arms as she leaned closer to Daniel, completely at ease. “You really didn’t know?”

“Really didn’t know what? Uh? That you have been screwing my fiancé? And you even had the audacity to do it on my wedding day?” i snapped, my voice shaking as I stepped closer to them.

Bella didn’t react the way I expected. She didn’t look guilty. She didn’t even look bothered.

She just smiled.

Daniel let out a small sigh beside her, rubbing the back of his neck like I was the one making things complicated.

“Aria…” he said quietly, his tone calm, almost tired. “It’s not what you think.”

“And you, you decided to have an affair with my sister? Of all people? You son of a bitch how could you do this to me? What did I ever do deserve this?” I yelled, my voice cracking as the words spilled out of me.

Daniel didn’t even flinch.

He looked at me for a moment, then exhaled slowly, like he was already tired of the conversation.

“Lower your voice,” he said calmly, his tone controlled, almost cold. “You’re making a scene.”

Oh, I’m making a scene now, huh? I can’t believe this!” I snapped, stepping forward before I could think. My hand shot out, grabbing Bella by the hair as I pulled her off the bed.

“Aria—stop!” Daniel’s voice rose sharply this time as he moved toward us.

Bella gasped, stumbling as she tried to free herself from my grip, her hands grabbing at my wrist. “Let go of me!” she shouted, her voice now breaking the calm she had before.

“Let go of her, Aria!” Daniel grabbed my arm and pulled me back, his grip firm as he forced space between us.

“Don’t touch me! After everything, you still want to protect her?”

Bella quickly stepped back, fixing her hair, her eyes now sharp instead of amused. “You’re embarrassing yourself,” she said, her tone colder this time.

Daniel stepped in front of Bella, placing himself between us as if shielding her from me.

“Aria, calm down,” he said, his voice steady, controlled. “This isn’t helping anyone.”

I let out a short, bitter laugh, shaking my head as I looked between both of them. “Calm down? You want me to calm down after seeing this?”

Bella crossed her arms again, her expression unreadable now. “You really walked in here without thinking, didn’t you?”

“Think?” I laughed bitterly, my eyes darting between them. “What exactly was I supposed to think when I walked in and found you both together like this?”

Daniel exhaled, his jaw tightening slightly as he finally looked me straight in the eye. “Aria… you need to listen.”

“Listen to what?” I shot back immediately. “More lies?”

Bella tilted her head, watching us like this was something she had already rehearsed. Then she stepped forward again, her voice calm, almost satisfied.

“Daniel… tell her.”

Daniel stayed quiet for a second, his gaze shifting between me and Bella before he finally spoke.

“I was going to tell you after the wedding,” he said, his voice low and controlled.

I blinked, staring at him like I didn’t hear him right. “After the wedding…?” I repeated slowly.
