Chapter 1

Round after round of sharp discussion—that's all his father does with him until Angelo almost goes crazy. With

With a strong fist he wipes his black hair, and with the other he hits hard on the table in front of him that shakes glasses and plates and shoots rust all over the restaurant.

In a loud and dangerous voice, Angelo responded to his father...

"I said enough!"

The strong tone of his voice made the old man and a number of those sitting around them at the dining tables change the way they were sitting uncomfortably in their chairs!

Angelo lowered his voice to a rough whisper and approached his father and spoke in a confident voice, a fire of anger burning in his eyes.

“It is impossible for me to marry the daughter of that idiot, Giorgio, damn it. If I do that, we will be exposed to all the troubles this idiot has been in, and they will come to eat our meat like game all over the state. He did it for his men and his family!!"

“But business requires it, my son.”

replied his father, Antonio, in an angry tone, because of Angelo’s disrespect for him.

“You will receive all his possessions, vast lands, and the loyalty of all his men, in exchange for his daughter marrying and protecting her.

In a sharp voice, Angelo replied to his father.

"Who cares what happens? I don't want him!"

With his big brown eyes and dark eyes, Angelo didn't give the old man a chance to argue with him again.

"I'm rich, and my business brings us great fortune. I won't need the likes of Giorgio."

His father replied to him...

"You know how things go, Angelo!

Money makes you laws, paves the way for you, and brings you allies and loyalty, and you currently need this because you will not reach the top without conceding and accepting Giorgio's offer to marry and protect his daughter."

Angelo leaned back in his chair, took a deep breath, and closed his eyes, angry at his father because all he's been talking about lately is about this girl!

"What is the story of this girl, and why all this attention to her?!

How do you want me to allow a strange woman I have not met in my life to enter our family?

And how do you expect me to give her my trust and trust her as a wife when I know that a despicable person like Giorgio is her father and raised her?!""

His father replied...

Because you chose not to meet her, how do you know she won't like you when you refuse to meet her and you didn't make any effort to do that? Who knows, you might like it when you meet her!

"Rafal, I ask my father to speak his mind because I will lose my patience in a few seconds!"

Angelo needs Rafal for such situations, specifically in cases where he almost loses his nerve and mind. Why not? He is his right-hand man, and one of his most important men is his first secretary, and certainly he is the only one he trusts...

The story continues below.

But Rafal did not calm the atmosphere between them as Angelo expected him to do; he took a deep breath and grumbled and adjusted his clothes, his jacket, and his tie, hoping that he could ignore these two and their sharp rivalry that disturbed him...

"You two know very well my opinion on the matter, especially since I am a person in his life who has never tried his chances of getting married."

Rafal took his cup of coffee and drank from it and spoke in a calm tone...

Both Angelo and Antonio

stare at Raval in silence... Angelo took off the napkin and threw it on the table angrily and stood up to leave...

"Raval, if you have nothing else useful to say, let's go and eat in Kipisconi when we get there."

Antonio furrowed his eyebrows until the wrinkles of his forehead appeared and closed his mouth, biting hard against his teeth, exasperated by his son Angelo.

"Well, Angelo, ignore my desires and don't give them any respect. Is that what you were raised to grow up like this?!"

Angelo raised his head and took a deep breath.

Angelo quickly left the table and gestured with his chin to Raval to follow him. He exited the restaurant door and waited for Raval outside to catch up with him.

"Since when did my father start thinking about this damned topic with Giorgio and my marriage to his daughter?!"

He knows the answer, but he asks, surprised by his father's strange insistence, and continues walking with fast steps to the parking lot...

"Well, you can meet her if that pleases your father."

In a tone of sarcasm and contempt, "Yes, well!! Even if I do, they will still insist on me completing the matter and marrying her, and I will not do that."

"How old are you this year, Anglo?!"

He answered Rafal's question while he gasped.

"29 years old."

"Well, marry her. What prevents the matter from conflicting, as if there is someone else on your mind!"

"I have another woman on my mind, but my mom hates Jenna!"

Angelo rolled his eyes sarcastically.

"You may be right, but at least I guarantee her loyalty."

"Yes, she was loyal to you, but for the wrong reasons. Just marry Giorgio's daughter. At least she is the daughter of the owner of the largest mafia gang, like us, and she will satisfy your tastes, as I told you before. You are no longer young. Do you want to reach the age of forty, and you haven't had your first child yet?!"

Angelo rolled his eyes, mocking Rafal's words, got into the black Escalade in the back seat, and shut the door forcefully.

"Why do you care who I marry?! And have my children when?!

Rafal, shut your mouth. I've had enough of this for today!"

Angelo hits the shoulder of the man with short blond hair who is sitting in front of him in the driver's seat...

"Bart, we're going to Kipiscone; get us out of here now."

Bart looked at Angelo and Raphael in the mirror with a smile and drove off without asking questions.
