Chapter 4

You Are Nothing

Trey roared and pushed Kailyn aside, running toward the middle of the road.

"Mr. McKee, there is a crazy woman in front!"

Bryce Donaldson, who was driving, was startled by Kristen, who suddenly came into his sight.

In the back seat, a man with his legs crossed and a black suit was resting with his eyes closed. Hearing Bryce's words, he opened his eyes slightly and glanced at her coldly. His profile was hard.

"What are you waiting for instead of stepping on the brakes? You want my opinion?"

Bang!

The car stopped.

The man almost bumped into the passenger seat. He frowned unhappily.

Bryce felt innocent.

He thought, you asked me to brake.

"Where is she?"

The man asked coldly.

"I didn't hit her. It was a few inches away."

Bryce glanced at the rearview and sighed with relief.

He was glad that he was good at driving. Others might not be able to react.

Kristen was startled by the sudden appearance of the car. She blacked out, hit the car, and fell.

Bryce was stunned.

"Mr. McKee, I didn't hit her. Believe me! It was a scam!"

The man said nothing and looked on coldly.

Then Trey came out and picked up the unconscious Kristen.

"Trey?

"Kristen Stafford, the daughter-in-law of the Barrett family," the man sneered coldly.

"Let's go."

The man's car left quickly.

Trey turned to look at the car. The plate looked familiar.

He was stunned for a moment. Then he came back to his senses and looked down at the woman who had fainted. Her hair was messy, her body was wet, and her hands had wounds.

In all the years he had known her, it was the first time he had ever seen her so embarrassed.

And the scene of her fighting with Kailyn shocked him even more.

Kristen always struck him as a well-behaved bunny. She was quiet and meek, and she didn't even dare to speak loudly in front of him. Yet today, she was like a shrew.

Was that the Kristen he knew?

"Trey, I thought we were going to dinner.

"She didn't get hit. She must be pretending to be unconscious. Don't be fooled by her. She's a vixen.

"She looks innocent, but I'm sure she is very scheming."

Kailyn finally got a chance to date Trey, and she was unwilling to let go of the opportunity. She rushed over anxiously and pinched Kristen hard.

She thought that Kristen was putting on an act and secretly pinched Kristen hard.

"Piss off!"

Trey was very annoyed. He had no time to deal with Kailyn.

His assistant had already driven up.

Trey picked up Kristen and got in the car.

Looking at the car that sped away, Kailyn stomped her foot angrily and cursed, "Kristen, you bitch! You ruined everything! How scheming! You tried to win him back by acting like you were going to leave him!

"You are just the daughter of a driver, yet you won't step down! You just want to be Trey's wife! You're so disgusting."

By the time Kristen woke up, it was already eleven o'clock in the evening.

She was awakened by the frantic vibrating sound of her phone.

She opened her eyes in a daze, took the phone, and saw messages from her teacher, the class chat group, and her friends. The word "plagiarism" overwhelmed her.

Her teacher was extremely disappointed in her, saying that he would no longer take her as his student and asking her to find another teacher.

Someone in the class chat group took the lead to text, which was echoed by many: "The plagiarist should get lost! Out of New York University! Out of our class!"

The word "plagiarism" was like a sharp blade, stabbing her heart hard.

She used to be the teacher's most proud student, but now she was accused by everyone as a plagiarist.

Kristen slowly closed her eyes and cried.

No one knew how desperate she was right now.

She thought, I will divorce Trey. I'm tired.

I will no longer be a fool.

I don't owe the Barrett family or Trey.

Kristen took a deep breath and got out of bed. She found a pen and paper to write the divorce papers.

Her marriage with Trey started with a joke, and now it should end with a joke.

Bang!

The bedroom door was kicked open without warning.

Giada Fast and Genesis Whyet rushed in.

Kristen frowned. "What are you doing?"

"What are we doing?

"You disgrace the Barrett family. Mrs. Barrett asks you to get down and kneel."

Giada and Genesis came over, grabbed Kristen's arms, and dragged her out.

"Let go of me!

"I am the daughter-in-law of the Barrett family."

"The daughter-in-law of the Barrett family?

"You are just a woman who disgraces the Barrett family. You are nothing! Move!"
