Chapter 5

Kneel

Trey hated Kristen's guts.

He displayed his hatred for her in front of everyone without reservation, especially after they were married.

He hated her. He even wanted to torture her.

All the other members of the Barrett family, except for Alfred Barrett, who was ill in bed, also showed great malice toward Kristen.

Therefore, Kristen was the most humble in the Barrett family.

Giada and Genesis were the maids of Nathalie Barrett, Trey's mother, and they had no respect for Kristen at all.

"Mrs. Barrett, she is going downstairs!"

Giada and Genesis pulled Kristen by the arm and dragged her down the stairs.

Almost everyone from the Barrett family was in the hall.

Trey was sitting on the sofa and talking to his second brother, Trevon Barrett.

The youngest daughter of the Barrett family, Harley Barrett, was eating snacks.

There were also other people from the Barrett family.

"Kneel!"

Nathalie was furious and looked at Kristen as if she was looking at some trash.

However, Kristen, who had always been obedient, glanced at Nathalie with indifference. "I didn't do anything wrong. Why should I?"

"How dare you?

"Giada, Genesis, pin her to the ground!"

Bang!

Giada kicked Kristen on her right knee.

Kristen was so painful that her face turned pale. She staggered a few steps but stubbornly didn't kneel.

Seeing that, Genesis kicked Kristen on the left knee.

She and Giada held Kristen's arms at the same time and pressed Kristen down hard.

Kristen couldn't hold on any longer and knelt on the ground in a sorry state. Her knees were killing her.

Giada and Genesis had been following Nathalie for years. Though they were maids, they were very vicious. They had endless ways to torture people.

Trey looked at the scene expressionlessly.

Kristen glanced at him habitually. When she met his cold eyes, she instantly came back to her senses and withdrew her gaze.

What was she looking forward to?

"Look at what you have done. You plagiarized in the competition. Now the whole fashion industry knows. Everyone is saying that the daughter-in-law of the Barrett family is a plagiarist!

"I told you long ago. Don't force yourself if you don't have what it takes! Just stay home and give birth to a child for Trey! Do you think our family can't afford to support you? Why do you have to cause trouble for us?

"You disgrace us all!"

Nathalie was so angry that her face was livid. She pointed at Kristen and accused Kristen ceaselessly, no longer looking graceful and luxurious anymore.

Kristen chuckled. "I disgrace you?

"Mrs. Barrett, ask your son.

"Isn't he the chief culprit of all of this?"

Kristen looked up and stared at Trey sarcastically. Her voice was never so cold. "Trey, your wonderful son, my husband, ignored the reputation of the Barrett family for a shameless mistress!"

Trey was stunned and looked at her in surprise.

He thought, is she crazy because of what happened?

"How dare you!"

Ariana Barrett, Trey's grandmother, had been silent. And now, she suddenly became furious. "You are so lawless and shameless! How did we let you become the daughter-in-law of our family?

"Reed, bring me the whip!

"I must teach this ignorant woman a lesson today!"

"Grandma..."

Trey subconsciously tried to stop Ariana.

Ariana's expression changed, and she looked at Trey coldly. "Shut up! Don't defend her. She made a mistake, and she deserves to be punished!"

Reed Mond, the housekeeper, came over with a whip in his hand.

The whip was passed down from the ancestors of the Barrett family.

The Barrett family was prestigious, yet they still kept the tradition.

Reed held the whip and stood behind Kristen.

Ariana said coldly, "Whip her hard. Ask her every ten lashes until she admits her mistake."

"Yes, Mrs. Barrett."

Whip!

Reed lashed the whip.

Kristen knelt on the ground. Her back was in pain, but she gritted her teeth, suffering in silence. She even tried to straighten her back with great stubbornness.

Seeing that, Ariana was completely provoked.

"Whip her!

"Whip her hard! I'll see how long she can hold on to it!"
